I felt welcomed the moment I walked in! I arrived late at night, but Deborah had provided instructions at the front door so I could get in and find my room. The accommodations are very comfortable and clean. I chatted with Deborah for a while and she made me feel right at home. I wish I could have stayed longer...

Stayed here on my bike trip on the Erie Canal. Wonderful room and meal. Nice small town. Very quiet and peaceful. Used to be a factory. Owners live on site in a separate house. Three level. Large dining area.

The rooms here were very well appointed--nice quilts and other homey touches. Bathroom was well appointed. The one downside was they turned the heat off at night and only turned it on around 6 or so in the morning, after I was up for a while. My room had a heater but I couldn't figure out how to use it...

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again next year during the Domestic Skills Symposium at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. We keep the heat on all the time, but we are a restored plaster mill with one zone heat. That is why we have electric heaters or gas fireplaces in all our rooms...

My wife and have stayed here on numerous occasions. We have watched as three owners have run this magnificent Inn. She needed some love and care. Owners one and two did some cosmetic decorating. Now we have Richard and Deborah. They saw a need for infrastructure repair. Many years later the inn has new windows a new roof and many...

We had a great stay at this beautiful inn. It is historic, beautifully maintained with two wonderful inn keepers. Our room was large, quiet and well appointed. Breakfast was hot, delicious with wonderful service. Comparing with friend who stayed elsewhere close by we definite picked the right spot. Absolutely would come back.

Spent the night here after our wedding at the Genesee Country Museum. They let us check in early so that when our wedding was over we could be dropped off at the inn by family and go straight inside without having to mess around with a late check in while we are wearing our wedding dress and tux. It was...

This was my third stay (3 nights this time). I will always stay at the inn for any trips to the Rochester area. The inn is fascinating. The innkeepers have created a world-class B&B. Everywhere I look I see the attention to detail which adds up to comfort, ambiance and a fun memory. Deborah is an amazing hostess, with breakfasts...

The Genesee Country Inn provides the perfect place for taking a break from "real life". The 1833 inn is a step back in time. The rooms are beautifully decorated and there is a "parlor" for reading by the fireplace. The grounds even allow for some roaming after having a delicious homemade breakfast.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast, built in 1833in Mumford near Rochester, New York, is situated on Spring Creek, a trout stream where guests can enjoy private fly fishing or relax by the mill pond. The inn has ten distinctly, comfortably decorated bedrooms, all with private baths, air-conditioning, telephones, hair dryers, and TV/DVD players. The king suite enjoys a beautiful view of the gardens, fountain, and mill pond. The garden rooms have gas fireplaces and a view of the creek. Guests enjoy the comfort of a large parlor, dining room with a gas fireplace, and a beautiful all season sun room with gas stove. During the 1800s, the inn was a plaster mill and later a lumber mill. Around 1917, this lovely old mill with its 2 1/2-foot thick stone walls was converted to a two-family home. It wasn't until 1982 that the Garbutt Mill, which was a private residence, became the Genesee Country Inn. The inn is close to Rochester, Letchworth State Park, Niagara Falls, many museums, art galleries, colleges and universities. Also The Genesee Country Village and Museum, less than a mile from the inn, is the third largest living museum in the country where visitors can experience craftsmen demonstrating the trades of life in the 1800s. ... more   less
