Just back from a weeks family holiday and are used to 5* hotels and I cannot fault this hotel, location, room, food, layout and especially the staff. Location is perfect as a 10 minute ‘flat’ walk into Fira, but it means you get peace and quiet during the day away from the hustle and bustle of Fira but close enough to pop in and out if you wish to. It is also a short walk to the bus station if you want to explore.
Pools are perfect with kids, and position means you get some winds which help with the heat. Pool bar and service was spot on and great selection of food and drink. Club sandwich was delicious.
There is a games room which gave our two children a rest from the sun with a free pool table, air hockey and table football.
Rooms were spacious with stunning views whether they are over the Caldera or the other side of the island - the maisonette was perfect for a family of 4.
Great selection for breakfast including gluten free options, nothing was too much trouble for staff.
The lifeguard is brilliant, super friendly and helpful getting your towels, helping with your umbrella, and brought out a small number of tasteful inflatables, used mostly by the adults. Pool was never too busy as people explore the island and never too many kids about so very relaxing during the day.
There are plenty of photo opportunities in the hotel as it has such a stunning layout where you can even see Fira and there is the balcony to watch the sunset with a glass of champagne.
Check in and out was seamless and reception staff went out of their way to help.
Bus trip to Oia and Kamira in the evenings were straightforward but last busses back were busy. We ended up getting a taxi back from Oia (40€) as didn’t want to queue.
Caldera sunset cruise is worth every penny, where you see the volcano (tough walk and you need trainers) but rewarded with a swim in the hot springs and evening grill. Pick up directly from our hotel.
Would happily return tomorrow.
The hotel Manageress was there when we left to say goodbye and wish us a safe trip home which was a lovely touch. Not the first time we saw her do this.

Stayed at this hotel for a week in July and would definitely return if visiting Santorini again. The location is great as it’s a 10 minute walk (flat) into Fira central, which we enjoyed being close but far enough away from the crowds. The hotel is spotless and the staff work super hard all day everyday.
The reception staff were always pleasant when passing through and even gave us a wave off when our coach departed! We had a late flight but it was no trouble getting a room to shower before we left.
The choice at breakfast was very good (even for me who is fussy!) and the staff were happy to accommodate if you requested things which weren’t out on the buffet. Food and drinks from the pool bar were not cheap but were all freshly made and of a high standard so we didn’t mind paying the prices. I can recommend the Pina colada :)

Bar staff were always accommodating, even gave us a bucket of ice to take to our room so we could enjoy a drink on a balcony before heading out. Nikos the lifeguard is just the best, he was so friendly and chatty and was always on hand to assist with towels, umbrellas etc. We also some him engaging with some children at the pool which was nice to see. Top guy 👍
Pool area is relaxing and the sun loungers are super comfy, never had an issue getting one and we liked that beds could not be reserved!

Rooftop bar for the amazing sunset was also a hit, we went up there every evening as it was so chilled and great for photos.
We also used the hotel gym a few times which was small but adequate for the size of the hotel and for what we needed.

We were in room 116 which was very quiet, room was spacious and the cleaner visited daily. The only problem we had was each time we showered the water came up through the plug hole on the floor which then left a puddle in the bathroom, so not ideal when we needed to use the toilet. We did report this at reception on day 2 and they sent the maintenance guy within the hour to investigate. Unfortunately the issue did not get resolved so we had to keep putting towels on the floor to soak up the water. It wasn’t pleasant but given all the other positives I would still rate our stay 5/5.

From walking in to walking out the holiday at this hotel was spot on. Firstly I would like to praise every staff member who were polite and could not do enough for you, but would like to give a special mention to George and Dinos plus Elisha. We had a room 213 which faced out too towards the sunset we watched every night bar one where we went into town to watch. The pool area had plenty of beds which were not allowed to be reserved, but it was never like that not once it was a lovely chill out vibe. With Nikios the lifeguard watching nothing got past him who was always on watch and willing to help and chat. As for the room spot on again clean and fresh no problems with a balcony looking out over the sunset, plenty of storage with a mini bar (payable) Going onto the bar, brilliant staff with the likes of George who great as the barman, loved watching him do cocktails for guests. The barfood again you would think a little expensive maybe, but they are not skimpy on portion size, if you go try their club sandwich ( not going to say anymore lol ) Overall experience very poistive and would recommend, finally the icing on the cake was we were allowed to keep the room which normally you would have to leave at eleven in the morning at the end of your holidays, but were allowed to keep all day, so may thanks Majestic great holiday in Santorini

We have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Majestic Hotel. We enjoyed every minute of our stay from the welcome drinks to the courtesy room which we were able to use on our last day to shower before our departure.

