The food at Katikies Garden is amazing. The breakfast is outstanding, with so many options and all so delicious. Great coffee and service. The lunch is expensive but very nice and we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of rose in our room on arrival.

The restaurant Selene is very expensive but absolutely outstanding - loved the atmosphere, the food, wine and service.

The main downside to the hotel was our room. Although very spacious and beautiful, our "sea view" was not a Caldera view but a very far away view of the sea on the other side. Not quite what we expected. To add insult to injury, our terrace with our plunge pool (which was freezing cold and unusable BTW) directly overlooked a very large school playground where over 100 children played 3 times per day. Consequently, we did not spend any time sitting on our terrace as it was extremely loud and off putting.

I really feel that when booking the room we should have been told that it overlooked a school and offered a reduced rate compared to other rooms of the same grade that did not have such disturbances.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left this hotel was absolutely fantastic.

We were greeted by the receptionist who was very informative about the hotel, location and sightseeing.

We then were taken to our Room 115 WOW! WOW! WOW! It was huge. High ceilings, beautiful decor and absolutely stunning.
The jetted tub was always beautifully warm 24 hours a day. The turn down service was fantastic leaving you evening treats.

The breakfast was gorgeous with so much variety both hot and cold, serving fresh juices each day.

The saline restaurant at night is outstanding. If you go you need to have the 10 course tasting menu it’s mind blowing. The saline staff are so informative about the food and history about each dish.

The pool area is beautiful and modern, the pool staff (George) were so friendly and welcoming. The pool is so cold but that didn’t stop us getting in. The food by the pool once again gorgeous.

Thank you for having us. We will be back and requesting room 115.

Thanks again x

The hotel was lovely, staff were lovely, breakfast amazing. However our experience was very similar to the honeymooners - in fact I think we may have been there at the same time and had the same issues with the room with a seaview etc. We had paid a not insignificant amount to upgrade to said seaview room with private tub. This description was misleading and a waste of money as we did not use the tub. The room was small and in fact overlooked the courtyard. To access the seaview and "private" tub we had to leave the room, climb up some stairs to a communal terrace which did have a seaview and also had several "private" tubs next to each other - each labelled with the room number of the muggins like us who had paid for the pleasure. It felt like we had been well and truly fleeced.

Spent six nights here in a Master Pool Suite at a cost of nine hundred euro per night. Our room was not really as described, smallish bedroom, no separate living area and bathroom and wardrobes downstairs, a treacherous stairs . Luckily we are fairly fit so we overcame the situation. We did have a garden with pool but I would advise you not to get this room.

While breakfast was good, service was very poor. Constantly asking for simple things, salt , serviette, milk , and on and on . We often asked three different people, to no avail. Indeed one morning I simply walked out it was so bad . I didn’t like to see restaurant staff been given out to by senior staff, well one senior staff member in particular berated the young staff, in front of guests.

Our room was rarely serviced during the day, evening turndown was always done however. We came back to hotel late one night, after a wedding, barely any toilet paper in toilet. We had room service twice , excellent service there and excellent food. We ate in our garden, the dirty dishes and cutlery were left till the following evening to be removed.

Pool area beautiful, with excellent service. Bar service excellent
We didn’t eat in the restaurant, probably a mistake but I feared service would be like breakfast.
We were told there are five Katikies hotels in Santorini, we were lucky we got to the right one the first night.
It was extremely difficult to get a taxi from hotel and involved a lot of walking.

It’s really important to know the amount of steps and stairs will make it almost impossible for a guest with the slightest mobility issues. Our experience here doesn’t fit with other peoples reviews, I would advise read all reviews very carefully, make sure you get the room you payed for and hopefully you will enjoy it more than we did .

Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review following your stay with us. It is our core belief and embedded in our company’s culture that it is only our guests’ honest feedback can help us evolve and further improve the quality of our services. To start with please accept our most sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Kindly note that our guests’ experience of the hotel is of foremost importance to us and by no means we would ever let a guest of ours to leave our property with nothing less but the perfect impressions. In that respect we were disheartened to read that your expectations of our property fell short in certain areas, and we wished to have learned about it during your stay so that we could have addressed them immediately. Regarding your comments on your room, kindly note that on our website, the room description is quite detailed and it is clearly mentioned that the specific suite has 2 levels. As for the breakfast, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused, as on this specific day you are mentioning we were understaffed, therefore you might have experienced a lapse in our services, however it is not the kind of service we offer to our guests. Moreover, allow us to express our surprise in regards to your comment on the senior staff member, as in any case we would allow this kind of behavior from any of our staff members. Concerning the room service and the pool service, we are glad to read that you remained satisfied with the service provided. Kindly note that the pool service is the same as the one provided at the breakfast. We have indeed five different hotels in the island of Santorini, and after having checked our records, we didn’t manage to find a reservation under your name in any of the rest of our Katikies hotels. Regarding your comments on the steps, please note that in Santorini, due to its particular construction on the cliff, the stairs are unfortunately unavoidable. At Katikies Garden, which is located in Fira Town, we must admit that the stairs are far less than any other hotel located in the caldera. Your comments and recommendations are highly respected and will certainly be taken into consideration for future improvements. Once again thank you for your feedback. We wished you have expressed your dissatisfaction while at your stay so that we could have take immediate actions to ameliorate your stay. We hope to have the chance of welcoming you back again and restore your faith to our brand. Kind regards, Katikies Garden Team

We were transferred to this hotel from a different one on the island which was not ready for us, we were lucky enough to spend 6 days here and it is beautiful. We had a large room with private garden and pool which was serviced well each day. The pool area is stunning with amazing views, very very relaxed atmosphere there and perfect for getting stuck into a good book. The staff were all lovely too, but onto the best bit. the FOOD! Breakfast was an epic experience every single morning, the pastry basket and the board with cheese, ham and little pie, its just fabulous, then they give you a lovely menu to choose your actual breakfast from which was exquisite, accompanied by a never ending refill of water, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee! The food at the pool was also very nice, we had a light lunch on two occasions, the sandwiches and salads were our favourites but the burger was good too! We also did eat in Solene, we have eaten at a high number of rosette and Michelin restaurants as my husband is a head chef proudly having rosettes himself, this wasn't our favourite one we have had but it was still a lovely evening. Downside was that we had to ask for menus, and the wine waiter was pushy and wouldn't just accept the wine we had chosen, we had to tell him 3 times which wine we wanted, eventually he stopped trying to sell us 600 euro ones and accept our choice. They kindly sorted our transport to various trips we had booked and onto our next hotel. This hotel is also in great location, walking distance to where the main area of Thira. Would highly recommend this hotel! Thank you for looking after us on our wondeful honeymoon

When we arrived at the airport the hotel simply drove us to their sister hotel in Oia and showed us a different room expecting us to just stay at a different hotel! They told us that they were having 'technical' problems and hence our honeymoon suite was unavailable. They didn't text or email or call, just expected us to put up with essentially them terminating our reservation that we spent about EUR 5,000 to celebrate our wedding. We also know they lied to us about what the ‘issue’ was because at the Oia hotel they said that it was the night before they were having issues and at the Fira hotel they said it has been going on for a couple of days! If the latter was the case then at minimum we should have been informed. It took us 4 hours to get our money back because they were having 'PoS issues' and only then because we got an independent taxi to take us to the other hotel and physically sorted out the refund. No apologies, no justification, just a f*ck you basically. It was a disgrace! They should be ashamed of themselves. In my entire travel experience this has never happened to me and after our wedding nonetheless. I am disgusted with the whole experience. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Stayed here for 10 days in September for our honeymoon. Overall a beautiful hotel and with many positives.
We arrived very late and were greeted by a very friendly guy on reception, he took us to our room but it wasn’t the room we booked(sea view with private tub). Next day we asked to move to a room we booked and to be honest it was hard work trying to sort it. In the end we didn’t get what we booked, on Jet2Holidays they show pictures of a room with a big patio area and a big room in general but in reality we got quite a small room and a small patio with the pool right next to our neighbours so absolutely no privacy. For a five star hotel you’d think they’d put a little more thought to where they put people especially ones that are staying for 10 days, we were also on our honeymoon and again no extra thought to that fact. The hotel manager said we have many different types of our grade room but they only have images of the best one. I appreciate many hotels do similar (showcasing the best image of a room) - the difference here though is that we fundamentally got a different room vs what we paid for - smaller room, limited space outside and absolutely no privacy (we couldn’t be in our pool at the same time as our neighbours as the two were basically connected).

