We arrived on Santorini early via ferry and had arranged transportation to the Porto Fira which was seamless, so we were off to a great start! We were able to check-in early and offered a welcome drink by two bar men who were friendly, charming and happy to do anything for us. We were traveling with family and we selected a smaller junior suite and they had a senior suite. We were elated with our choice as the room had a chic, minimal style with Korres amenities that were generously replenished, in-room Nespresso machine, comfortable bed, and best of all....a view that we couldn't take your eyes off! Every morning I got up early just to sit on my balcony and enjoy the view. Wow. The hotel is expensive for us but I would stay there again and again if I go back to Santorini. The breakfast was delicious and is served in the rooms. We asked if we could eat together at the bar with our family and they were happy to deliver our breakfast to us there. We spent the better part of our last day at the pool and then ordered lunch and drinks on our balcony. The food was just as great as the view and we felt like we were treated like celebrities eating and drinking great quality food and wine in a stunning location with exceptional service. Thank you Porto Fira!

I've always felt guilty because I never left a review for Porto Fira Suites.
I know it's a long time ago and the owners then probably stll aren't there although they were youngsters!
We were there in May 2010 and it was a wonderful wee hotel.
It's a bit down from the main street if you need to carry your suitcases but we hadn't known that they're happy to carry your cases from the bus down to that fabulous view.
Our room had an absolutely wonderful view with a balcony and everything you needed. The bed was maybe a tad hard as it is lying on a volcanic floor so hopefully they've invested in some thicker mattresses. Wasn't really a problem; just a note.
We had booked for 4 nights and the hotel is just brilliant, ie in the middle of the restaurants, views, etc. with no smell of the donkeys.
On the second day we decided to book the yacht (the name of the company I honestly can't remember but they were brilliant).
After a wonderful time for 3 hours or so on the yacht and climbing up the volcano, we arrived back around 7.00 in the evening.
My knees are stuffed so I tend to charge off downwards. My wife tries to keep up but can't. Unfortunately she tried too hard this time, fell on the way down, and, after an horrific time (in the so-called hospital with the worst nurses I have ever come across) my wife managed to receive 17 stitches.
Major panics of course as there was no way we could stay in Fira. Back to the hotel and I told them we had to leave two days earlier.
They were absolutely terrific. Got a chap to take the bags up to the taxi and cancelled the last two days' payments.
We managed to get a flight to Athens to a proper hospital where my wife received tremendous attention.
Before that we had booked a Fira tour with a so-called travel agency. Must have a look and see if I can find them. Naturally we had to cancel that tour but they were absolutely disgusting and refused to even pay back a small amount.
Porto Fira Suites?
Wonderful.

Let me save you the time and stress of trying to pick the best place to stay in Santorini, because I already went through it.
Like you, I was looking for the best views, walkability to town/shops/restsurants, and yet I wanted an impressive room and cool decor. I also needed space for a family of four (2 adults and 2 teens)…of course, all at a reasonable price considering the “wish list”.
I found it all…and more at Porto Fira Suites!
From the initial, friendly communication prior to our arrival to the absolutely amazing service they provided to us during our stay, the staff alone is a reason to stay here! I need to make sure I acknowledge Penelope, Angela, and Tina as they deserve to be recognized. They hired and negotiated a car for us, told us every excellent restaurant to try (informing us of one just as they had heard that it had opened for the season that day), places to visit, and providing me an excellent bottle of wine just in time for the amazing sunset…seen right from the balcony of my room overlooking the volcano (no need to go anywhere!—we went to see sunsets at a few locations but still enjoyed them from the tranquil spot of our large balcony.)
I did see some of the other top hotels I researched and I was so pleased with my choice!
Fira is definitely the preferred town and has more going on in my opinion with shops and restaurants.
At Porto Fira Suites, the breakfast is so impressive. They bring it too you every day based on the time you tell them. You can choose from such wonderful selections, and multiple categories. We looked forward to it every day and switched out some of our choices to try different things. The whole island lost electricity one day yet Porto Fira Suites still got us breakfast without skipping a beat. Compliments to the Chef!
There are many choices in Santorini and I looked and looked but now that I’ve been to Porto Fira Suites and experienced the hospitality, cleanliness and amazing views and architecture/decor of the hotel…I know I made the best decision. My entire family agreed, even the kids!

