We stayed at Bluebird Lake Placid for 2 nights while visiting our son’s camp for visiting weekend. The hotel is still under construction and lacking most typical amenities including a working bar or food service. Accommodations are very basic with limited lighting in the room and no extras including a lack of cups or glasses for water (upon asking, we were told they did not yet have a dishwasher as a reason). Our window looked out on a dumpster.

Beds were comfortable, lobby was nice and the location was very convenient. All of the above would have been fine if the price being charged was reasonable. Even with the Ironman in town, $400 per night was an extremely poor value for what was offered, especially since the price was the same as the other more full-service hotels in town. Would look elsewhere if you are visiting Lake Placid

Hello, We thank you for allowing us to accommodate you while visiting your son and hope that, overall, you enjoyed a comfortable visit that enabled you to get the most out of your time exploring the community. Your feedback in these early days of our being open is invaluable and something we’ll keep in mind every step of the way as we continue to inch closer to fully realizing our vision for our property. We hope to have the privilege of sharing our experience with you again when that time comes and perhaps when demand brings our value more in line with your expectations. In the interim, keep in mind that you forever have a home with us. Take care!

We stayed in a King Jr Suite for a long weekend, and loved it. Our room had a beautiful view of Mirror Lake (3rd floor). While it's called a suite, it's really a creatively configured standard room so you get a couch/sitting area. Our room had a few minor quirks (bathroom door that was difficult to shut, etc) but we found the room clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly when we had questions. The lobby lounge is beautiful with many comfortable areas to take a break, read a book, and relax. The elevator wasn't working, and there was no bar/food service, but that wasn't a major issue for us. Bluebird has done a great job reinventing this building, and it will be great when it's finished.

I get they are getting up and running but while the new decor is lovely…. The elevator was broken all 4 days I was there, the stairs exit to the parking had caution tape all over it, the shade on the window was either all open or all closed (dark) and it broke, the shower took 10 minutes to heat up and unforgivable- no coffee available in the entire hotel- not in the rooms, no lobby. Oh- also- there was an updated way to tip with a QR code- nice addition- but never had anyone do a bit of cleaning all 4 days.

If you go- give it some more time to be ready. And bring your own coffee.

Hi Laura, We were elated to have you with us and want to share that your feedback is invaluable in these early days of our being open. Despite us still working towards our ultimate vision for our property, our goal is to always leave guests delighted. It’s clear that several details worked against that, all of which we’re going to be discussing internally. I made my reservation through booking.com and had to make a change. Booking told me that they couldn’t do it so I called hotel. Chelsea who works the front desk was super helpful. She made the change for me. When I checked in she was working as was just so pleasant. I got a text message after check in saying that if I needed anything to let them know. In the morning the blind wasn’t working. I texted her and it was fixed within the hour. I loved all the toiletries that were provided. Bed was a bit too soft but I still enjoyed my stay. I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at this renovated hotel, boasting a visually appealing ambiance with cheerful, wide soft white wood accents. Despite these improvements, my experience was overshadowed by various issues.

Several aspects of the hotel were incomplete, and the elevator was out of order. Surprisingly, essential in-room items such as a phone for contacting reception or room service were missing, leaving guests without a convenient means of communication. Furthermore, the absence of a lock on the room door raised concerns about security.

The thin walls, while not uncommon for hotels in the area, contributed to a lack of sound insulation. However, the most significant issues stemmed from management and service. The manager, who I observed to be bald, exhibited a condescending attitude towards guests.

Upon arrival, there was a notable lack of a warm welcome. Instead, the initial interaction focused on payment and was followed by a recitation of hotel guidelines, presented more as rules than friendly advice. This approach was off-putting, and it left me with the impression that the manager might be better suited to a different industry.

The manager's emphasis on showcasing the new bar, while neglecting other crucial aspects of guest experience, was frustrating. A peculiar rule enforced by the hotel was the designation of a quiet area, which was strictly enforced. It was odd to be asked to relocate to the library to have a conversation, especially considering the library and quiet area are adjacent to the bar in an open floor plan.

The manager's behavior towards guests reached a low point where he was observantly abrasive towards a small group of guests.

Parking proved problematic, despite the hotel not being full. Inadequate space led to a street parking ticket. The hotel failed to communicate, refusing compensation. The known parking issue was exacerbated by a worker's trailer occupying many parking spots. The hotel should take responsibility and address the problem proactively.

Despite the hotel's aesthetic improvements, management and service issues detracted significantly, making recommendations for this hotel are difficult. The hotel's excuse of being "new" seems unconvincing. With a functional bar, full staff, and strict adherence to guidelines, better options exist in the area.

