Hit and miss. Friday night great, Saturday night a loud shouting group of young local populace took room next door and carried on from 1:00am to 4:30am. Smoke in non-smoking room, slamming doors, music, coming and going...I called front desk at 1:30am, phone rang 100 times, and a clerk obvious just woken up mumbled something about calling them, and then nothing happened. In fact it got worse. I was there with my wife on business at that hotel, now my wife refuses to go back (can't blame her), but that screws my ability to do business there in the future, which I have to do.
Stopped on my way driving from Florida to NH. Room was stale smelling, the a/c stopped working at 3 am, I awoke to ants on the bedside table. I should have complained to the desk next day, but just wanted to get out of there. I will probably never stay at a Ramada again
The Sunday evening event was recommended by other ELKS Brothers in Poughkeepsie. We gave it a try. Many of the "Mostly Senior Dancers" we met at the Elks lodge were in attendance. Roughly 70 people attended the Sunday event. The Buffet was very large and good. But everything was served at once. You had to grab the salad, choice of meal and desert all at once. Ya needed 3 hands for all the plates. That said, you really could make three trips, gather all the food and then sit down to eat. They seemed to remove the buffet table rather quickly. But how much should/could Seniors eat anyway. It was definitely worth the trip from Beekman area across the river. Cash bar was open and reasonable priced, Barmaid was very nice and friendly. Sure, we had fun and will return.
Our room was freezing, dirty and in disrepair. Not properly set up for handicapped individuals either. No elevator. If your room is on the 2nd floor and you have multiple bags, be prepared to get a workout.
Only place I have been in recently that still allowed smoking in the rooms. Bar was good and the breakfast was ok. They had a couple of leaks due to a heavy snow a couple of days before but were working on it.
