W e stayed here last week for 5 nights, a very warm welcome from Paule , the outside area and reception were immaculate as was our spacious room with sea view and balcony. We had breakfast included which was lovely plenty of choice. Vanessa and Paule cooked us fresh eggs whilst helping us out with suggestions and information about where to go and what to do - what a lovely pair of ladies they really are a credit to the guest house. They came and changed our bedding after only a couple of nights , cleaned the room and left fresh flowers in there, they even noticed I liked to read so left me a novel to read. They made us feel really special and honestly couldn't do enough for us. The location was about 25 mins walk from Beau Vallon with a regular bus service 5 minutes walk from the hotel, there was also plenty of local shops and a restaurant within easy walking distance. We will definitely be back with the whole family. Great value for money

We booked this vacation rental relatively late with not too many options left. However, Cecile the owner was very helpful and proposed the best available solution to us. This included the possibility to change our apartment from the ground floor to the first floor after the second night.
We arrived early morning from the airport so we were immediately offered with breakfast and our apartment was prepared soon. For budgetary reason we decided to take one apartment only despite our concern that the small bedroom may be too small for our two teenage daughters. But the room did serve the purpose and together with the large bedroom we had no shortage of living space. The rooms were simply but adequately furnished, beds were comfortable and the rooms and bathroom were always clean.
Breakfast was served in the first floor dining room and was a good start for the day with coffee or tea, fresh juice, fresh local fruits, locally made jams with toast and eggs of your choice. There is a large fridge with freezer and coffee making facility in the small bedroom but there is no self cooking facility so you have to dine out.
As we were promised we moved into one of the first floor apartments from the third night onwards. To be accurate, we didn't have to do anything - we left our ground floor apartment in the morning and returned to the first floor one in the evening - all our belongings were shifted by the staff. Here Ocean View really stands for its name; you have almost 180 degrees view on the Bel Ombre Bay.
Ocean View is located just 20 minutes walk from the popular Beau Vallon. However, a car rental is a must if you want to explore as much as possible of Mahe. Walking or driving to the other direction and parking your car at the La Scala Restaurant will offer you a stunning trekking path which takes you to Anse Major, a beautiful beach with full privacy. The trail which has medium difficulty, takes you through the granite cliffs over the aquamarine waters and you need about an hour and a half to reach Anse Major. Take plenty of water with you but even if don't, you will find fresh spring water on your way. If you are too lazy to take the return path you will find a speed boat with driver or at least his mobile number at Anse Major who can drop you back to Bel Ombre in 15 minutes for EUR 10 per person.
Last but not least the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff members shall be mentioned who contributed to our memorable stay.

This part of Mahe has the best beaches. Ocean View Guest house has 2-4 amazing rooms on the top floor with ocean view. Must reserve those!

Summary:

+ Excellent location
+ 5 mins walk from beach, 7 mins drive from better beach
+ excellent staff, especially Vanessa !
+ good breakfast
+ important: get ocean view room on second floor

Tip: eat buffet for 305 rupees/person at hotel/restaurant up the street (go right as you get out) -- cheap good buffet, much cheaper than any place.

I stayed in Ocean View 6 nights in a ground floor room during my stay in Mahe for scuba diving. Room was like a small apartment with self catering facilities which was good considering that Seychelles are not a cheap destination. Mattress was a little bit two soft, linen and towels were changed twice during my stay.Guest house is not far from Beau Vallon you can either take a bus (5 rupees) or walk (sometimes even faster) 15 minutes. The room was clean there was AC in the bedroom and fan in the living room. Breakfast was good and the Two ladies in charge were helpful and kind, you can ask them to do your laundry if you need to. There is an option to have diner as the other guest house Beach house transport is provided by the guesthouse, or there is Casa Dani buffet 2 min walk up road, which is Ok and has a free but slow wifi connection if you eat there.

We were delighted with Ocean View Guesthouse. It is excellent value for money. We just got back from a week's stay (July 2013) and couldn't fault any aspect.
Vanessa and the other lady in the kitchen were really helpful and trustworthy. They cleaned the room beautifully every day and kept the apartment from turning into the Sahara what with all the sand we would bring back from the beach! The nearest beach is about 5 mins walk, but it is small, especially at high tide. Beau Vallon is 15 mins walk along the main road (relatively busy for Seychelles standards) and restarants can also be found here.
There is plenty of car parking even if all the apartments have rented cars.
We stayed in Takamaka room which we thought would be a double but actually had an extra bedroom attached which was useful for us to store our things (even though there would have been enough room in the main room anyway). the bathroom is in good working order. There is a safe in the room and bars on all the windows so when you're out there are no worries about security. The views from the balcony were amazing, we watched lots of sunsets from there.
We had a meal by the owner at the Beach House one night. Transport was provided free of cost and the meal was one of the best we had in a great location!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Positives:
Breakfast is the best we had.
Quite, easy to find, location with great views.
Clean, well-kept rooms.
Helpful staff.

