We stayed for 3 nights and did hikes and dives through Laka Lodge. The rooms are clean and comfortable, they provide free filtered water and have a massive solar system to provide electricity 24/7. The dives in the national park were fun and they even organised a night dive. Jon and his wife were very helpful in booking plane tickets,...

Our first time to the Comoros, and we didn't know what to expect. We were relieved that the effort was worth it. Laka Lodge is an oasis of comfort and relaxation, and its location inside the park means that it should stay that way, as the local villagers are actively involved in preserving the area. The hosts, Jon and Ginny,...

Regarding Laka Lodge: Food is great and abundant, all local fish and vegetables cooked french style. Rooms are comfortable. The beach is nice with very good view. Even though it's comfortable and beautiful, the lodge is not one of those annoying huge resorts that keep tourists isolated in a western-like little world. You will be just outside a very nice...

We (2 adults and a 5 yrs) were gifted with 10 days of absolute wellbeing and pleasure at Lake Lodge. Extremely friendly hosts, delicious and nutritious food, beautiful surroundings and nature. The place offers different trips and activities making your stay an experience for life. The managers are so helpful and well-organized, something which you should not underestimate the value...

After extensive traveling in Comoros, I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked my stay at Laka but was very happy with the result. Laka is not the easiest place to get to, but it is well worth the effort! John and Ginny were very attentive and wonderful hosts, and they did everything they could to make sure we...

But of a mission to get there but well worth the effort. Richard was always helpful and keen on diving, a great host. Their place is a logistical nightmare so food is good but variety is quite limited, you need not be fussy here, just eat what you get and don't make a fuss idiots. If you are a vegetarian...

My colleagues and I came here for a work retreat. The place was full but Richard, the manager, did everything he could to make our stay more comfortable even though we were a little cramped. The food was delicious. The beach is the cleanest I've seen on all three islands. The bungalows are nice. The only reason I didn't give...

After wanting to spend a week at Laka Lodge, we ended up staying for 2 weeks due to flight problems, but it was the best possible outcome for us. As others have said, the trip from the airport takes between 1,5-2 hours, but once you're there you forget all about the travelling ardour when you get your refreshing green coconut...

If you like pristine and wild places you have to stand some discomfort , i.e. quite terrible road to go there , lack of electricity many hours a day ) , but the trip is really worthing . You will find remarkable water , coral and beaches . Big green turtles hatching in Itsamia is a must . Good meals,...

A few practical tips first, if you're flying with either AB aviation or Inter Iles Air the staff here will book your flights for you. But do bear in mind to add a day or two either side of flights to and from Moheli as well as your main flight in and out of Moroni. This is due to frequent...

“We stayed in the best room they have available, which was full of Ikea furniture. Those who dislike that idea should go for a cheaper room which I assume would be furnished from local sources. I've stayed in plenty of locally furnished places in my time, and know what the limitations can be, so was quite happy with the Ikea look.”
