We stayed for one night. Nice location by the river. Parking in the street outside. Simple and comfortable room, good bed and good shower. Very nice attention and the menu at the restaurant for the guests, was really, really tasty.

Hotel de La Treille, right on the Dordogne River. Wonderful people, a popular, excellent restaurant, all around very nice place to stay, near Sarlat. Highly recommended!

Staying in this hotel for a few nights. Came on Wednesday and decided to eat in the restaurant- WOW- what a superb meal we had- we had as an appetizer Green Asparagus with cream sauce- so delicious!!! We then had a Pork dish with some caramelized sauce and some side potatoes crispy on the outside and melts in your mouth on the inside- heaven!!! We then had Apple pie aka mode- so gooood!!! They also gave as a little fish of melon with some fruit liquor that was so refreshing and a nice surprise! We highly recommend this place- will beat some of the most highly rated restaurants in NYC- any day.......

The restaurant is very good, but I wouldn't recommend the hotel. It is very clean and conveniently located near Sarlat, but if you are looking for an "hôtel de charme" this is not the right choice. The welcome was rather cold and the breakfast was overpriced. Although the hotel is located near a junction, the place is quiet and the noise is not a problem. The real problem for us was the quality of our bed. It was tiny and the mattress was sunken and so uncomfortable that every morning I got up with backache. It definitely needs a change!

After spending a couple of nights ina 1* hotel in Belvès which was excellent, we thought that La Treille would be a remarkable step up. Yes, in prices for rooms and for the restaurant- both well overpriced for quality and the wine list even more so. The welcome was without warmth, we were given the annexe because of new acclimatisation being fitted in the room we would have had. It was near to the river and was extremely cold and damp (even though it was May), although very clean and recently modernised. We used our car travel rug over the mattress so that the bed was warm. Parking at an hotel between two busy junctions was difficult - in summer practically impossible. We could not possibly recommend this hotel to anyone other than the desperate. There was a similar lack of warmth on paying the account and our departure,

I wonder if we really stayed at the same hotel as the previous reviewer? Can things really have changed that much in a year?

First of all the hotel is located on a dangerous corner of a main road (with no pavement, so on has to dodge the traffic to get to the front entrance) in the middle of nowhere. OK, the river is not far away but you can hardly see it from the hotel or it's small grounds.

Our welcome was totally charmless (in complete contrast to everywhere
else we stayed in France). The room was smelly thanks to the presence
of the type of lavatory which has an electric pump to grind and dispose of waste material... It was also on the front of the building
with two windows overlooking the dangerous road corner.

At night, it was very hot (and smelly) but we could not have the windows open because of the constant roar of traffic. There was a portable air conditioner in the room but it did not provide any cool air even on the maximum, and very noisy, setting.

To add insult to injury, we both got up the following morning - after the worst night's sleep imaginable - to find that we were covered with bed bug or flea bites.

Never again!

The delightful Hotel Plaisance (a Logi de France) opposite seemed a much better bet if one was forced to stay in this location. The evening menu was cheaper too!

A most wonderful stay in a truly wonderful village. The view from La Trielle is amazing. It is a steep walk to the accommodation and is not recommended for elderly or disabled people. Mr and Mrs Banetti do no speak English but never the less were very friendly and helpful.

We happened on this hotel while looking for a base for exploring the region. Vitrac Port is a very small community along the river--out of the way but central to most tourist sites and is quiet due to its not being squeezed between river and cliff. We had a large corner room overlooking the river--spacious, clean, and wifi worked. The hotel card lists rooms at two different prices; we had the higher one for only 8 euros more. Were directed to park car on short street leading to fishing spot just behind the hotel--no cost and very convenient. Dinner was excellent--one of the best on our trip. Breakfast was about average and featured carafes of coffee and milk rather than our preferred from an espresso machine. Owners were businesslike, not overly friendly but most courteous. We plan to stay here again.

Stopped here for lunch with a group. One of the best meals we had. For appetizer - a poached egg with morel sauce, main course - tournedo of duck with cherry sauce and for dessert cassis sorbet with strawberries. Everything delicious and enjoyed in a beautiful setting - both the dining room and the view. Strongly recommend - worth a detour.

I cannot comment on the hotel but the food was incredible!! My husband ordered the duck and I had the cod. Both were among our most memorable all-time dishes. And the appetizers and desserts were also unbelievable. The restaurant is listed in the Michelin Red Guide and it deserves at least that if not a star or two. If you are anywhere nearby, do not miss out on a dining experience you will not soon forget!

bonjour, Vous pouvez effectivement vous garer dans l'impasse derrière l'hôtel, qui mène à la rivière. C'est tranquille et il y a suffisamment de places.
