Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel for 10 nights 5th-15th September 2020, we stayed for a friends wedding and with 10 of the wedding guests also staying at the hotel it really was perfect.

Arriving 2 days after most of the wedding party we were greeted by Cristos who was brilliant, not only did he help us to upgrade our room he gave us a virtual tour of santorini, giving us a map with circled area’s that we must visit during our stay. He checked us in quickly and showed us to our room.

For the first couple of nights we stayed in a junior suite, a simple yet elegant space,
Turning right into the room to see a small yet practical bathroom compromising of a open shower room, turning to the left saw a large simple room with a built in double wardrobe and large built in bed. The whole decor allowed for a calming cool place to stay. This room was a really nice boutique room which for a couple of nights really did fit the bill.

A few days later we upgraded our room to one of the Premium rooms and wow what an upgrade! The room was a large open space, which compromised of a separate toilet, open shower and get ready station. A large king size bed at least, with large double sliding doors to the rear, opening up onto a patio, sunken jacuzzi with even more patio space and a double sun bed at the end of the outdoor area. If I was going to upgrade I would certainly go for this room! The whole space was private, relaxing and calming exactly what we wanted for our holiday especially after a gorgeous wedding.

Both Christos and Fiona were absolutely amazing throughout our whole stay, friendly and gave treated us like like we were the only people staying at the hotel. They provided a happy, relaxing welcoming stay at Callia retreats.

On our final night at Callia both Fiona and Christos came over to thank us for staying with them, how nice it was for them to meet us any really made us feel like they were going to miss us, I’m sure the next guests have helped them forget but it was a nice touch.

Breakfast was a good selection of fruit, pastries, omelettes and some odd selections of cheese pie and chocolate cake (which did go down well) if your looking for a full fry up every morning this isn’t the place, but if you want the basics done really well it’s the place to go. With COVID breakfast is severed by 2x ladies each morning who give you a tray with plate and cutlery and walk you for-und the breakfast buffet doing everything for you, you literally have to point and they will get it for you.

Overall our stay at Callia was brilliant, the staff were fantastic and the rooms were amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel it really was amazing.

The trip to Santorini was booked as a surprise for my fiancés 30th birthday. The booking was easy through booking.com and I received very good communication on the run up to arrival date. I contacted Callia Retreat about my fiancés birthday and both Margarita and Christos were very accommodating. They also helped us to book transport to and from the airport. Check in was quick and easy, and Margarita provided excellent recommendations on places to visit and trips. She then showed us to our room and gave us relevant information. We had a executive suite which was very clean, modern and spacious. The terrace was of a reasonable size and equipped with lovely private hot tub which was cleaned daily.
Breakfast had a wide selection of nicely organised food items, and the staff were very accommodating to offer drinks. The breakfast area was managed very well and in line with covid restrictions (plastic gloves and mask to be worn when inside and when picking food).
The main pool area was very clean and there are plenty of places to sit (with selection of seating available such as loungers, day beds or chairs).
Margarita and Christos were very accommodating and helpful towards our every need. They worked around our daily plans to provide my fiancé with birthday decorations and complimentary Prosecco, and later found out the cocktails we ordered earlier in the day had been removed from our bill. We were also given a late check out time due to our late flight, with bathroom and towels made available, all at no extra cost. We both can’t thank the team enough!

We were in Santorini for 10 nights and stayed at Callia. We were not disappointed ... what an amazing place! It is a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Fira which was the perfect location for us. The grounds are extremely clean and well kept. The rooms are also very clean and they have everything that you could possibly need during your stay. Toiletries (soap, shower gel, shampoo), towels/pool towels, a mini fridge, somewhere to hang your wet clothes and very importantly - a hairdryer! The pool area was also great and we spent a couple of days just relaxing on the sunbeds. We really could not fault the hotel at all and the staff are so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are very attentive. Breakfast was delicious each morning, very fresh and it set us up perfectly for the day. The hotel have also put Covid measures in place but this does not take away from the experience at all. We felt extremely safe here. Our airport transfers were also arranged for us (both ways) completely hassle free. All we had to do was sit back and relax the entire time. Callia is truly a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for somewhere that is central/close enough to Fira but you also want to relax whilst in Santorini. Christos upgraded us to a suite with a hot tub for our last night which was a very nice touch and really appreciated! If we are in Santorini again, we will most definitely be back to Callia as it was just perfect in every way. Thank you so much!