All the staff were amazing. Breakfast was varied and tasty. We enjoyed the food from the pool bar and delicious cocktails and the reception staff were great, helping book a catamaran tour.

The hotel is a short walk into Fira along a well lit road with a pavement so it felt safe to walk.

Sunset in Fira is a crowded affair so if you haven’t secured a restaurant or cocktail bar, just stay at the hotel. The Caldera view rooms all have a sunset view, as does the terrace upstairs from reception where they serve drinks and play classical music as the sun goes down.

The pool area is great with comfortable beds and towels provided. Guests are not able to reserve beds and the life guard ensures they are cleared ready for the next people when someone leaves. We always got a bed no matter what time we arrived at the pool.

The room and general areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean.

We knew there was a busy road outside so it didn’t bother us one bit as we booked the Caldera room for the view. The quieter rooms are at the rear of the hotel, these also have a sea view but not the sunset.

A big thank you to George and Jersey for your company and lovely cocktails and of course the Sailor Jerry’s!

We came to stay at the majestic as part of a 7 day wedding anniversary break leaving our children at home.
The welcome upon arriving was warm with the manageress being present not only at that point but being available casually around the hotel during our stay making it feel more personal.
Each member of staff were friendly, professional and had genuine smiles on their faces bringing a lovely ambience to the place. They were happy to give advice on the local area and tips on any restaurants. I was given a complimentary facial voucher for the spa which I gratefully took up and was delighted with the beauty therapist Johanna for being professional and delivering a relaxing experience.
We stayed as bed and breakfast guests, the breakfast was a small buffet style but had all the basics you needed plus Prosecco as an option and table service with tea and coffee unlike some hotels we’ve been to where you are stood queuing to press buttons at a coffee machine this was not the case.
The Sun loungers were very comfortable with towels nicely folded on the loungers for when you came to the pool and despite it getting a bit busy over the weekend we were able to always find somewhere to sit and relax.
Our room was modern, tidy and cleaned when required. The shower was a bit tight in the bath tub but worked perfectly fine. The bed was the first bed we have stayed in where we haven’t felt uncomfortable so were pleased with the hotels choice of mattress and pillows.

We arrived late at night and was delighted to see the smiling doorman greet us. The hotel is easy to locate from the airport, with parking by the side of the property. Reception were extremely efficient and friendly, and we were checked in within minutes.

We had chosen a 'volcano view' room. The sunsets were absolutely spectactular. Our room was very comfortable, with the usual amenities all working. The room felt fresh and clean and not at all dated. After a very comfortable night's sleep, we arrived at the buffett breakfast. I particularly liked that the fruit was different each day. The eggs were always cooked to perfection, not to mention the lovely array of pastries.

We only sampled the swimming pool a bit as we tended to go out exploring, however, when we did, the facilities were all extremely clean and tidy, and lovely fresh pool towels to dry outselves with.

I was lucky enough to sample the spa, which felt extremely luxurious, without the usual big bill you find in big hotels.

Overall, we had a fabulous time. The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk to Fira, but away from all the noise. The hotel rooms have great views on each side of the island as the hotel sits on top of a hill. The staff were so welcoming, efficient and friendly. The hotel is clean and the food was great.

