Last week, we spent 2 nights at the Gables, one of the buildings owned by the Beekman Arms. It's a charming old home converted to an Inn and is next door to the Delamater. This is our 2nd time at this facility and like our first time, we enjoyed our stay; it was a solid value. The room was modest...

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am pleased to tell you that the Beekman Arms and its facilities is engaging in a process of changes that will address issues that have occurred thus far. You mentioned that the breakfast was "decent". That is one area that we are focusing on so guests like will continue to return...

We loved our stay on the 3rd floor of this historic inn and the beds were very comfortable. Beware, there are plenty of steps and no elevator but I suspect our room was quieter than the lower rooms. There are also strange steps into the bath and into the bedroom. Nicely creaky place and we would certainly stay again. We...

This was a great place to have dinner! My husband and I ate in a small back room they called the wine cellar. It was cozy on a Saturday night. The food was delicious! We both had specials. My husband the osso buco and me the pan seared pumpkin ravioli with risotto. Weird combination of pasta but both things I...

What a gorgeous, historic building this is, complete with crooked floors, creaking boards and antique furniture polished by a century of hands. It's America's oldest continuously operated hotel, more olde English than American. There's a low ceilinged taproom and a parlour for reading. My room was up two flights of stairs (no elevators here) and quaint with mismatched furniture and...

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience during your recent stay at the Beekman Arms. I am even more delighted to let you know that we are embarking on a phase of improvements in service and in some of the physical aspects of the property. It's historic and right in the middle of a very nice town, and our room (in the Delamater component) was spacious and the staff were friendly, efficient, and well-informed. But the breakfast was a bit sparse, the croissants were rubbery, and there were several minor maintenance issues in the room -- balky heating, limited hot water, and blinds that needed...

We stayed four nights at the Delamater Inn. We requested a quiet room. Unhappily, we were on the first floor of a cottage. The first two nights we heard the plumbing upstairs...beginning at 4 am. The next two nights the room shook from the footsteps above us. How do you evaluate a nice looking place in a great location that...

The Beekman Arms really SHOULD be better, both as a restaurant and a hotel. It's got great potential. It's history as "America's Oldest Inn" makes it interesting. The architecture is pretty; the main inn has a lot of charm. The restaurant has dining areas with character. Even the lobby with fireplace is very cozy! The place is situated nicely in...

I am posting an email I sent two days ago to the restaurant at The Beekman Inn. I have yet to receive a response from them, and frankly I don't think I will. That would be consistent with the carelessness we experienced from start to finish when we dined in the restaurant. Here's the email. Read it and be forewarned:...

September 19, 2014 Dear Mr. DiLallo, It was just recently brought to my attention the poor experience you and your wife had at our establishment. I hope you will accept my sincere apology in this matter, for the dining experience as well as the fact that I was not made aware of it right away. We strive to make our...

My wife and I checked in late one evening. Receptionist was very personable and described the rooms for us. We chose a "rustic" room with one king bed. The room is located about 1 block away in a renovated barn. Rustic includes antique and period furniture "quaintly" combined with big box store pressed board furniture. Bathroom was clean but shower...

My wife and I stayed one night in the Delamater Inn which offers various accommodation options. Our room was very large, with a king bed. Electric fire, fridge, the usual room accessories (hairdryer, TV, etc). A nice touch was the complimentary sherry and that the coffee machine was Keurig. The room was clean and while the decor was distinctly old...
