I couldn't wait for this experience and the cabin stay, but it rather fell apart in stages. Making reservations, I was assured everything was open and operational. However, once arriving we were told the bakery would be open until 7PM (we found it locked up by 4PM not to open again until the next day.) The town had been rented...

My sister and I stayed at the Nevada City Hotel & Cabins. We stayed in the hotel (room #8). The rooms are decorated in the style of the late 1800's. The hotel was a stage coach stop. We were so pleased with our room, pics attached. We enjoyed the accommodations, to include a wide balcony for resting after exploring the...

I am not sure why this place has such a high rating? Our stay was crap. We stay in one of the historic cabins with modern features. The cabin was small and rustic but that was not the problem. The main bedroom had a bed and dresser nothing else, no TV or even a clock but that is no so...

We stayed at the hotel (an old stage stop) for two days. The ambiance was perfect, the price was right, and it was a most quiet visit as we were the only ones there the first night. We met Russ, the manager, and his dad (both knowledgeable locals) who filled in on the historic past and places to explore. We...

I came to Virginia City on my Honeymoon in 97. This time I chose The Nevada City. It is around 150 years old, but renovated. The owners have made big steps to bring back this old town. The barista, Jeff, was showing me and a German couple a picture he took of the stars. When we commented that it was...

Staying at this place is fabulous. Get back to the basics and enjoy the peace and tranquil cabins. Although the cabins don't have Internet or television they're not needed to relax and enjoy your stay. I've stayed here many times and will absolutely stay there again.

We stayed in the Nevada City Hotel in August, 2016. We came in late in the evening with two young children -- all of us dead tired and badly needing showers after having camped at Glacier National Park for four nights. Our brief stay in the hotel was a nightmare. For some people, an authentic old west hotel would be...

My husband and I toured this authentic functioning hotel on our way to Virginia City. When we entered the historic hotel we thought it was a museum. We were surprised to learn it is "open for guests". This is not a plush hotel. But it is what one would expect to see in the West! Bedrooms have paneled walls and...

I have been to and through Nevada City several times and each time I would always say to myself, "I sure would love to spend the night here." Well, the time finally came and I was so happy! We stayed in one of the cabins. It was difficult to get the door locks to work, even when we had to...

This was the BEST!! An old stagecoach stop with fun old-fashioned decor!!! Patty, the desk clerk, could not have been more friendly or helpful. Thanks for the UNO cards that we played and played while sitting out on the balcony. And Jeff (coffee shop attached to hotel) was wonderful too. Helped us look at the Pleseid Meteor Shower and fixed...