I can't say enough about how clean and cool this hotel is. Judging by the looks outside does not do the inside justice. Only because as we were driving by we just saw a black painted hotel but this place is the best. The interior decor and lobby is gorgeous surrounded with pine and mood lighting. The bar, all the special unique rooms surrounding the lobby. I'm sure it's amazing also in the fall and winter providing a warm space to sip cider or cocoa on a cool night. Room 300 is impeccably clean and cozy and has a fabulous view of Miracle Lake. Kohler faucets, dimmer lights above the beds, real glassware, a little fridge and microwave, a great infrared blow-dryer. In the morning they have a coffee cart with MCT oil, cinnamon , cardemon, agave syrup, real cream or tea, what a treat. Everything was newly renovated. Conveniently located in the center of town. I will be checking out other Bluebird hotels as we are on a road trip to massachusetts. The front desk associate Nasir was so kind and welcoming. Management Anthony and Bill kindly listened intently to me go on about how much I loved this hotel. Please, don't waste your time going anywhere else, you won't regret it.

Bluebird Lake Placid is in the perfect location just a few steps from Main Street and many restaurants and stores, as well as beautiful Mirror Lake. The decor is very nice, fresh and updated. The lounges are pleasant and bright. Our king junior suite on the second floor had a partial lake view. The room was bright, and bed was very comfortable. The sitting area with large flat panel tv, mini fridge and microwave was a bonus. Coffee was available in the morning downstairs. When we made our reservations, we know that there were renovations ongoing; however, that did not interfere with our stay. The construction workers were respectful, and it was quiet at night. When the bar and other areas are completed, this is going to be the place to stay in Lake Placid.

We chose the Bluebird Lake Placid as our staff/crew hotel for an event in Lake Placid. The process from the contract booking, submission of rooming lists and attention to service detail was top notch from start to finish. The hotel is completely updated, the rooms are new, with modern updates and amenities. The property is in a perfect location for ease of walking to Lake Placid restaurants and attractions. The property also has adequate parking and good wifi. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We will certainly stay at this property again when returning to the area. I am also planning a trip back with our family in the coming months and plan to stay here again, as I know they will also enjoy this property. Highly recommend.

Our family and entire hockey team just stayed at the Bluebird over Veterans Day weekend for a Can/Am Hockey tournament. What a huge let down! Breakfast & dinner were supposed to be provided. The property was still undergoing an extensive renovation. Most of the amenities were not available due to the construction. No pool, no restaurant, no vending machines, not enough parking spaces for the guests (guests were ticketed $35 for parking on the street overnight and zero empathy from the staff, not so much as comped drink at their bar that was only open for a couple hours each night and had a very limited selection) No elevator that was working. In light of this, we had to travel to another hotel for meals and drinks. There was literally nowhere to grab a snack or drink, not even a vending machine! Traveling with children, this became problematic. Had we known we would have stopped at the market and loaded up ahead of time. We were quite disappointed that as a group (3 full youth hockey teams and their families) the hotel staff did not want anyone "congregating" in the beautiful social areas. Why have them if you don't want people to socialize?! Never mind they opted in hosting hockey teams but do not allow knee hockey or hockey equipment in building. The children had to go play knee hockey at another hotel. Frankly the management seems to dislike children overall. Witnessed them openly yelling at a group of boys who from what I could see were just sitting and talking. The manager confiscated their sticks and refused to return them. Furthermore, the same employees were engaging in an argument with these children without a parent present. Huge red flag. I would not ever return to this Bluebird location. I certainly did not feel that we were welcomed in anyway. Not sure why they opted to host hockey families when it's very clear they do not want children/families as their clients. Maybe best they should be an adult only location as that is the vibe they gave off. Very disappointing as the hotel manager and staff's attitude was atrocious. This started at check in and continued throughout the weekend. Hopefully the owner gets these bozos some training and compassion before they ruin your hotels reputation before its even off the ground. Housekeeping came once in 4 days and never came back - not even to change out the towels. If I could rate the experience in the negatives I would. Avoid at all costs. Any other hotel would have been bending over backwards to be hospitable and make up for their lack of amenities. This hotel could have given zero cares to the comfort and experience of their guests.

Hello Caras, We appreciate you sharing your perspective on your stay. Our team is always happy to accommodate any and all travel parties, including those with children. We do, however, need to balance the comfort of all of our guests which sometimes results in our having to enforce conduct policies pertaining to indoor play, noise, and the like. We’re sorry you felt that the steps we took in managing the peace and safety of our common areas left something to be desired. That’s feedback we take seriously and will discuss internally as a core aim of ours is for all who join us to feel respected and valued, regardless of one’s age. We can only hope that as more of our amenities come online in these early days of our being open that we might have another opportunity to care for you and ultimately, impress more fully. In the interim, we wish you and yours the very best from Lake Placid! Take care!

Don't let the website or lobby fool you; beyond that it's nothing more than a flashy cabin in the "woods"...literally.
The room was overpriced - we had a view of a dirt hill, less than 5 feet away from the balcony. The AC was loud - bring your ear plugs - glad I had mine packed. The front desk staff was less than helpful, lacked any sort of personality and after I gave him my CC and he handed me the key, he never said I was all set or pointed me to the room, I had to ask "am I all set, which way do I to to the elevator". Our room was the very last room at the end of a very dark hallway. Parking was a joke, not enough spots, and to make more spaces they made the parking spots smaller, seriously a sham. My car was scratched by the minivan next to mine and I had to pull my car up into the grass in front of my parking spot to have enough room to actually get out of the car. DO better Bluebird.
