I found this B&B while looking for houses/hotels to host a group of 18-20 friends and work colleagues. I was looking into Hunter and surrounding areas. The place attracted me because of its location very close to the slopes, the great and quick response from the host Chuck, and for the personal care he put into our reservation. Chuck also offered...

Chuck and Jim run a lovely operation. Warm, thoughtful and relaxed atmosphere with all the expected/desired cliche's. Lots of comfy furniture with tasty snacks abound. They know the area cold and share their best recommendations. My dad is still talking about the Rigatoni with Sunday Gravy at a surprisingly awesome local restaurant (separate review). Do NOT miss a breakfast! Extremely...

We stayed in the "Opal" room which sleeps three. Very nice decor. Clawfoot tub in the bathroom. Breakfast made to order, good quality food. Staff are very friendly, they go out of their way to meet your needs.

Amazing experience! We stayed in the Gazebo Room, which has a breathtaking view of Hunter Mountain, a cozy bed with luxe sheeting, and a vintage claw foot tub-- perfect for soaking sore muscles after a day of skiing. Chuck made us creative, delicious vegan breakfasts and a delightful key lime pie. Exceeded my expectations in every way. Will definitely be...

Mediocre experience. Breakfast was great, room was very cozy and location is very convenient. Biggest turnoff is the innkeeper that complained every time we saw him (4-5x's). He complained about how much work it is running the place, how hard it is maintaining an old house, etc- all completely inappropriate to the guests.

We are sorry the guest did not have an optimal experience at our inn. In conversations with guests we try to be upbeat and informative. I am not sure about the conversations we had but apologize if they felt our commentary was inappropriate. From other reviews, like the one posted just previously you can see it is not common to...

The Fairlawn Inn is a wonderful, welcoming, cozy place to relax for a weekend. Chuck, the innkeeper, is the most accommodating host I have ever come across. We stayed at the Fairlawn on two separate occasions. The rooms are comfortable, quaint, and well maintained. The food, prepared by Chuck, is excellent and never repetitive. The grounds and the common areas...

From the beginning this family felt just like that.... Family. They made it easy to be accommodating and are back at the inn this weekend to ski. I appreciate the review and sentiments expressed in it. I look forward to having them return often and share in their life as they continue to visit. Blue (the dog) was a treasure...

We really enjoyed our 2 nights at the Fairlawn Inn. Our room (Greene) was very spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was delightful. We especially enjoyed the "family feel" to the breakfast room, where we chatted to other guests over a delicious freshly-cooked breakfast. Chuck was a very friendly host, and went out of his way to accommodate my dietary...

This B&B is truly wonderful. Chuck is a wonderful host, supplying information about places to go, things to see, restaurants, etc. Jim makes great breakfasts - now I understand the comments in other reviews about his specialties. The Inn is beautiful, well decorated and full of little details. We stayed in the Glenwood Room and loved the double jacuzzi and...