We were overwhelmed with Christos and Fiona’s hospitality. We checked-in really late in the night and we found out we were upgraded to a bigger suite with outdoors hot tub and they left a map of the island full of handwritten locations and tips to make our trip easier. Beautiful boho decor room, delicious daily breakfast and lovely common areas. We extended our stay in Callia Retreats for 2 more nights, we really felt like home, and the location was perfect, just 5-8 min walk distance from the center of Fira but far enough from the crowd. Dont search anymore, this is definitely your place in Fira. We also rented a car provided by a local company collaborating with them and the service was absolutely easy and perfect.

Small boutique hotel owned by a family, I highly recommend this hotel and will most definitely be returning again next year. Although this hotel like most in Santorini are coming to the end of the tourist season and are closing after this weekend, we could not of timed our stay any better as the weather was beautiful also not to hot.
The hotel is immaculate most rooms are close to the pool and reception area, also the choice of food at breakfast varied daily and was always to the highest quality with plenty of choices. The pool was cold but that did not put us off as the beds and sun loungers were plentiful for all guests and very comfortable. Margarita was very helpful in securing our booking when booking.com declined our card online, they arranged airport transfers for us which cost €25. The main square and the Caldera is only about 10 min walk with so much choice of restaurants and bars on the way. The main bus station is close by with a very good timetable and all bus journeys cost only €1.60 per journey and Kamira and Oia are very close by only 20 mins on bus.

Having just returned from a fabulous holiday here, I really cannot recommend this hotel enough. I would go back in a heartbeat. The service, and the whole atmosphere was really outstanding. My partner and I had planned this trip with the intention of having a relaxing pool holiday (we usually take many city breaks around Europe during the year and have advance plans for sightseeing etc, and had intentionally decided due to working a lot to take a week of sun, with no plans and just relax by the pool) Mother Nature had other ideas!
The weather was terrible the first 2 days, so we found ourselves trying to make plans of what to do and see without having researched anything in advance. I cannot possibly explain how helpful Margarita was, she not only recommended excursions but she also called around to ensure we had a variety of prices and options available. We ended up hiking from Fira to OIA (it was AMAZING), horse riding along the caldera edge and quad biking to the highest point on the island. She made excellent restaurant recommendations, as did Christos, for both fine dining and street food, and I have to say that they both went really above and beyond what you could possibly expect from a hotel. They were both so friendly, professional and helpful - it was like having a travel agent at the hotel desk! They are both very genuine and it was impossible not to feel at ease there. They create a calm, warm atmosphere that I have rarely, if ever, seen before in any hotel.
The hotel itself was lovely, clean and very comfortable with prompt cleaning services every day. Breakfast was fresh and varied, from Salmon Crostini, to Feta and honey pastries, hot breakfast of omelettes, savoury pastries, pies, eggs etc, greek yoghurt, fruit, multiple (delicious) Greek pastries and desserts - if you went into the hotel during the day you were always greeted with the smell of delicious food being cooked for the following morning.
The location is ideal, you're close to the centre ( a 5/10 minute walk) so it's very easy to come and go but you also have a peaceful night sleep
We stayed the first 5 nights in a standard room, it was very clean and very comfortable, with a balcony area by the pool, and would be perfect for anyone in summer months. The last 2 nights we stayed in an executive room (which I would 100% recommend) as the hot tub was just the most divine thing. When the evenings were cold (due to the time of year we visited), it was honestly the nicest thing. The pool was so beautiful, and we relaxed by it on the days there was sun but I can only imagine how ideal it would be during the summer time.
We were celebrating an occasion on our trip the staff and this hotel will play a big part in our wonderful memories. Definitely stay if you're planning a trip to Santorini!

I fell in love with Callia Retreat Suites because of the bedside pool which is remind me of Bali. Also i read one of the comments that they served various of breakfast!

Which actually it is TRUE! i was really overwhelmed with the breakfast!

I stayed for 3 nights, and Margarita (the nicest Receptionist i have ever met) gave us upgraded room to the Callia Prive Suites with Jacuzzi for our HONEYMOON there for 2 nights!

We were so grateful for what we had on our holimoon (Holiday & Honeymoon)

The location of Callia Retreat Suites was very close to the main square.
For me i don't need to get the hotel next to the ocean. Because me and my husband are the type that really wants to strolling around the city or the area.

So we booked a motorbike and for 30 minutes with motorbike we did a round from south (Akrotiri) to North (Oia) we went also to the West side of the island (Kamari).

So for us it is really useless to stay in 1000 euro hotel room because we would like to run around the island.

And Callia was really affordable price with the 5 star hotel level.

But be careful, if you have European driver license you don't need to pay another driver license from Greece that they told you. If the hotel told you that, please don't follow, because it doesnt matter.

My mistake was i followed what they told me to register in a website that we have to have Greece driver license around 27€. but then it was too late, i already paid, we just realized that maybe we can find another rental motorbike that they didnt ask this.

