Beautiful hotel. Warm welcome. Very tastefully done. The investment in the paintings and other decorations is incredible. The golf course is wonderful as well. Recommend this place for a wedding or just a relaxing weekend / holiday. The rooms could have a coffee maker and a bar.

Oheka is a top of the line hotel on North Shore Ling Island. It was the home of Wall Street Mogul of the 1920s Otto Kahn, who also produced some of Charlie Chaplin's films. Neglected for may years (church school, Army Training Center, and it was abandoned for several years) it was saved by the current owner who has done...

I stayed here twice. Once for a wedding and had an amazing time. I love the history and beauty of this castle. They have tours and lots of weddings here. Dennis M. At the front desk was wonderfully helpful and accommodating.

Hotel seems to be predominantly focused on weddings which I am sure are very nice. But if you're not part of the wedding party you'll feel like something of an afterthought. Our party of five was accommodated in a two bedroom suite. Slightly odd experience in that the feature of the suite was a very large kitchen which was completely...

We attended an over the top wedding here. The views in the garden, the beautiful rooms and staircase as well as the entrance of the castle are all just breathtaking. The bar is relaxed and had a TV. Their food was magnificent.

We stayed at Oheka Castle for two wonderful nights. The hotel is superb with great food in the restaurant. It for us was a very relaxing place to be and we enjoyed our visit immensely. We had a little problem with our room but there was no problem with the hotel sorting the problem and no fuss. We met the...

What a wonderful afternoon spent with my family. We did the tour and then lunch. The history of the Castle is fascinating . Our service and food at our lunch was outstanding. The owner was strolling around saying Hello to his guests. Our tour guide was Awsome. I highly recommend this venue and tour.

Took a very informative tour of the castle. The grounds are spectacular and the tour guide was excellent. After the tour we had a leisurely lunch. We all raved about the soup and crab cakes. This is a hidden gem on Long Island.

My wife and I had a great time strolling the grounds and enjoying the rooms of the castle. We especially liked that the helpful staff was not snooty or formal. Tom and Gari and Annie and Kathy were friendly and casual and laid back so we felt quite at home. The restaurant was superb-- we had breakfast, lunch and dinner...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OHEKA CASTLE is a majestic historic mansion located on Long Island's famed Gold Coast between New York City and The Hamptons. This French-style chateau is the second largest private residence in America and has undergone $30 million in restoration to transform this stately home back to its former 1920's grandeur. OHEKA is listed on the National Register for Historic Places and boasts 32 luxuriously appointed guestrooms and suites on the upper floors where guests can sleep like royalty. Guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the beautiful formal gardens designed by the Olmsted Brothers, take a mansion tour and learn about the rich history of OHEKA and Otto Kahn, or dine in the OHEKA Bar and Restaurant before retiring to your uniquely designed guestroom for an in-room massage. Breathtakingly beautiful, OHEKA CASTLE is admired around the world as a premier venue for exquisite weddings and gala celebrations and has been the backdrop to many prominent film and photo productions. The refined European atmosphere and the feeling of being transported back in time to the decadence of the Roaring Twenties consistently gives OHEKA the recognition as America's Grandest Castle. ... more   less
