Location:
Pros:
It is excellent location in center all bars, restaurant and cable car is very very close to hotel
Cons:
Not accessible via taxi to reach till hotel, also not much signs on how to reach hotel, for first time visitor it is hard to find hotel....it has two access from bottom of hill near Hotel "NiKi" and from top next to restaurant "IDOL"

Rooms:
Pros:
Cave experience is good, how they fit luxury in combination with traditional cave room is amazing
Cons:
We took junior suits which is lowest level of hotel, they have only 2 junior suits room no. 4 and room no. 8, our room no was 4, that has the worst view to caldera the stairs are blocking the view from hot tub. This is never clear from photos published on website.

Also hot tubs was not working well always, sometimes LED was not turning up at night and also the filter was running too long to clean the water.

Other disadvantage is the bad smell coming from restaurants exhaust nearby.
My advice never take any room on lowest level of hotel, it is a waste of money.

Other biggest concern was you can't enter the room with wet foot or wet body in your room otherwise whole room will be wet for many days, it takes lot of time to dry the room

Staff:
Staff is really friendly and helpful, specifically manger and cleaning lady Melina. Other staff is also very good.

Manager offered me lots of advice for nearby places and also free cocktail as a compansation of my complain towards bad views of caldera.

Melina became friend to my 5 year old son and she was loving him like her own son. Nice to meet kind people like her. She was cleaning everyday with best effort and arranging new shampoos, towels etc.

No complaint about staff.

Breakfast:
It is basic due to Corona situation but still was really good, we were vegetarian so for us anyhow options are limited but they have something for us and serving was amazing.

Decent place. With the usual selection of Greek food on the menu. Great view. I gave it a 3 star because the owner upsold something which we didn't order. Ordered shrimp tempura and was delivered a platter which had the shrimp and some falafel (and something else- which I don't remember). We didn't think much of it- except it is a general accompaniment. When the bill was presented, it said 25EUR instead of the 14EUR dish we had ordered. Though the owner did try to argue for about a minute he quickly conceded and rectified the amount. But it still left a bad taste. An upgrade goes a long way but not when you are asked to pay for it- without being asked for.

Overall this was a really nice place to spend for the money. Breakfast was delicious each morning and the staff is more than willing to help with anything. The hot tub is a nice amenity but it wasn’t steaming hot. The communication that there were 3 people staying here instead of 2 was not clear between the staff so there wasn’t any blankets or sheets for the 2nd bed. The staff member was very apologetic and made it right and went up to get the sheets in the night and made the bed for us. The view is beautiful too! Alex was working in the restaurant and was more than happy to make us anything we wanted to eat or drink and was very kind. Matthew is the manager and was also very personable and nice.

Absolutely incredible experience staying here during our trip to Santorini. The cave room with private balcony hot tub and sea view was an experience in itself. Central location is right in the middle of the caldera with incredible views from hotel restaurant, and in the middle of the restaurants and nightlife downtown (KOO club right across the street). Staff were available to carry our bags up and down to our room so stairs were not an issue. Sofia was responsible for our stay — follow her recommendations on nightlife and activities and you will not be disappointed! Would highly recommend On the Cliff Suites.

This is a hotel that is clearly extremely money hungry and does not see the long term benefit of keeping customers happy so that they rebook and also recommend to others. I booked a stay for this month and due to a national lockdown in the UK was unable to travel. The day the lockdown was announced was literally a day after my free cancellation period ended so I expected that given the circumstances I would be able to get my money back or at the very least a partial refund as there was still two weeks to go until my booking. I like many others, I can see, have been treated awfully by this hotel who have no compassion and simply do not care. I’ve contacted them numerous times to even see if I could change dates and nothing, when I called I was hung up on! I hope they are removed from booking.com.

We had booked to stay with this hotel 1 week prior to when we wanted to visit. During this 1 week the UK went into lockdown with all international travel banned and then later during that week Greece themselves also went into lockdown meaning you were not aloud to travel within the country, had to ask for permission to leave you accommodation and all restaurants/ bars/ shops had to shut. Naturally, you would assume with this sort of lockdown the hotel (like most others in the area) would shut due to them not being able to function like a proper hotel with a restaurant, clean your rooms etc. And also due to the fact most customers would not want to come to Greece during this time due to it not being safe.

