Super 8 Ithaca NY ITHACA SUPER 8 MOTEL! UNSAFE! DO NOT STAY THERE! It's very sad to see an affordable property like the Super 8 in Ithaca fall to the Wayside like it has! I feel sorry for the manager who has to put up with an awful lot. I felt unsafe the entire time I was there; I felt that my car was also unsafe in the parking lot. There is a lot of criminal activity around there, and the manager herself informed me that there was a shooting on the property over drugs. I stayed at this property a year ago for quite a while when I was between places, and even though some of the people were sketchy, it was never like this. I took a picture of a guy fishing cans out of the trash in his pajamas at 7:15pm; he was the same guy the previous night who was having a very loud conversation with himself, cursing at himself, then he got into a fist fight with himself, but then he reconciled. He is one of the long-term "residents:" If you are traveling, and especially if you have children, please stay away from this property. I cannot believe that Wyndham is allowing this type of activity to go on under their brand.. I booked four nights: the first night at 3 a.m. someone thought it would be funny to set off the fire alarm, and we all filed into the parking lot in 14 degree weather for an hour. There is noise in this hotel 24 hours a day! Loud, profanity driven arguments fill the air. There are dogs barking day and night. The second night that I was there somebody was bashing something against the wall like their fist, and yelling at 4 in the morning. It's a non-smoking property, but the people staying there (placed) long-term don't care about the rules, and they smoke as much as they want, whatever they want. Unfortunately this is representative of the decay that Ithaca NY is suffering.. It used to be a nice motel, in a nice Ivy League town..…
Absolutely filthy and dirty! We were given a uncleaned unsanitary room that had empty bottles , white substance with hair clippings in the drawers, unclean sheets, crumbs and just dirty everywhere. It is also a homeless shelter which they fail to tell you when making your reservations. The excuse for not cleaning was lack of housekeeping. Hotel reeked of marijuana. During this pandemic is was truly a nightmare. We left for a other hotel and wanted to boil ourselves. Customer serves was also a nightmare. We stayed there 3 years ago it was great. Now is is nightmare hotel please read reviews you don't want to stay here.
Very disappointed in this Wyndham property. String smoke smell through first floor and our room (tobacco and marijuana). Some guests appeared to be long term residents paid for by the State. Did not feel safe and would not stay again.
Unacceptable noise in the middle of the night for over 3 hours. Police arrested noise maker outside room and after police left the inside the room next to mine noise continued from midnight until 3 am.