The hotel staff were lovely, especially at the restaurant and the pool bar, so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.

The breakfast was incredible, the bread basket and a la carte choice was very good. The iced lattes and fresh orange juice every morning was a really nice touch.

The hotel decor and pool setting really is beautiful, it’s decorated so nicely and always kept clean.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, but the room situation for the price you pay is just too annoying so I don’t think we’d come back unfortunately.
We recommend that the hotel take more pictures of rooms to better showcase the choice, not just the best ones.

We had an amazing stay at Katikies Gardens Hotel in Fira Santorini. The hotel was transformed from a monastery to a gorgeous modern hotel. Beautifully designed and appointed...fabulous pool with a great view of the harbor and great customer/guest services. The hotel is just off the central shopping area but when you enter it you'd never know there were other people around. To add to the great experience a complimentary breakfast is served in the beautiful hotel courtyard. It begins with a great pastry basket and coffee when you sit down. This is followed by a terrific assortment of entries. All told we had a magnificent time at the Katie's Gardens.

Overall, everything was absolutely amazing being a 5-star hotel in Fira. The highlight was how accommodating the staff was (especially the front desk/reception). The staff there are what really help make the hotel a 5-star hotel. We did however have one minor issue with our private pool being dirty filled with bugs. Therefore, we couldn't really use the private pool at all. But the hotel infinity pool we did use and that was great. If they would attend to the private pool and garden a bit more or at least leave a pool net so guests can scoop up some of the bugs that find their way in the pool, then it would have been absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the maintenance crew arrived the day before we left. They cut the grass and cleaned the private pool but it was already too late for us to enjoy the exterior of our room.

This place is definitely not worth the price (maybe their other properties are but not this one).

When we checked in, they showed us the amenities and as we were heading to our room, they claimed they “upgraded” us to a senior suite room (I booked a junior suite) and when we walked in, it was clearly not an upgrade and the junior suite pictures actually looked much better. The room was located in the corner of the property next to the staff area and maybe cleaning supplies area? It was small and a bit cramped with no air flow, smelled like a moldy locker room, and was partitioned awkwardly to the bathroom with a very large step that I almost fell from, the floors did not look clean (especially the shower area) and there was one window very high up that could not be closed so no privacy from our convos and there were bugs flying in. It felt like a basement. Definitely was not an upgrade and we weren’t even sure if the room was cleaned thoroughly. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and after a long day of traveling tried to hop into bed. As soon as I moved the pillow, I saw that the sheets were not clean. There was hair under the pillows and brown stains of some sort. I rushed to the reception area to let them know and they said that they could get housekeeping to change the sheets. I asked to get the room that I originally had paid for and not the upgraded room. If that was an “upgrade” I didn’t want it. After waiting for the front desk to make some calls, they gave us another room. We walked in and it finally kind of looked like the junior room from the pictures. They apologized and comped a room service meal which I appreciated. They also said that this room had a “sea view”, which we could see a bit of but it was an obstructed by a tennis court and a wall. By the way, the hotel is located right next to a school so prepare for screaming children during the weekday and tons of traffic as parents pick up their kids.

We had breakfast one day there and they served a bread basket with some bread and 2 pieces of charcuterie, 2 pieces of pastries, and some juice. Staff were nice.

We went to the spa one day to ask what time the steam room opened and closed and the person at the desk said “I don’t know”??

Overall, the experience was very strange and again not worth the price. The staff were friendly for the most part but asked a lot of personal questions and were unsure of a lot of things most of the time. It felt like this hotel was trying to be a "5-star" hotel but lacked the experience and trained staff to do it. I also felt a bit scammed on the first day with the room that they placed us into and it didn’t sit right with me. While they did try to fix the situation by moving us to another room and comping our room service, I don’t feel that it was worth the trouble after all of that and was not happy that the hotel wasn’t clean.

The plus is that it is in a walkable location to the town and shops.

Definitely recommend staying somewhere else and maybe trying their other properties in different locations.
