My husband and I love the particular area of Upstate New York where Kate's is located, and I'd wanted to stay here since it opened. At long last we did, and even though we had a good time, it was also a bit of a letdown. While they do advise that there's no daily housekeeping service, upon check in it... More

A new favourite for us in Phoenicia. Phoenicia had been a family tradition since my dad was 12. Kate's intrigued me the last several years and at last we were able to stay there! We cannot wait to go back. The staff, accommodations, feeling of the space, down to every detail, was simply exquisite. We Love KATE'S!!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is quirky and fun and the natural setting is beautiful (especially in the Summer!). The bathrooms and Kitchen are a little worse for wear but still clean and acceptable. Staff very friendly. Will definitely stay again.

If you liked the Chelsea Hotel in N Y, you will like this place. First of all, very clean! Suites are 50's decorated and the kitsch is palpable. The outside hot tub spa was not functioning. Can BBQ on the Escopus Creek shore. B52 history if you remember them! A different place to stay. A fun adventure. Wireless is sketchy... More

Loved this place. The back of the property alone was worth the stay. The view of the Mountains and the River with Firepit access was stand alone the best out of all the places we stayed on our girls trip. It was also a luxury to have the working full kitchen as restaurants are quite a distance away. We loved... More

We checked in and within a short period of time I felt my throat closing up. The smell was funky. I had an allergic reaction to something in the place. I am only allergic to mold and cockroach droppings according to my doctor. I called the number since no one was in the office. I told them I couldn't stay... More

Had been wanting to visit this place for 10 years since I read a review in Time Out New York. Finally made it. You can tell this place was conceived with heart and extraordinary vision. The decor in the the room is fabulous and totally delivers on a post atomic modern mid century dreamscape. But it's a little dirty. Guests... More

So I felt I had to put up a review since I read so many bad reviews of this place and please please know it's NOT THAT BAD. I made a reservation for my husband and I since we both love Kate and mid century design. We stayed in Suite 3, which was a bit cramped but really not bad... More

When we booked from the website, the pricing was vague (under the holidays category) and via email, KLM agreed that it was difficult to interpret and to honor the price we thought it was. More on that later... It was strange that there is an office but no one was there on a holiday to greet people; instead there were... More

Come on people! This place is a fun, kitsch little getaway. Go stay at a Sheraton or the aforementioned Dylan Inn which looks like a Days Inn with a Peace Sign. This collection of fun, little motel rooms and cabins are charming. The beds are clean and its a quirky little getaway. I'm a huge B-52's fan so yeah, that... More

“If you just want to get away in the winter and not be bothered, the shack is better than the rooms. Quiet and not connected to the world. If you are there in the summer, the river is accessible from the motel rooms. PUP FRIENDLY (50$ extra per night).”
