The scenery is gorgeous, nothing like the PicturesqueHudson Valley. The spa was beautiful and no other clients at that time. Disappointing that no one offered as much as a bottle of water before treatment. Tried to purchase a spa robe after, but only XXL. The massage itself was wonderful, but for that amount of money, it requires a lot more attention.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Your feedback is important to us. I can assure you that this is not the norm and it is very unusual for such an occurrence to happen at the hotel and Spa. Unfortunately during your visit with us we were in the process of waiting for our new order of robes to be delivered. We are happy to hear that you did enjoy the massage. Thank you again, It is feedback like yours that allows us to continue to improve in all aspects of out hotel and spa.

Hotel's Favourite
It is difficult to describe the beauty of The Abbey Inn and Spa. The restoration of the church and buildings built in the late 1800's was done to perfection. All the old beautiful wood and design were preserved. Modern conveniences lighting, WiFi, and 40+ simple, elegant, boutique hotel rooms and small intimate bar and restaurants, were added . These additions melded completely with the surrounding antiquities. We were the first Covid wedding. ( Or any wedding for that matter. Since the Opening and Closing of The Abbey was in March 2020. ) All requirements were closely followed. Small, only 30 people. By NYS law there was no dancing allowed. It didn't matter. We had a blast. The DJ rocked anyway. Well spaced persons at all times. Weather was exceptional on Labor Day Weekend, so we were outside except for 2 dinners. The wedding dinner was in the old church. On entering that space, it will take your breath away. There are no negatives to report. The Manager, Elaine, and all the staff were lovely and efficient and friendly. The food outstanding. In case of bad weather, there are several beautiful inside spaces that will accommodate your party. In fact, you may have a hard time deciding which one to use ! Comment: Room Amenities/toiletries are normally offered, but not now with Covid restrictions.

Pros: Spectacular views of the Hudson River and natural landscaping. Stunning architecture with unique features throughout the facility. The room decor and amenities were inviting and very comfortable. Despite the limitations presented by COVID, the service was impeccable. Hotel staff enforced COVID guidelines at all times and hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility. Kudos to Gilbert, Christiana, Lidijo, Lee, and Jennifer as they made our stay at the Abby Inn and Spa memorable. Cannot offer any comments on the spa as we did not use its services. Cons: The restaurant is closed on Mondays. There is no coffee/tea station in the room so guests have no way of heating a cup of water for tea or coffee other than going to the front desk. Very awkward and inefficient. The restaurant has a very limited menu and hours (maybe because of COVID). Our room was located on the first floor on the front side whereby you could hear a train blasting horn throughout the nights. Although this was not the fault of the Inn, it certainly interfered with sleep. If you are a heavy sleeper perhaps this would not be a problem.

We stayed overnight on a Saturday. The building is very pretty w nice touches. I thought the rooms could have been cleaner - bathroom had some mildew that you could see when you were in the shower. Maybe housekeeping can’t see it? I know these are Covid times but a $20 resort fee does not make sense to me when turn down service does not show and there are not any amenities. Otherwise the hotel was nice - but for the price I expected more.

Thank you for taking the time to write and share your feedback. . I am truly sorry to read about the issues you experienced at the hotel and regret to learn that your stay did not live up to your expectation. I will investigate the incident with the shower in your room. I can assure you that this is not the norm and it is very unusual for such an occurrence at the hotel. We do charge a facility fee as all of our amenities are open at this time excluding the hot tub. Once again my sincerest apology. Jennifer James Rooms Director

I received a spa gift certificate for a birthday present and decided to have a facial. Well I booked it and the women I had was Melissa. She was phenomenal!!! What magic fingers and thorough! She also did extractions. I’ve had many facials in the past, some aestheticians seem afraid to touch you but Melissa had the right amount of pressure and she wasn’t afraid to touch you. As far as the Abbey Inn, the staff was extremely courteous, and the view as magnificent!!! Will definitely go again!
