This was our first trip to Uganda as a couple and it did not disappoint. The setting was stunning, we arrived just in time to see the sun set over the nile from our room and veranda. Arriving in Uganda we had low expectations of the food, being big foodies we were extremely pleased with the service and food quality....

Although I have eaten at the Black Lantern (in house restaurant ) in recent years it is sometime since I have stayed in one of the tents overlooking the Nile. What an improvement! The tents are spacious and well furnished , with a veranda overlooking the Nile with chairs and a hammock to relax in. Good choice for breakfast, with...

I have recently re-visited the the Nile Porch which I have known for 5 years and while I still enjoyed the view very much I found that the quality of the place is seriuously derailing. The chalets/tents need fixing urgently, the floors and walls are cracking and ants and other animals are moving in. Mattresses seem old and are uncomfortable....

Bitten by bed bugs and told what do you expect - it's Africa - Mossies yes, bed bugs No! Breakfast was poor most days and awful on the day we decided to leave, even the camp dog couldn't eat it. Staff were not interested in providing a good service, need proper supervision. Will never stay here again.

I stayed here for a fortnight in November/December and loved it. The view from my accommodation over the Nile was breath taking and my 'tent' was very comfortable. The bed was quite the most comfortable I have slept in in Uganda. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and I felt very well looked after. The meals...

Pros and cons with this property. The location is great but there's not much of a view from the restaurant and the staff aren't very approachable. The tents were good though but the whole place just seemed to be lacking something.

There are few places near Jinja which cater to both children and parents. Great family accommodation with spectacular views in spacious bandas, nice pool, excellent restaurant with diverse alla carte menu. The breakfast is among the best in Ugandan lodges, monkeys are a plenty and the managers have an excellent taste in music. Just perfect.

We came expecting to enjoy views of the nile and lounge in the pool. Instead we found that the pool was empty and the views of the nile are almost all obscured by bushes, trees and tall weeds that need to be cleared. The tents were nice but they do not close at all (the iron gate locks but the...

Great food, lovely view, cosy bungalows, friendly knowledgeable staff, nice gardens, cute kids (the owners family) reasonable pool (small but clean)... The only thing is that the mattresses are a little too soft. I hope that changes soon!!

“Leave out Nr. 1, close to the restaurant and bar (could be a bit loud on weekends) - otherwise they all have a lovely view over the Nile.”
