Totally agree with past reviews - overpriced for what you get, even having stayed in the suite on the first floor!Asked for a simple sandwich take away,as we left the resort at 5h30 to drive to Pemba - assured would be taken care of, they would prepare fresh at 4h30 am!When leaving at dawn no staff to be seen anywhere...

An awesome hotel, the design is perfect. The food tasty and the service very professional. You can enjoy the beach right in front of the hotel and the sunrise at the deck. The wifi signal is a bit weak.

If you choose this hotel choose the suite with the Seaview ...all the other rooms are like caves....dark and hidden.... The breakfast is to expensive for this few items to eat.....first time in my life I got a shot Glas full of Müsli.....is not a joke is tru.....a half Jogurt already in the Müsli bowl....etc. The place is fantastic with...

Very nice location, however they were out of most of the items on the menu, even starters. Wine selection was also lacking. The service took some time too. If it wasn't for the well natured staff, I would've ranked them even lower.

This is the place that I recommend my friends that travel to Ilha de Moçambique. The penthouse suit with ocean view is my favourite room in Mozambique, and I have seen most of them after living and traveling here for 25 years now. The overall score is 4 star, BUT the service/staff only gets 2 stars; they need a huge...

We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2016 as part of an independent trip around northern Mozambique. The hotel has a great location right on the water and right in stone town, the historic section of the island. Rooms were disappointing. We were shown into a room which was essentially a concrete bunker with no windows. We asked for...

Fantastic place for sunset drinks and lunch. The grilled squid and prawns delicious. Unfortunately we didn't know about this place before arriving on the island otherwise we would have stayed. Had lunch there every day and the staff were great. On the last day we also used the poll which was fab.

I spent one night here on a business trip with 10 colleagues and ended up getting the suite. The room was huge and woke up to a fabulous view right overlooking the water. It happened to be my birthday so it was like a little treat away from home. The breakfast was sublime. They provide fresh fruit, cereal, eggs anyway...

Amazing hotel, amazing hosts/owners, great pool and pool bar. First, Ilha is spectacular - such a beautiful island. Villa Sands is a great place to explore the island from. Great communication from the owner before our stay - and easy pick-up/transfer from Nampula airport. Being right on the water was a huge asset - the pool overlooked the water and...

We stayed five nights at Villa Sands and would honestly recommend it as one of the most memorable and enjoyable hotels I have stayed at. Firstly, it is important to note that, yes, Ilha is remote and fairly poorly equipped with modern infrastructure. Therefore, the wifi and the water pressure, even at a boutique hotel aren't always fantastic, but the...
