My girlfriend and I were looking for place to stay for a night while we were hiking up in the Catskills, and the Roxbury had a couple rooms still available. It was an extra 45 minutes past our trail but it looked quirky and fun and was reasonably priced, so we gave it a shot and we are both so glad we did! Its personality is far more eccentric than the pictures can possibly capture, but not in a tacky way--the hotel is really lux and the attention to detail is INCREDIBLE. We were in the Firkin Barrel room at the Stratton Falls building and in some ways it really felt like we were living in a barrel of butter. The Stratton Falls grounds and feature a private waterfall, and while the pool is seasonal (obviously since it's in upstate NY), the firepit, lawn games, and nearby hiking trails ensure that you'll never be bored in this remote and peaceful corner of the Catskills. If you still need to check the boxes for your traveling companion, you can rest assured that the beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms modern and pristine (with huge bathtubs in most rooms), the toiletries are top quality, the rooms are soundproofed well, the A/C is strong yet quiet, the complementary breakfast was good given the circumstances (bagged meals in lieu of breakfast buffet during the pandemic), and perhaps most importantly right now, their COVID-protocols were perfect. Seriously, the place was totally immaculate, it felt like we were the first people ever to stay there. I've stayed at many hotels during the pandemic and this was, by far, the cleanest. My only regret is how quickly the place seems to book up, especially the most popular rooms. We wanted to look into another stay at the Cindarella cottage and it's sold out through the fall. The Fairy Forest cottage is booked into next year. There are many other great rooms, but I guess the secret is out so if you are planning to spend any time in the Catskills this summer, I strongly suggest nailing down your itinerary ASAP so you can lock up a room at the Roxbury. Thanks again to the wonderful staff that made our short stay so memorable. You were very accommodating to move us to the Firkin Barrel room so that the water main break in town wouldn't affect us and you were so helpful when we wanted to know about hiking trails/activities/meals/etc. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Hotel's Favourite
We've stayed here so many times in the last year that it's like our home away from home. We love coming to the Roxbury Experience because we love the Catskills, and we love coming to the Catskills because we love the Roxbury Experience! In 2018/2019 we stayed in the Adam's family themed room, the I dream of Jeannie themed room, the Mozart themed room, the star trek themed room (multiple times for the last two). All of our stays were just fantastic - designed and kept with love and care, and always with that feeling of home away from home. In 2020 we've started exploring the new Roxbury Stratton falls and I have to say it's better than any of the photos and videos on Instagram and Facebook! The creativity, imagination, dedication, hardwork, and blood sweat and tears put in to this place come through and it is a wonder of the Catskills. We've stayed in Galileo's town house and are currently cuddled up in the Dashing Haberdashery (it's so beautiful) and are already contemplating our next trip (which will be next week in the Beautiful Blacksmith if all goes well). Even with it's soft opening this place is immaculate and perfect! I can't recommend our home away from home enough!

Stayed at the motel Partridge family room. Was super impressed with our stay. I can tell the 2 owners are very proud of their creation, as they should be. Their attention to detail is what counts with me, and they do not disappoint. Very concerned about their guests satisfaction. Extremely clean, sanitizing to the max. The best part however is the outstanding creativity both inside and out. Now we stayed at the motel, which are the smaller rooms (ours was perfect). The other location at Stratton Falls is 2.2 miles away and is stunning. A quick visit to the lobby...wow wow. Color schemes and display of vintage china, history on display (ceiling!). Double wow. Incorporating history in to room designs, Triple wow. Lastly, rebuilt trails to the falls, stellar. Cannot wait to return. Staying at mansion next time. After a long stretch of non existent hotel options in Catskills park, this is so welcome.

I stayed in each location over the course of 3 days and let me tell you: This place is pure magic! MY place going forward will definitely be the Mansion Hotel of the property. I stayed in The Mill of the Frozen Falls and it was so clean and pristine that I was almost afraid to sleep there because I didn't want to mess it up, lol. I loved how I could open the large windows up to the porch and see a huge tree with light streaming through AND I could see the bonfire at night. I also liked that they had the breakfast prepared for you on the table in a nice bag and trusted the guests enough to get our own juices and yogurt (other places would not be so kind). And the Covid protocols were insane. I've been to a couple of hotels since the Pandemic started and I swear, the personal items you needed to use were sealed up tight upon arrival: the remote, toiletries, etc. I was shocked. Lastly, I think my favorite part of this location is that you can look out and see those amazing cottages (definitely will book those with more people), access to a cute spa, access to making a bonfire yourself, places to sit on the porch and read and THAT WATERFALL! It's amazing how many different activities you can get in a location that size. The seclusion of this place is perfect for relaxing and unplugging from The City. I will definitely return!
