I visited my brother who was staying at the Emerson with his family. There are two sides to the hotel. One side is a more romantic, upscale, newer end and the other is a renovated log house end, catering to families and even allows dogs. What you can't see when you drive in is that the rooms face the back...

Friendly staff at desk, helped me jump start my car so I could make it into town. Our room in the inn was very large and had a lot of unique touches that made the room cozy such as a gas fireplace. Jacuzzi tub and room overall were spotless clean. Spa had all the basics, steam room and sauna were...

My new husband and I currently live in Saratoga Springs, NY. We attended a wedding at The Emerson in January 2012. The buildings, amenities and service was very impressive. When he popped the question this past December, we knew exactly where we wanted to get married. We booked The Emerson this past January and have had wonderful communication with the...

We stayed here during our travel through the region (Catskills and Hudson Valley) in a family suite in the Lodge (one of the separate buildings, away from the main building). The place was huge, with 2 very large bedrooms, each with probably the biggest King beds we ever slept in, 2 bathrooms and a sitting room. Everything was clean and...

This was our first visit to this area, we picked the hotel online and it was wonderful. The staff were really friendly. The room was large, clean and nicely decorated. We visited both restaurants and enjoyed the food and the view at each. We explored Woodstock, Phoenicia, Hunter Mt. and the Vanderbilt Mansion. We would definitely recommend this place!!

The rooms were simple and the layout of the rooms we had were perfect. Since we had a party of 7, we needed 2 rooms to connect. The rooms were both clean, functional, comfortable, and private. I was a bit anxious to come from the city to party in the woods, but it was super safe and the people could...

This was our first time traveling with our 2 dogs and to the Mt. Tremper area. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was hard to believe it was a pet friendly room. The dogs loved the dog run. Overall, we had a nice visit and hated to leave. We will definitely return.

We had a two story suite with working fireplace, two baths, etc. Well kept facilities. Odd decor. It appears than there was an Asian Indian antique store on the premises before the hotel was built. So they included much of the inventory in the new buildings. Great collection of local art in the lobby area, friendly staff, especially the guy...

Definitely has a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The spa is open most of the day and is free for guests (excluding massages). Really relaxing. However, the price is expensive, and although there's a balcony, it doesn't face any natural beauty. The rooms are really nice though (we slept in the Regal suite).

I probably can't say enough good things about our stay at the Emerson, but I qualify first that our stay was centered around traveling with a 14 month old border collie. We chose this spot because of its "dog friendliness" and in that regard it did not disappoint. Check in went smoothly. We were placed in one of the two...