Well a part of that, Santorini is a magical word, magical place, magical island, that people will always want to go there, or make a picture there.

For me, at least i have been one time in Santorini and it was enough for me.

by the way, the type of travelling in Santorini is luxury travelling. It is not recommended for backpackers or with low budget.

You have to have really high budget or you are willing to spend much money in Santorini.
Because Santorini is really expensive 😂

Customer Service:
The service we received at this hotel turned out to be very good especially for Greece.

Christos, the Front of House Manager, and other hosts at reception were consistently helpful once we arrived including helping us to book taxis. They were initially hesitant to book too many taxis on the Booking.com messaging forum and we were slightly anxious about transport in Santorini given we only stayed for two nights so it wasn't worth renting a car. We had heard that finding taxis can be a stressful experience, but we found it easy given the company the hotel put us in touch with was very helpful throughout with transparent prices and highly available. You don't need to book all taxis in advance of arriving as we found out, but do ensure you have a transfer from the port as it can be a nightmare with heavy traffic if you don't have someone ready to pick you up from the ferry.

Room:
We were unexpectedly upgraded to a room with a private outdoor jacuzzi which was a great surprise and something that definitely added something extra to our stay. It also comes with a private outdoor garden space with an outdoor bed to look at the stars from. The air con was highly effective although noisy, and the TV had limited English speaking channels (only news). The WiFi in the room was also temperamental (probably because of the steep winding paths / hills you find here). However the room was very spacious with an enormous shower area and sink (with two mirrors) which again was an exceptional addition given we were staying in Fira.

Location:
The location of the hotel is ideal given it is out of the buzz and traffic of Fira (the capital town of Santorini) yet a 10 minute walk away from the heart of the action (good if you want to go out at night). There is also a good winery a stone's throw away.

Value for money:
We thought the value for money for two nights in Santorini was fantastic and allows you money to spare on excursions and experiences (e.g. we went to Le Moustache pool lounge and a wine tour). You don't get a view of the sea or sunset, but there is a view in the pool of some pretty houses and the other side of the caldera. Besides you will want to experience the sunset in Oia or Imerovogli from a good spot at a restaurant, pool lounge, or street, of which there are many options.

We wish we had more time to stay and make use of the pool area and our private jacuzzi.

We wanted to visit Santorini because it’s one of the few islands in Greece that we hadn’t been to. Having recently retired we wanted to have a relaxing break. CALLIA Retreat did not disappoint. We really couldn’t fault it. Firstly it’s situated in a quiet location but only about 10 mins walk from the main square that offers you shops, bar’s & restaurants. With stunning views & sunsets. (Parea was a favourite restaurant)

The bus terminal is 15 mins walk away just through the town with air conditioned coaches, which we used to visit Perissa Beach & Oia town.

Perissa is a nice change of scenery but be careful getting in the sea it’s very rocky.

Oia was good to see but extremely busy. We much preferred Fira.

Our accommodation was an adequate size with a comfortable bed with plenty of hot water and nicely positioned next to the pool. The pool & sunbeds are fabulous. The pool & all areas are kept spotlessly clean but it does get a bit slippery around the pool when it’s wet.

The staff were always on hand to offer help & advice. A special thank you to Ellie who looked after us all day from serving breakfast, drinks around the pool and lunch. She works very hard & always has a smile.

Thank you all for a lovely break. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

We stayed at Callia Retreat Suites recently for 4
nights. It was by far one of the best hotels we stayed in
and the best one of our trip. In particularly the staff service.

stood out as being exceptional. On arrival we was told
about the local area and nice places to eat. We got
engaged while we was in Santorini and the owners
provided us with a free bottle of Prosecco and the maids
made two swans the following morning out of towels on the bed. The small touches such as this really stood out.
The room itself was spacious, big comfy bed in a type of
cave style design. It was lovely and cool in the room
although it had air con we didn't need it on a lot. Room was cleaned every day including fresh bedding and towels.

The hotel is situated in a great location about 10 minute
walk from the caldera so away from the hustle and bustle a very quiet / peaceful location with sea views.

The breakfast every day was brilliant, continental and lots of choice. Everything was fresh and clean.

Sunbeds easy to find every day, always managed to get
one didn't need to get up really early to be on them like
other hotels. Swimming pool was lovely too but cold - was
nice to dip in when it was hot.

The bar had lots of choice and was open daily till midnight.

The hotel was exceptionally clean, good value for money
and the service from the staff was the best part about it.
We had a wonderful time! Thanks to all the staff.

- The only thing I can give is constructive feedback as
everything was amazing. The only thing I would say is it
would be helpful to have a small lunch time menu of things as it would be nice to have lunch some days at the pool when not travelling.
