What a pleasant time we spent at this resort. The staff is just the best, super super friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and clean. Ours had two wc's, two rooms and a kitchen. Restaurants are as expected on a resort. A beautiful island.

Arrived back from this hotel on the 12/04/2017 after a two week holiday. Overall my wife and I (70 years old) were pleased with the hotel. We found all the staff to be pleasant and very obliging. Hotel guests are given a suit with a double and twin room. It also has a sitting room with a kitchen area and...

Don't go to this hotel thinking it is a 5* holiday. Immigration at the airport was very slow and airport staff would not let anyone through as there was some confusion over the Thomson Visa's system. Even after being delayed 45 minutes due to Visa's and one of our party having there suitcase left in Birmingham and the delay trying...

It all started with a nice surprise: we were upgraded to a 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms villa (small garden + pool) for our family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids). The hotel is nice and clean, mattresses are of good quality. BUT that is about it.... The lack of smile from personnel (not all of them of course!)...

We went at the end of March, beginning of April. The weather was lovely and warm but very windy and chilly at night (take a light jacket). Everyone was swimming, pools were cold, but this did not stop people swimming Inc all the kids. The setting for this hotel is lovely, cobbled paths and low buildings. We had a huge...

The resort was constructed approx. 8 years ago & is starting to show its age. Our apartment had a urine stained double mattress & the pillows were all frayed & like bullets. Towels in the apartment & at the pool side were threadbare & needed to all be replaced with new towelling. If our two bed apartment was anything to...

Just back from a week at Melia Tortuga and we all enjoyed it very much. Not 5 star but still very good. Food of usual standard for an all inclusive and the staff do try their best. Lovely large apartments set in a village setting. Beautiful gardens and very clean. Although only away for 1 week, it did feel like...

As close friends, my wife and I, together with two other couples, returned last week from a fourteen night stay at the Melia Tortuga on Sal. On the back of wonderful previous spring trips to Sharm El Sheikh ( 6 Years ) and the Gran Melia Hotel on Tenerife, we were looking forward to our venture to Cape Verde. Having...

Like most people I read reviews before I travel and had my doubts but firmly believe a holiday is what you make it and if you expect the worst then you can't be surprised if that's what you get. I took on board the comments (good and bad) and was very pleasantly surprised. The resort is lovely and very well...

Melia Tortuga is in a beautiful location. The beach bar location is stunning both during the day but comes into its own at sunset. You can walk along the beach to Santa Maria, approx 90 minutes. But well worth the effort, the views are stunning. We did not swim in the ocean, the water is bracing, but a small lagoon...