The property is very low key. We were greeted by the manager, who gives off a yoga instructor vibe. All the male staff are in pale blue uniforms while the female staff are all in white. A very Zen feeling is present. While we walked around the property, we also got a Star Trek (TNG) vibe from the structures themselves. We expected Captain Picard to come out playing a pan flute. 2 main places to eat. A fancy restaurant upstairs and an all day pub type fare by the pool. They have a great selection for breakfast and some items change on a daily basis. The property itself is situated directly across from the volcano and offers a very nice sunset view as well. They have a bar on the second floor for viewing the sunset, which we unfortunately did not discover until we were leaving. They leave a book about the property in the room so review it so you can take advantage of all they have. The breakfast restaurant, bar and pool all have a ramp that can be accessed easily by wheel chair or carriage. Very quiet place as well. The town of Fira is a very short walk . There are many fine restaurants there as well as a few pubs and many, many shops. My wife purchased a pair of sandals in one shop. The owner makes the sandals right there in the shop. All the machines and materials are right there! Quality merchandise. There is even a supermarket at the beginning of town. It’s best to purchase water, soda and any snacks there. The hotel does have them available in the room but they’re a little pricey. I paid $3.80 for a 4 pack of 500ml cokes where the hotel is charging $3.50 for 1. Nice place to relax and we’d go back there .

We had a great week as a family of four, including two teenage girls.

The hotel is well designed with a lovely pool area designed to make the most of the views. Everything is spotlessly clean and the staff cannot do enough to help you, especially the lifeguard round the pool and the reception staff who were welcoming and really helpful with restaurant reservations, etc.

Reading on or two of the more recent reviews it feels with tackling a few of the points raised:
1) “the bathrooms are dated”. This is fair comment. They have a standard size bath with a glass shower screen which can make it feel a bit claustrophobic and is dated. That said, to us it was a small matter. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked.
2) “restaurant staff are slow”. There were certainly some times where it felt like the bar staff were a bit overwhelmed and we had a bit of a wait. However it is also true that they are friendly, helpful and spend a very long day circulating the pool area to clear away and take orders. They could probably do with an extra pair of hands but it was fine.
3) “scratchy lawn chairs”. I would have to agree that some of the furniture seems to have been chosen because it looks cool rather than actually being comfortable. I would say this is fair comment but equally the sun-beds were really good, as were the chairs around the pool. Plenty of clean towels always available by the pool which is not always the case.
4) “flies”. Yes, in August, in a hot country there were some flies. I think at one point a farmer upwind must have been fertilising his field and this may have led to a day or two when there were a few more but we did not feel like we were in the midst of a plague.

So I think that a balanced summary would be that this is a nice hotel to spend a week or a few days in. It is really clean and mostly really well appointed. There are some features that could be slightly refined but overall we had a great time. If you want ultra-lux then pay more and go elsewhere.

PS - they have a nice new toaster at breakfast.

Looks great from the outside. However listed below are the problems:

1. Overwhelming powder smell in the lobby.
2. Very few people on staff
3. Front desk staff not well groomed and general dishevelled appearance.

4. Room tired and need for an update.
5. Rooms were not adequately cleaned.
A. Dirt in the floor.
B. Hair on bed spread, pillows and bathroom counters and on towels.

C. Towels were dirty and appeared they were not cleaned after last use just refolded.

6. Front Desk attitude towards us when we pointed out the problems.

7. Change of room resulted in slightly better room however not much better.

8. Breakfast was underwhelming and few items were stale.

9. Only 1 person serving staff in the restaurant at breakfast.

10. Couldn’t stay for our entire stay had to move to another hotel for the remainder of our stay in Santorini.

This looks like a great property at a great location but needs a lot of work in management, staffing and upgrading the decor and furniture. I wish you luck Majestic!

We had a fabulous time at the Majestic . The hotel is close to Fira just a ten minutes into the town with a fantastic bus service across the Island . Our room was 104 , try and get this one if you can as the sun rises eclipses any of the sun sets . Every member of the staff ensured that we had the best time and were so attentive and kind . Thank You to you all Mark and Denise ❤️

April is a mixed month. The days may be warm but the nights can be chilly. Pack Layers The hotel is about 15 minutes walking into town so bring comfortable shoes. The towns are very hilly so be prepared! If you have time, Crete is only an hour and a half by ferry and well worth the trip.
