I took this place because it was close to Gore. It is only a five minute drive to the mountain. I took the duplex room. It was perfect. Downstairs was the sitting area with a sofa bed, mini fridge and full bathroom. Upstairs had the king size bed and a very large bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. I placed my college age son downstairs and I stayed upstairs. After skiing I took a hot jacuzzi bath. The owner tries to make it a bit upscale by adding some classy touches such as bath salts, paper slippers for walking inside. The hotel restaurant was very good. I had the short ribs for dinner which were very moist and flavorful. The hotel has a nice common area with fireplace and chairs. The owner just took over and is doing her best to make everyone feel comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. …
We spent 4 nights there, in a beautifully kept suite, where the owner/manager made us feel very welcomed. We had total access to her, in case we needed anything. The first night we went out to dinner, (because of Covid they were closed Monday and Tuesday nights). and the first restaurant we went to had very few vegetarian options, maybe just one. So we left. We went to another (German) restaurant and I ordered a salad and it was terrible. I took 2 bites and had to leave it. My husband chose some meat dish, which he ate but was not very impressed with the way it was cooked. We asked for out check, paid and left, The following night we bought some cheese, veggies and wraps and made our own dinner in our room. Finally they opened up for dinner on our third night and it was very good. Service was super nice, staff was in general very nice. Our forth night we ate there again and it was the same nice experience. The place is very big and beautiful. Everybody was super nice and we will for sure go back next time we go skiing at Gore Mtn. The reviews to the right must have been for the former owners. We were treated very well. Covid and all, everybody was super nice to us. There's a super nice gym with saunas and machines, very very clean. There's a really nice swimming pool which of course due to the winter, we didn't use. Will definitely return.…
Room was quite nice, clean. Food - only had breakfasts. No host or server in dining room 15 minutes after opening. Server was pleasant and accommodating to my requests. Hash browns were cold, eggs and pan cakes okay. People in room next to mine had a horrific drunken fight - screams, crashing furniture and the last straw was a dog barking loudly. Calls to the front desk got no response - impossible to leave a message. I called 911. Police arrived at 2am, knocked on the door for some time were there until 3am. The man injured his hand badly enough to require treatment at near-by clinic. At breakfast the next morning, believing the management to be irresponsible, I asked for the night's logging to be reimbursed. That was denied. Early that afternoon the manager told me if I left right away that they would reimburse me for all four nights. I asked for a few minutes to think about it. Within 5 minutes there was a knock on my door. The manager said that they were withdrawing the offer. One last thing, I had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and I would have given it an excellent rating across the board.…
Unfortunately our stay was horrible. We arrived to a dirty room with only a sheet on the bed and a dirty blanket in the closet. Our "air conditioning" was a portable unit with a hose running out an open window that lead to the pool area that was closed to guests but appeared to have a private group partaking in a party with load music coming into my open window. People were running in and out of the back door directly next to our room dripping wet and not following any masking guidelines what so ever. This was not the place for us. Please do not be fooled by the hefty price tag that you think would accompany a nice inn. Definitely 4 a star price tag for a one star stay.
We were attending a function in the area and needed a room for the night. We arrived at 2PM to check in and waited for over 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. We knew that check-in wasn't until 3PM but wanted to get a key since we wouldn't return until later that evening. On our return to the hotel we realized no room number was assigned to us so again, we had to wait since no one was at the front desk. We finally went to the restaurant to get assistance. Also, on our way out in the morning, you guessed it, no one at the front desk! In the room we found the following: Only enough coffee for one (There was a small pot by the front desk but it never had coffee in it); The sliding shower door was difficult to open; Water stains were visible on the ceiling; The bath towels were smaller than standard (Usually hotel towels are larger than home towels); Also, if you like to watch a little television your in luck; one of the smallest flat screens I've seen in a hotel was on the wall. The point I'm making is that, while each item (except manning the front desk!) was not critical they start to add up. You shouldn't charge 5 star prices when you act like a 2 star hotel. Now, I understand that the hotel has recently gone through a change of ownership and maybe they might get the bugs ironed out, I suggest they do it quickly.…