Stay for the view! We enjoyed our family suite at Porta Fira. The room was very large, modern and clean with comfortable beds, jaw dropping views and a fantastic rain shower. The king bed felt like memory foam and I slept very comfortably each night. My kids enjoyed their twin beds in the living room and slept well. It was nice to have a lot of space to spread out. The bathroom was laid out well with two sinks, two closets, robes, slippers, water closet and separate rain shower. Our balcony was semi private and we enjoyed breakfast with a view each morning. The pool was greatly appreciated after long days. Our family suite was close to 80 steps from the lobby so not for those with disabilities. The hotel did an amazing job getting our luggage up and down the stairs. No easy task. The air conditioning worked great and the room is very much soundproof. Fira can be lively at night and once we closed the windows we couldn’t hear the music. Breakfast was delivered on time and delicious. I would stay here again given the clean and modern accommodations, amazing sunset and caldera views and easy access to great dining!

The Porto Fira Suites is an absolutely gorgeous hotel situated on the caldera cliffs. The website description does not do justice to this beautiful property. We booked a Senior Suite (Room 23) which was decorated in a “Greek boho style” and was a very large suite with sitting room, large bath area with 2 sinks and a lovely bedroom. We had gorgeous views from every window and from our patio. We used the hotel transportation from the ferry and to the airport upon our departure. This was particularly helpful because the hotel is situated down the steep caldera cliff so managing luggage on our own would have been a challenge. The hotel porter brought our luggage down and back up - a major feat of strength! Every member of the Porto Fira team was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Huge thanks to Penelope, Tina, Angela and the bar staff, Kris and Villy. Upon arrival, we were invited to the bar, with its breathtaking views for a welcome cocktail. Breakfast was a lovely selection of offerings which we could have had delivered to our room but we requested to eat it in the bar as we were traveling with family and wanted to enjoy breakfast together and this request was graciously granted. We had an early flight and they prepared a delightful breakfast box to take with us. Staff was dedicated to sharing their love of this beautiful island and offering many recommendations for restaurants and activities. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and can’t wait to go back! One cautionary word is that this hotel may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues or fitness concerns. The walk from the top of the caldera to the hotel is either steep or a little less steep depending upon the route taken. Additionally, our room was 75 vertical steps from the hotel entrance. We enjoyed the workout but it may not be for everyone.

Wonderful staff! The suite was beautiful, had a hot tub, was private, and they had a massage therapist come directly to us!
Breakfast was served daily, and the room was cleaned at the time we asked.

We didn’t stay here - looked stunning though - but were at the Scirocco just next door. This place is a hidden gem away from the crazy crowds above in Fira. We ate and drank here a number of times as it had the most stunning small bar/dining area with fabulous views across the Caldera. The food was delicious! Fresh, reasonably priced with good portion sizes in a very chilled and relaxed atmosphere. We absolutely loved it. The 2 guys working there were very friendly too and helpful! One of my favourite places ever I think!

We spent a very nice evening and had a great time at the bar/restaurant of this hotel open to all (not just hotel guests). The Zombie cocktail was delicious and my partner tried all the Daiquiri (mango, pineapple, strawberry, peach). The mushrooms "Mushrooms Tigania", as a starter, were fabulous!! The "Black-eyed peas cold salad" was also very good. My partner enjoyed the "Homemade Pita Pork Gyros" and the "Traditional World Mountain Fennel Pie" was also good. The cocktails are quite expensive (17€/cocktail) but the quality is there. The dishes are extremely high quality with “correct” prices for Santorini. The view at sunset is also very pretty! The waiter and bartender with whom we spoke quite a bit and who put up with our poor English are also very friendly and professional. The intimate atmosphere (few tables) makes this place very romantic and calm from the hustle and bustle of Fira.

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel arranged transfers from the port to the hotel and a member of staff assisted with our suitcases, which was a godsend down the many stairs! The receptionist provided a map with several recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing. We booked the junior suite but were very kindly given an upgrade to the senior suite, plus we were able to check in early! The room was beautiful and the views are incredible over the Aegean Sea. We enjoyed a two course breakfast on our balcony each morning and spent a lot of time relaxing by the infinity pool. Be warned - there are lots of steps to get to the hotel/your room so you do need a certain level of fitness, but for us this wasn’t an issue. I would highly recommend and would love to go back in future!

My husband and I had a fantastic time at Porto Fira Suites. The room was spacious and tasteful, the view from our room and the pool was second to none in Fira. The staff just wonderful. They made us feel so welcome. Christine recommended a number of restaurants which we loved, and the cocktails at the bar are the best we tasted.
We also felt very safe in the current Covid environment, which was important for us. The staff thoroughly cleaned our room every morning, always wore masks and kept social distance and breakfast was served on our balcony (selected in advance from the menu), which was a lovely feature at no extra cost.
Overall, I couldn’t speak highly enough about Porto Fira Suites, and would recommend it to anyone. Please do be aware that there are quite a few steps involved, but if this bothers you, you probably shouldn’t visit Fira!
