We had booked this B&B well in advance to drop my son off at Cornell. After confirming with a credit card in March we subsequently checked back in in August to just be sure they had us coming. First we were told there was no record of our reservation on file. When I produced the emails of the reservation, I... More

We traveled to Ithaca for a long week end and decided on a lovely "looking" B & B. During breakfast, we asked the Innkeeper for a second cup of coffee. She disappeared into the kitchen and did not return. The kitchen door was locked, and her car was gone. We approached the exterior kitchen door and were met by a... More

My husband and I needed a place to stay for a long weekend to attend a wedding. I usually will stay at a chain hotel over a Bed and Breakfast because the comforts are generally universal. My husband loves the whole bed and breakfast experience and since we were traveling without our children I thought I would give this place... More

I could have given this place a 0, but I understand that people have accidents and difficult situations, and people don't always react in the most responsible way. There was a family emergency and instead of asking a friend to help watch the hotel, the owner, Zetta, cancelled my reservation. Being so close to the Cornell campus, she must realize... More

My husband and I ventured to Ithaca for a few days of waterfall hiking. This inn was so accommodating with our changing dates and the need to have breakfast a bit earlier. Our room, the Victoria, was spacious and very comfortable. The room was large and very quiet at night. The best part, in addition to the fabulous inn, was... More

We had an early morning meeting time at Cornell and asked Zetta in advance for an early breakfast. She accommodated our needs graciously. Breakfast was tasty but might not suit picky kids. My daughter and I shared the Vanessa. The rooms were very nice as was the common area. I was a bit confused as I thought we were getting... More

This B&B is in a quiet area near the Cornell University campus. Zetta was a wonderful hostess and a good cook. The home is a beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable place and perfect for a couples get-away. We would definitely go back!

The place is very nice. Very good bed, bathrooms nice and clean, and the best thing: the manager is a sweet and polite lady. I definitely recommend Hound and Hare to everyone that intend to stay in Ithaca, NY. Actually if you're going to Cornell University, this is the perfect place, since is near to Cornell's campus. My husband and stayed for one night in the Vanessa room. The room was amazing and spotless and with a lot of charm. We could see the beautiful garden through our window. Zetta was really warm and welcoming and made us a delicious breakfast the next morning. The house is gorgeous and has a very relaxing and beautiful secluded garden... More

Oh my, what a beautiful period home with a most gracious hostess, Zetta. The rooms are well appointed, I stayed in two different ones, the beds were so comfortable that I slept soundly the first night, both times. Both bathrooms, one tiny and quaint, one roomy and frilly were clean, and everything worked. Breakfast was delicious and conversation around the... More

“As noted above, if you want the Vanessa or Christina but not both, ask to make sure you don't get both! Christina has lots of windows and great view of garden as well as lots of toys kids might find interesting.”

“The three upstairs bedrooms have it all. We stayed in the ensuite for two (half-way up her heavily carpeted stairs): quiet, super comfortable, delightfully decorated, and has both a roomy closet and a roomy well-designed bathroom. We also saw Zetta's two-room suite, which appeared ideal for a family of four.”

“If you are traveling as a couple, the Valerie and Victoria suites are perfect. If you are traveling with children, with children, there is an option of a two-room suite, with a queen size bed in the main room, the Vanessa, and two twins in the connecting Christina room, and this arrangement provides you with two full bathrooms.”
