Sadly, we had to cancel our reservation when Cooperstown canceled their baseball tournament this year due to Covid-19. Our younger son will hopefully be playing there next summer so we will try again. The entire team at Deer Haven was fantastic to work with. Not only did I experience great customer service when it was time for them to take our money, but even better service when I needed a refund. I highly recommend these cabins and the incredible service provided.
My daughter and I are camping here after our trip to Puerto Rico got cancelled, and we couldn’t be happier. Very clean property, beautiful cabins, amazing views, large swimming pool and the convenience of being close to everything! You can tell the owners take pride in their business and it shows in the well kept grounds. We will definitely be back!
We stayed June 2019, cabin was very clean great location to field and nice area. The cabins are lacking seating inside other than wooden bar stools or a cheap futon that sits so low to the ground you almost have to fall into it. Rules are pretty normal but dont think you are bringing the team by for a gathering they do not like that as others have pointed out, you will get stopped by the lady in charge if it smells of a baseball team gathering. We would stay again without hesitation but would definitely bring chairs to sit in. Oh and pack plates utensils etc we had some paper plates and cooking utensils were severely lacking, for what it costs you would think seating would be better as well as cooking utensils but sadly no.
This campground and cabins is located right next to All Star Village and I rented a cabin for a week when my son attended the tournament. I rented a cabin near the swimming pool and feel I got an excellent value. To orient you to the actual site, it is less than a mile drive from the entrance of Deer Haven to All Star Village. But the actual cabins and campgrounds are located up a very steep 0.6 mile hill (I advise going down the hill in first gear). This hill is formidable (going up or down) on foot or bicycle and gravel part of the way. This is nothing against Deer Haven --- but I would not think anyone but a true athlete in need of a work out would try this hill. As you drive up the 300-400 foot hill, the view is spectacular. Our "cabin" was a very nice wood double trailer. The kitchen had a full sink, plenty of cabinets, some pots and pans, 2 stove top electric stove, a microwave and a full refrigerator (no stove). There was a four seat high top with stools. The kitchen living room had a sturdy wood bunk bed, and a couch. There was a reasonably sized bathroom. Water and shower strength were excellent. The bedroom had a solid regular bed. There are no drawers or nightstands or closets --- so we lived out of a suitcase. The place was spotless. There were ceiling fans in the main living area and bedroom, and a good exhaust fan in the bathroom. The cooling and heating unit was almost silent and could handle the hot days and cold nights just fine. The porch was great, but bring your own chairs. There was a BBQ pit. We had plenty of neighbors but despite the activity, everyone was quiet and respectful. There are plenty of rules, but those rules keep the grounds clean and safe and peaceful. There were many cabins to one side of us and plenty of campers to the other side of us. I had visited other campsites during our week and Deer Haven is the nicest (and closest to the park.) If you want to keep it simple, this is the place to stay. The car ride down the hill takes 2 minutes (again I advise going in first gear unless you want to replace your brakes). A right turn at the bottom of the hill, and then another right in a few hundred yards, drive 0.4 miles and you are ready to turn into All Star Village.…
This campground is family run with great pride, hard work, and hospitality. Our family experienced issues with our trailer and my husband had to move into the baseball camp dorms. The owner, Brett, took a good part of his day to get things repaired and replaced for me. I cannot thank him enough for going above and beyond. It is so rare to encounter such genuine customer service. This campground is impeccably kept and maintained. It has beautiful views and is close to everything a baseball family needs. We highly recommend this campground!
