Just got home from a four-night ski trip at Gore Mountain and had a fantastic stay at Black Mountain Lodge! Although the offerings in the area were somewhat limited due to COVID-19, the owners at BML went out of their way to make sure that we had the best time absolutely possible. Less than 10 minutes away from the ski resort, the rooms were warm and clean, the beds comfortable with crisp, soft sheets and covers, the bathrooms spotless with plenty of warm water for a family of four to shower after a long day on the slopes. The best part was the restaurant, open with limited seating for dine-in, and with few but all very delicious options to choose from. We had jumbo wings and burgers one night, and steak & shrimp and salad another night, all excellent...arguably one of the best places to dine in the area! They even gave us fried gyoza potstickers and house-made chips on the house while we were sipping on our Adirondack IPA's waiting for our food. The staff stayed up late caring for us during dinner and up early every morning to prepare free grab & go breakfast bags for us to take back to our rooms while we were getting ready to hit the slopes. I would definitely recommend staying here for a great family experience while skiing at Gore Mountain and will stay here again next time I visit the area.…
My family and I were looking for a safe getaway during Covid. We couldn’t have been happier with the Black Mountain Lodge. Everything was immaculate and the staff was so helpful and friendly. So close to Gore Mountain. We’ll definitely be back!!
I have traveled the world for over thirty years and I look forward to the Mom & Pop type establishments. The Lodge itself has all brand new everything. Beds, bath, furniture etc.. The staff is the “go the extra mile type “ that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s home being pampered. Sharon and Marti have the genuine “what can I do for you” attitude. The new owners scored big time with this couple. Marti will throw together any twists to the menu he can. Sharon bends over backwards with the rest of the staff to make you feel at home. You can go major chain and just be another number or stop at Black Mountain and feel like your their only concern. All meals were excellent !!!
My partner and I stayed at Black Mountain Lodge over Labor Day weekend and had an amazing time. The pictures are very accurate, and the rooms are clean and charming. The hotel has new owners as of a few years ago, and I strongly suspect that if the reviews from the prior owners were still active they’d have more stars. You can tell the staff goes out of their way to pay personal attention to every guest: providing complimentary breakfast made to order, making suggestions for activities around town, etc. I am already planning to come back in wintertime for a ski trip and would highly recommend Black Mountain Lodge. One small note for those considering booking a stay: This is a mom & pop hotel. If you’re arriving late at night call in advance and let them know! The owners will be staying up until all reserved guests arrive, and I know they’d appreciate the warning :)…
The facility was very updated and very clean . The managers, Sharon and Marty, were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Free home cooked breakfast each morning. restaurant very clean and inviting. Nicely located not far from Lake George, around the corner from Gore Mountain.
