At the Front desk at check in there was a friendly lady, she was one of two that was friendly all the time. The others almost didn't look up if you were coming in or going out.

This hotel is terrible. Our room was smelling weed, the walls and carpets were dirty, the furniture old and destroyed. Avoid it if possible. The bathroom seemed clean. Breakfast was very poor. The view from our room was a construction site.
Stayed there for our first trip to NYC, hotel was well positioned for transport with Manhattan about 10 mins away by subway. Rooms could maybe be updated but they were clean & comfy up on the 10th floor. There isn't much around the hotel but...More

Are you staying at this hotel? If so walk over to the R train, a couple of blocks over 7-10 min walk. Take the manhattan bound R all the way to the Whitehall south ferry about a 30 min train ride. Walk right over to the stated island ferry and off to the starting line you go. Just keep in mind the walk from the hotel to the train doesn't have coffee shops open at that hour of you need it. Also there is a 24 hour Dunkin at the queensboro train stop taking the R from there about a 12 min walk from the hotel.
