I love this place! The hostess (Deborah) and host (Richard) are most accommodating. The breakfasts are always hearty and nutritious. The facilities are well maintained and the rooms are beautifully appointed. This inn was originally a mill. It has been beautifully converted in a wonderful facility. The grounds are also very beautiful and scenic.

I personally am driven to find the closest thing to "home" when I travel. That entails being comfortable to the point of actually forgetting that I am even away. Not an easy task for any Innkeeper to achieve, but that is exactly how I feel from the moment I arrive at the Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast till I...

Our entire experience at this inn was amazing! The innkeepers are very friendly, outgoing, and personable, and Deb is such a great cook! We stayed two nights, so both breakfasts were truly memorable. The first morning was a baked pancake served with maple syrup and homemade cider syrup -- delicious! The second morning featured eggs with bread bought from a...

The property is so peaceful, and the owner is so attentive, that I felt that we were being spoiled. Great getaway for the night, very comfortable bed, awesome breakfast, we'll definitely do it again! Loved it!

I just spent the weekend hiking in Letchworth State Park with my family and in-laws. That of course was amazing, but the experience was surpassed by the fabulous time we all had at the Genesee Country Inn, hosted by Richard and Deb. GREAT food, great service, and great conversation, all encompassed by a wonderfully antique and serene environment. I'm from...

My husband surprised me with an overnight getaway. The service and hospitality were superb. We have stayed at various B&Bs over the years but this one is our new favorite. Deb and Richard's commitment to quality shine through. From the beautiful furnishings, immaculate rooms and plush towels down to handling diet restrictions and arriving to homemade cookies warm from the...

Deb and Rich were great hosts for our stay at the Genesee Country Inn in Mumford, NY. Their inn is beautifully decorated, the adjoining property relaxing, and the rooms very comfortable. The breakfast prepared by Deb was delicious. Another stay is a must in the future.

We've stayed in several B&B's but I have to say that this was the best! Deb and Richard are wonderful hosts. The rooms are all beautiful...and they leave the doors open to the vacant rooms and welcome guests to check out the other rooms. I love that! Don't you always want to see what the other rooms look like? Some...

Thank you so much for your kind words. Richard and I work very hard to provide the best bed and breakfast experience that we can. I do have to admit, the roses were beautiful. Some of the best we have received for our guests. And who can say enough about Oliver's Chocolates? We are very happy that you enjoyed your...

We stayed at this charming place for 3 nights while visiting the area. Having never stayed at a B&B we were't sure what to expect. Though we arrived a bit late in the evening, our keys and instructions to our room were placed in the mailbox. As we were missing a few items in our room we called the owners...

We stayed for two days and the place is incredible. Lots of rooms, all of them with bathrooms, we stayed in one overlooking their stunning yard with a view of their private water fountain and gazebo. The first morning's breakfast was a baked pancake the likes of which I've never tasted and our host Deborah's specialty. She and her husband...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Genesee Country Inn Bed and Breakfast, built in 1833in Mumford near Rochester, New York, is situated on Spring Creek, a trout stream where guests can enjoy private fly fishing or relax by the mill pond. The inn has ten distinctly, comfortably decorated bedrooms, all with private baths, air-conditioning, telephones, hair dryers, and TV/DVD players. The king suite enjoys a beautiful view of the gardens, fountain, and mill pond. The garden rooms have gas fireplaces and a view of the creek. Guests enjoy the comfort of a large parlor, dining room with a gas fireplace, and a beautiful all season sun room with gas stove. During the 1800s, the inn was a plaster mill and later a lumber mill. Around 1917, this lovely old mill with its 2 1/2-foot thick stone walls was converted to a two-family home. It wasn't until 1982 that the Garbutt Mill, which was a private residence, became the Genesee Country Inn. The inn is close to Rochester, Letchworth State Park, Niagara Falls, many museums, art galleries, colleges and universities. Also The Genesee Country Village and Museum, less than a mile from the inn, is the third largest living museum in the country where visitors can experience craftsmen demonstrating the trades of life in the 1800s. ... more   less
