I stayed in the Arnold last weekend. I had a really great time. Stayed at the greenhouse which has tropical plants and relaxing music .The other room that I loved is the fireplace room .I enjoyed staying there eating the night snack ( popcorn) that the hotel provided. It was a good way to relax from all the stress of this COVID time. I loved the bed with the fluffy blanket . Great internet for work as well( I had to do some work in the morning). The morning tea with chocolate is a pretty interesting tea ( specially for tea affictionates like myself).I had my breakfast and took some to go in my journey. I went in the direction of one of the trips that the hotel recommends. I didn't walk in the trail due to the cold weather. It was an amazing trip by the Delaware River.( see the pictures).I ended driving by the Delaware for a while and had a great experience. Staff is welcome and nice.

I'll start with all the positives: the Catskills are absolutely beautiful and the hotel is on several acres of gorgeous land. The photo opportunities are endless. The entire place has a "rustic" charm to it, and the overall vibe is very cozy. They'll provide you with what you need to make s'mores over the campfire, and the greenhouse is a perfect little spot to work on a rainy day, or hang out in. They also have a super cozy indoor spot with couches and a fireplace - the perfect après-ski hangout. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The overall areas were clean and the restaurant was great. Their food was delicious, as were the drinks. The property would be an ideal place to rent out in its entirety if you were planning a wedding. For the most part, there is little to complain about at The Arnold House... if you were paying less than $200 a night to stay there. Because unfortunately, that's when the dust settles... which leads me to the "not so greats": We stayed in the Garden Suite on the ground floor, with its own entrance and payed upwards of $400 a night for it. The hotel room was clean enough when we arrived, and it's big so great for not being on top of one another. The decoration is fine, nothing to write home about but a simple modern X country chic. The bed is really comfy, so bonus points for that. The bathroom is a disaster. The shower doesn't drain. The water pressure is non-existent and there were weird stains on the radiators. There was also a good amount of dust on the shower sill. Which led us to believe the cleaning crew may not have been as thorough as we'd hoped (this would not have been a game changer normally, but in COVID times, you hope for higher standards of cleanliness). There were holes in the wall, the towel hook was coming undone and there was a lack of bedside table on one side of the bed. So again, this room is a wonderful $200 a night room. Not nearly $500 with taxes for a single night. I think the attention to detail would make the price more palpable. Overall it was a wonderful couple of nights because we were able to take full advantage of the outdoors- would stay again but would hope those small defects had been tended to.

My wife and I stayed in the Garden Studio for 2 nights. The room was clean and had great views of the meadows from the private deck. The grounds were beautifully kept and there was a fire outside each night with s’mores. So many good things to say about this place but it’s best if you just go and experience it yourself. COVID-19 protocols were in place and followed by staff and guests.

Fantastic. While staying anywhere in June 2020 is tricky with COVID-19, The Arnold House made it very easy. Protocols were clear and easy to follow. S’mores equipment is provided for the fire each night which encapsulates well the lovely touches seen throughout the property. Staff was incredible and welcoming. Food from The Tavern is delectable too! Overall, 10/10.

Have to say that the Arnold House was the perfect getaway for our special weekend - not only was it my birthday, but my (newly wedded) husband and I had just signed marriage papers in the city and wanted to celebrate. We reached out to the Arnold House pretty last minute, but they were so accommodating. The room (we had number 9) was great - cozy, but large, with all the needed comforts (awesome bed, pillows, sheets), the tavern hosted us and made us also feel so special, the lounge area in the evening is perfect - with fireplace, comfy couches, and a nice style to it all, and then the breakfast was just right. I had seen reviews stating the noise levels were high in the Arnold - but we didn't find that at all. Yes, it is an older house - so of course there will be some noise, but we had a great stay, no disruptions and would be thrilled to come back there and stay another weekend. Definitely recommend the place!
