It's not a healthy place for nonsmokers. Bring your own food to cook or spend at least $45 to $50 per person to eat out. They do have a kitchen to share with stove and refrigerator and a microwave in each room. They do have a little play area for kids and you could barbecue as well. The village is a little distance. Besides that it's affordable with a price.
The cleaning staff did not wear masks during covid while cleaning the rooms. Rooms smelled musky. Inadequate lighting in the room and no phone though it was advertised . We woke up to a trash can knocked over with a half eaten piece of pizza and dirty diaper on the steps up to our room. I don't recommend staying there.
We had booked three rooms for a week but ending up staying only one night. When the reservations were made my wife informed them she was handicapped and we were put in a room where she was unable to use her walker due to the size of the room. The room still had trash under the bed from a previous occupant which makes one questions the cleanliness of the room. The shower ran hot and cold and when we raised these issues to management they became very incensed and stated we were causing an uproar and could leave. We were offered a bigger room that would be available the next day by e manager and the other said they would have to move someone’s reservations to gives us the room. So one says one thing and the other one something else. Also the playground they advertise is two swings. One of which is ripping.…
The Barberry Court is a lovely, older motel just outside the hubbub of Lake George. The grounds are well-groomed, pool looks inviting (though we didn’t swim), there are gas grills for guests’ use, and there is a community kitchen as well. The room was a bit dated and could use some remodeling, but it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We did have a fridge and microwave, but here is no in-room coffee. The coffee is served on a porch outside the office. We were quite happy to see a French Vanilla blend! The location was great, just outside town. Parking in town is difficult so you might consider walking to a restaurant. It is less than 1/2 mile to town. It will be an uphill walk coming back, however. There is one restaurant right next door as well. Prices were much better than most places in town. Many families were staying there. Overall, I would be happy to stay here again. …
Everything was good, and I liked the affordable rates. I had a room with two beds, which had a little dining corner, with fridge and microwave. Located at the north end of the Village of Lake George, so away from the hub-bub. An Italian restaurant next door.
