My husband and I stayed at La Fargo for 2 nights as part of a Pyrenees cycling tour, with 10 other mad cyclists! When we arrived down the long driveway, we soon realised what an amazing oasis La Fargo was. Surrounded by endless fruit trees and vines, we were able to freely sample the wonderful figs, grapes, apples and pomegranates grown by our lovely hosts. After cycling the big climbs in the Pyrenees, the beautiful swimming pool and large, stylish rooms were incredibly welcome! We had dinner and breakfast both days of our stay and everyone in the group was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food and wine. Everyone who worked at La Fargo was more than helpful to our large group, and went out of their way to accommodate us. We will certainly be returning, and will be recommending La Fargo to friends and family who travel through the region.

We did not stay here but had a great dinner here while staying in the Corbieres. Reservations are a must. We joined a line of cars at 8 pm snaking up the driveway through the misty field to be warmly welcomed and ushered to our table where a carafe d'eau and olives were waiting. This is an innovative chef who cultivates a casual, almost California-style elegance. Definitely a great place to experience the best of laid-back Languedoc. Great value -- prix fixe about 30-35 Euros. Seek this out if you are near Lagrasse.

I can honestly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking peace and quiet, a relaxing time and the respect of like minded guests as the relaxed atmosphere appears to wash over the entire estate. Beautiful scenery, hospitable owners and staff and delicious food!

Having been bitten by the closing hours on Sundays of pretty much everything, we were ravenous when we arrived at Fargo - the setting was lovely, (we had booked hours before, which is advisable) eating in the kiwi fruit covered courtyard.
We weren't staying there but the hotel itself looked well run and appointed and residents made up a few large tables eating that evening.
the food quality was excellent - oysters from nearby Leucate (Mediterranean saltiness) to start were beautifully fresh and served with a blob of wasabi (probably unnecessarily) but the rabbit confit was superb.
this isn't fine dining, but we weren't looking for that - instead we wanted to find a good local restaurant using locally sourced ingredients, cooked well with a good atmosphere - this was it, and on leaving we rebooked for later that week.

This was a wonderful stay. The staff, the room, the food & wine all really perfect. Staff really friendly and helpful. The 'infinity' swimming pool beautiful and enjoyable. The surroundings & setting is so calm. A great place to stay for family with children as well as couples. I will be returning in about 2 weeks and am really looking forward to my stay.

We visited the Cathares region as well as La Clape for wines in April 2004. We stayed with a group of 7 in La Fargo: that was agreat experience both for the region and also for the friendly atomosphere and the menu. Reading the recent articles I see that the notoriety only increases and now there is a swimming pool, which was not the case 10y ago.

This hotel is now a "B&B" the restaurant is closed, so no lunch or dinner. You have to make your own bed, which at those prices is outrageous. The owner is charming, but beaten down by the French laws and regulations, which make running such an establishment a loosing proposition. The place is beautiful, furnished with southeast Asian "colonial" furniture if diverse origins. Excellent breakfast. A nice pool which is a great asset in the heat of summer.

I've been here twice - such a great restaurant. It's set back from the road and hidden away behind beautiful gardens. They grow a lot of their own veg. Delightful staff, wonderful food, and the setting is magnificent. Cannot rate it highly enough!

We ate here for 1 night on the recommendation of a family member as we were staying in Saint Laurent and it was a short car journey there. The atmosphere was fabulous, relaxed and charming and the service second to none. We had a stunning meal and even though we had between us 6 children they were made feel extremely welcome and were able to make themselves scarce around the beautiful grounds so as not to annoy other diners after their meal.