Negatives:
There was some noise from dogs in neighbouring houses but this was the only issue we found, and nothing that could fault the owners of the guesthouse.

We have found this place unexpectedly very nice - big spacious rooms(you get 2 bedroom apartment basically) for 3 persons. You have your very own safebox, locks on every door inside, a big TV(but with just 2 local channels - but who needs it at all ?:)), spacious bathroom, a balcony with 2 chairs, a big king size bed and of course a great view at the ocean.
However, this place is not so easy to find so you should clarify it's exact location with the owners or personnel.
People serving you are very friendly and kind - they are there to help you with any problem which may arise. Special thanks goes to Paul - the best host that we've ever seen so far.
They have a parking lot for 3-4 cars.
The only cons are the nearby road and birds(or bats) which are always there not to let you sleep deeply :) - but you can get rid of those noises by just closing the balcony's door ;)
Airconditioner is present.
Room cleaning takes place every day.
You have an option to have a great BBq in the evening with 4 different types of ocean fish(3 pieces of each) for 2 persons(17 Euros per person). The guy who makes the BBq is fantastic - meat is juicy and well fried.
So i can definitely recommend this place to guests with car - since the location itself is far not the most convinient.
As for the WiFi Internet - you can just go to Choice Villa - same owners and catch there free Meridien(Fishermen's Cove - if im not mistaken) WiFi network - the speed is great, signal is stable.
Hope the above info helps ;)

Positive:
- friendly personnel
- nice rooms – we had a great view over Baie Beau Vallon – sleeping room, bath room and an additional room with a bed and a fridge, balcony
- free wifi (although slow)
- breakfast was yummy - coffee/tea, glass of juice, toast, jam, eggs your style, fruits
- 30 meters down the main road is the bus stop (line 21 to Victoria)
- rental car company on „speed dial“ – reservation and take-over/return was very easy
- free parking on the premises (gated)
Negative:
- wifi is very slow – web pages would not open, but Whatsapp was working „ok“
- a little bit noisy in the mornings (lots of dogs and roosters around)
- buses run only until 7pm and on the weekend the service is less frequent – better bring your own car or rent it there

We stayed for a couple of nights on reaching Seychelles, in December 2012, before proceeding to La Digue. The guest house was a perfect starting point which reflected everything good about Seychelles- friendly people, good guides, homely, cheerful, relaxed, private, quiet and pleasant.
Vanessa and her colleague looked after us very well. We got a great breakfast, the rooms were always clean and well maintained. You have plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. You are right next to a small beach and rarely disturbed by any hustle bustle. On the flipside it is quite a distance from Beau Vallon beach and Victoria town with a rather infrequent bus service.

Mahe offered a plethora of options and having stayed at another one on our way out we realized how good, economic and comfortable this guest house was. We also got an additional room (stayed in Kapisen) though our booking was for just one double bed room. If you are looking for a nice, quiet and economic option then you have the right choice in the Ocean View Guest House.

We stayed here for 6 nights on Honeymoon. Cecile is a lovely owner, but sadly we didn't see her very much as she has other guesthouses; it would have been nicer to be welcomed by the owner immediately otherwise you feel a bit lost. The area is also a little quiet and a bit shabby, not what we were expecting. Apparently Beau Vallon/Bel Ombre is the place to be on Mahe but we found it shabby and a little rough. You are also cut off from the rest of the island, you have to go over the hill to Victoria every day before you can access the rest of Mahe. The rooms were very nice and clean at Ocean View, and our balcony view was excellent. We spent every night with a glass of Takamaka Bay rum watching the sun set over Silhouette Island. Although the room was big, the fixtures weren't great. The shower has periods where it doesn't go hot (water pressure issue they said), the bathroom tap was broken (but they fixed it the day we noticed) and the aircon seemed to only have on or off, the temp didn't change. There is a second bedroom with a fridge and kettle, but not really enough of a kitchen to truly cook for yourself. We actually ended up eating and renting a car at the Villa Dani up the hill. Overall, could be a lovely place, and Cecile would be lovely owner, if it wasn't let down by a few annoyances.

I found this place with the help of reviews through sites search. Everyone was saying that Cecile, who takes care of the guest house, is a nice person. I guess it was the main reason, why we chose that place. And i saw the pictures, the pictures turned out exactly the same in the reality. The house has really nice style, really clean, island spirit. And Cecile helps us to find the best solution with the rooms. Paule who works with another lady in this house are really welcoming and friendly hostesses. I thank them one thousand times. The view is true - blue ocean!!! from all the angles, so don't worry if you will get even ground floor room. If you don't have the ability to drive the car as us, buses are the best budgetary choice. They will take you at every point of the island, and where there are no roads, there are your feet, just take the water and sunblock. There are a lot of beautiful beaches and places around the island, take the opportunity to visit them all. And people, the best what has island. It seems they don't have much, but they appreciate what they have. I visited around 20 countries and people from Seychelles are the top of my the most friendly nation, even children are so smiley. You will not regret if you will choose this "view"! ;))) good luck and nice staying
