Staff was great, I asked for a nice view and they gave me a corner suite with a nice view. More than enough room and the extra sitting room was great to relax.
Location is good, next to restaurants, stores and to walking trails.
Breakfast was basic, but free.
Hot tub was really hot.

If your Sedona hotel search doesn’t include the need for a property with a vast spa, and large rooms for lounging, but DOES include a clean, comfortable, and affordable space to sleep, the Holiday Inn Express is your spot.
We were in town for a long weekend, spending very little time in our room to maximize our time outdoors in Sedona. The rooms are updated/modern, the AC/heater work great, the beds are super comfy, and the coffee (available for free 24/7) is really good.
Additionally, if you’re looking for a great value with your IHG points, this is it. Hotels in Sedona can be SO expensive during peak times, but the points redemption rate here is fantastic.
The hotel itself is technically in Oak Creek, which is a ~15 min drive from Sedona. Oak Creek has a plethora of delicious restaurants to choose from, but the drive between Oak Creek and Sedona is one of the most beautiful drives in the entire country, so we didn’t mind going back and forth.
Lastly, I have to compliment the staff. I burned my hand rather badly during my stay and they went so far above and beyond to make sure I was ok. Truly appreciated.
I highly recommend Holiday Inn Express Sedona.

This is a Holiday Inn Express. You know what to expect. This hotel ticks all the boxes and also gets bonus points for helpful and friendly staff.
Clean room - a studio with a sort of living room as well as the bedroom (note it would be more useful if the layout was reversed so the sitting / living area had the microwave and fridge in it). Bed was very comfortable and we slept well with no noise.
Car parking onsite. Breakfast is what you expect from the brand - no frills but does what it needs to do.
Location of course stunning with Bell Rock trailhead 10 minutes walk / 2 minutes drive away, with a plethora of great hikes. Go to the Chamber of Commerce in Sedona where they have a tourist information point manned by very helpful volunteers.
Good options nearby include a Chinese restaurant 200 yards away and various other options including a supermarket just minutes away and the Circle K just practically opposite.

We chose Holiday Inn Express because all locations that we have stayed in before were well run. We were greeted warmly when we arrived. The desk clerk was friendly, behind a plexiglass barrier, a table between us to ensure 6ft distance. I was a bit surprised she wasn’t wearing a mask. Actually we never saw any employees wearing masks. The night desk clerk told us that there would not be a continental breakfast buffet in the morning. That is understandable given current conditions, but should have been disclosed on the website. She also told us we could pick up a bag breakfast the next morning. We came to the lobby in the morning and had to wait quite a bit before a clerk came out from the office. We told her we were there to get our breakfast. She went back into the office and brought out two brown paper sacks. We opened them when we got back to our room. We each got a bottle of water, a snack pack of mandarin oranges, and a small bag of Doritos. I understand a snack breakfast right now, but perhaps yogurt, instant oatmeal to prepare in the microwave in our room, or an individually wrapped pastry would have been more appropriate. We ended up leaving and finding breakfast elsewhere.

Not a nice IHG. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone. They have updated the rooms but the pool is disgusting, freezing cold, paint is peeling. The outside area is unkept. This property does not reflect IHG standards. Was expecting something better for Sedona. It’s better to actually stay in the city of Sedona at the Best Western or some other property where you don’t have to drive to town.
This property is too far away from Sedona city center.
Pool is disgusting.
There are no breakfast options at this hotel. Just 1 tiny fridge with Jimmy Dean Frozen Sausage or chobani.
Also being platinum elite they didn’t acknowledge until later and when we asked for an upgrade they denied it despite being suites available.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express for two nights. The night we arrived, my husband was feeling terrible and we clearly needed to get a second room for him. The Manager, Gen, was incredibly kind and arranged a second room across the hall for us. She gave me great suggestions for finding a pharmacy, soup etc that were really close to the motel. The rooms were spacious, clean and reasonably quiet. I used the laundry room and it was also clean and well maintained. One of the other great perks of this place is it's location near Bell Rock Park. Both days that we were in Sedona we walked up to this beautiful spot and explored several trails and the views are incredible. We did drive the 5-6 miles into the main part of Sedona for dinner the second night and we all agreed we were happy to be staying away from all the traffic and crowds. If you're in Sedona to hike and need a clean, low key place with an excellent staff then this is a great spot.

Check in was very slow due to only having one person at the desk. Mike was very polite and professional during the check in process. He attempted to get help with checking in the guest but no one was available to help due to having to help getting the rooms ready . This hotel is within walking distance to nearby restaurants, and a short drive to uptown sedona. They serve a hot breakfast with a variety , however the eating area is very small. The hotel was clean and the rooms were very spacious. We did have an issue with the shower door not wanting to stay closed at times. There was no cleaning service unless you requested it at the desk and if you needed toiletry items or towels you had to stop by the desk to get them.

This is one of the newer motels in the Sedona are . 3 years old according to desk clerk. The room was good size with 2 queen beds that were super comfortable The free breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts that i have had. Bacon was crispy coffee at front 24 hours a day was excellent. The staff was pleasant and informative on any sights in the area Would highly recommend

This is my second time staying here and I couldn't have been happier. The bed is so comfy, I almost didn't want to leave it. I think their breakfast is great. There are a lot of options. Pancakes, eggs, omelets, sausage and gravy, biscuits, a meat, bagels, cereal, yogurts, and apples and bananas. I like that the location is more quiet than Sedona. This location is super close to Bell Rock and hiking around there, as well as, Cathedral Rock and The Courthouse. Sedona is beautiful. I would definitely come back here again.

It was heated when I went two months ago. The probably keep it at a specific temp till, it sustains that temp on its own (i.e. hotter months). I recommend a quick call to the hotel to be sure.

I agree with others. Weather is not something you can count on. However many people travel that route so if you plan to travel between 9 and 4 the roads should be treated if there is ice/snow.

There are many hiking trails around our hotel that are within 1.5 miles. Unfortunately we do not have a hotel shuttle if you wanted to be transported to the hiking location. Sedona has a ton of amazing hiking sites!
There are more places to choose from in the Village of Oak Creek area.