On numerous occasions we tried to contact the hotel, with no response, we then asked booking.com to contact the hotel for us asking for a change of dates. We even said the hotel could pick the dates for sometime next year, we really didn't mind when we just didn't want to loose the money, which to us, was a lot. We totally understand that for the hotel to loose all of their bookings that would also be awful for the hotel, hence why to begin with we were simply asking for a date change or a credit note. Booking.com contacted the hotel on 4 occasions for us, as they agreed with us that the hotel was exploiting guests, sadly the hotel refused any option, including date change, credit note, refund or even partial refund, leaving us out of pocket almost £400.

I really wouldn't advise booking to stay at this hotel, when there are so many others which look out for their customers best interests and safety.

Please read our review carefully if you want to protect your wallet.

Facilities: cheap hotel for the high price you pay. Flies in the jacuzzi (it was not cleaned when we arrived, but only in the second day). Top electric curtains of the main door broken. The support of the the shower broken. The room slippers seemed to be in second hand (yellow color not white).

Service: don’t trust in the concierge named Sofia (blond girl) and hotel staff. She was very kind in the beginning, tried to show us the many things we can do in the island. However, she tried to charge us twice with the transfer, but she couldn’t because we showed evidence. However, she charged our first dinner in the hotel twice in the last day when we settled the pending accounts (only coffees). She insisted that we didn’t pay the dinner. Considering that we needed to leave and take the boat, we paid again and trusted her. During the trip to other island we found the ticket (evidence) that we paid twice. We send it to her by message and she apologised and said that the refund was made. Not true. We contact the main address (info@) with Sofia in copy and they were always asking more evidences to talk with the account department. So weeks passed and we became aware that we lost 36 euros (with tips!!). Be careful. Don’t trust in the pictures and easy talk. You have many other places to go in Santorini.

Wow! This hotel was an absolute dream! We had originally booked a hotel for 5 nights in Kamari but after visiting Fira we just had to book a night at On the Cliff for my partners birthday. Perfect photo taking place, it was honestly like living in luxury for the night. Normally we couldn’t afford somewhere like that but as it was only a night and booked so last minute we got a great deal. The bed was so comfy and the room service was fantastic. The staff were friendly and Sofia who greeted us was really friendly and knowledgable! The ‘private hot tub’ threw us off a little bit as they were right next to 2 other people’s so it wasn’t completely private but it was fine and we got used to it. The pork gyros and strawberry daiquiris were really nice and then at night we ordered strawberry’s and chocolate with sparkling wine and enjoyed them in the hot tub which was a real treat. I would absolutely love to come back and stay here for longer. Worth the money definitely :) The only negative thing I would say is that when you get out of the hot tub we had green marks on our swimming stuff, not sure what from but there was green marks around the side so maybe from that? Thanks so much for a great stay. Was nice to live like that even if only for one night.

In my opinion, awful customer care and communication.

My girlfriend and I had a 5 day trip booked for several months. My girlfriend is in her final year of medical school and missed her last exam due to COVID-19, which was rescheduled for the middle of our stay. We unfortunately had to mover or cancel our trip as a result.

We contacted the property over a month in advance to try and rearrange our holiday or request some form of refund. They refused to do either. We booked through booking.com who were very helpful in contacting the property as well to try and negotiate on our behalf. Our insurance did not cover 'education' so claiming on insurance wasn't an option unfortunately.

We were left with the only option but to keep our booking and try and sell to friends or family. We had two friends who were going to go on our behalf on the second day of our trip. However, on the Cliff Suites cancelled our booking and denied us this opportunity refunding us £6 from a total of £820 bill for the accommodation. They are now not replying to emails or calls.

To me, they were entirely unreasonable and obstructive to helping our situation. We were willing to postpone our trip by over a year but were told we couldn't do that. They showed a complete lack of regard for customer welfare and denied us the opportunity to get part of our money back from our holiday by selling to friends/family, when they cancelled our trip on the first day of the booking.

We will be going to Santorini next year instead, as other places we had booked allowed us to mover our dates. We will not be returning here.

Ordered a wrap with tuna, cucumber and onion, which took 45 minutes to come. This wrap then came with cabbage which I do not like and was not on the menu, we sent it back and explained but the staff were rude and unhelpful, no other wrap was made and we were forced to pay €8.50 for a wrap that was not eaten at all. Rude staff and bad service, avoid at all costs.
