The hotel is quaint and authentic. It has original plank flooring and narrow stairs to the guest rooms. Very different from the stock chain contemporary hotels. We stayed in a River room with a terrace overlooking the train tracks and the Hudson. While it is old it is clean and not musty. It has been renovated with a spacious modern...

I just returned from 3 days at The Rhinecliff Hotel. It is a perfect place to escape from the hurly burly of New York City. It is spotless, the entire staff is terrific, extremely nice and very accommodating. The rooms are lovely with king or queen size beds so terribly comfortable, while the bathroom is ultramodern containing virtually all the...

Historic railway hotel. Rooms very roomy and comfortable. Restaurant has great menu with interesting items like blood pudding. Wonderful Eggs Benedict. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Will definitely return. Very reasonably price for quality received. GREAT VIEWS!!!

Dear Carol, Thank you for taking the time to write and let us know you had a good time, we really do appreciate it! Certainly we've always worked hard to make our home-cooked breakfast a thing of beauty, Full English Breakfast all the way is our motto! (or, Eggs Benedict can indeed be substituted, at a pinch....!!) So do please...

After spending two weeks with family and needing to travel to Toronto via train from Rhinecliff, this hotel was exactly what we needed. Despite being New Year's Day the receptionist was able to cater for us with being only one room available. We found this was exactly what we needed in terms of a break before we resumed our holiday....

Dear J, Thank you so much for your very kind words, we're so glad you enjoyed your little break with us! We know our prices aren't the cheapest, but we like to think the quality of what we offer is generally rather good, and besides that, riverfront property, and a 5 million dollar renovation do erm.....well, you know! So anyway,...

The good: Nice size room, comfy bed and good view of the lake. Very friendly service. Not so desirable: Dirty bathtub with at least 3 other colors of nail polish in it from other guests. Gross. They are not kidding when they say it sounds like a freight train is coming through your even with ear plugs in. Decor was...

Dear Jennifer, Well I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy our little hotel, cleanliness is something we generally don’t have issues with, so I’m very sorry to hear about this. The train, well we’re a railway hotel and we endeavor to make that abundantly clear to everyone before check-in, it’s all All Aboard or nothing with us really! And I’m sorry...

To me quaint denotes something pleasantly old fashioned. That's hardly the case here. If seeing old wooden beams and hearing every hallway sound is your pleasure, by all means book here. The young woman who check us in couldn't have cared less about her job. No eye contact, no warmth, no useful information. No one answers the phone at the...

Dear Andy, Well I’m very sorry your stay didn’t work out well. We of course try very hard to follow up on any complaints, so I researched our notes and alas we didn’t quite realize how unhappy it seems you were! We do test all our rooms out regularly, and one of our managers had just stayed in your room,...

My fiancé and I had an AMAZING stay at the Rhinecliff! The hotel is so quaint and a perfect getaway from the city! We loved the reclaimed wood throughout as well as the recycled artwork! The food, prepared by James, was the best we've had in a long time. The view from our room's balcony was beautiful! Being near the...

This was the worst Band B experience of a lifetime of travel. Hotel is charming, staff kind and breakfasts good. BUT...they booked a wedding and there is NO sound proofing. The noise was impossible. They have many complaints about this year in, year out and do nothing. They obviously do not care about the traveler's experience. SAD. I left furious....

Dear Julie, Thank you for taking the time to share your feelings with the world, painful as it is, we always try to learn from our mistakes and we shall do so again this time. There is no denying there was a wedding booked in the hotel on the night you stayed, and as weddings usually are, it was indeed...

Fantastic hotel with great sunset views over the Hudson. Railroad runs adjacent to the hotel for great for train watching. Passenger service is infrequent and stops overnight, freight service only a couple of times per night. Lovely rooms with whirlpool bath and balcony. Floors are wooden and a little creaky which adds old style character. Take a riverside railroad trip...

I wish I could be more positive, but his hotel was one of our great disappointments during a trip to the Hudson Valley. The hotel sits on a unique piece of property with a commanding view of the Hudson River. It is also across the street from an Amtrak station where the train from Manhattan to Albany makes regular stops--a...

Dear P, I’m so sorry you didn’t have a great experience with us, we ordinarily do like to pride ourselves on our service and facilities. The hotel is a fairly small, and historic building, and suffers some of the disadvantages caused by these aspects of its existence. There are only two small levels of rooms, when we investigated installing an...
