Detailed Reviews
We reserved in February. Readng reviews last month made me nervous. Wasted energy. The Motel rooms were clean, new laminate flooring, soft sheets and towels. It's a motel not the Ritz. My group had 5 rooms and each one was fine!! Close to the race track and several great restaurants within walking distance. There no longer is a pool if you are looking for one. We did not care. Totally worth it would stay there again.

Save yourself a lot of money and stay at The Springs! This is a basic motel, but the owners are wonderful, the rooms are very clean, and the price is fantastic. I would never call this motel "cheap." Don't worry about flimsy mattresses or paper-thin sheets: the beds are very comfortable with quality linens and pillows. The secure wi-fi was terrific also. I'll definitely stay here the next time I'm in town! A++++!

My husband is working in the area and we were so blessed to have found this privately owned motel. The owners, Karl and Gail, take a lot of pride in their motel and it shows. They really go out of their way to accommodate their guests. Everything was clean. The carpets were freshly shampooed and the beds were new. The staff is friendly and the location was great. We will definately stay with them again.

Stayed here in July for a Dave Matthew’s concert. We realize that all the hotels jack up their prices during this event but for the amount we paid, we expect at the very least a wastebasket for garbage in the room. When asked for one, the office employee stared at me like I was asking for silk sheets. We had to throw any trash we accumulated in a large trash can in front of the office.
The room also smelled of smoke and mustiness. The light fixture in the bathroom was missing a bulb which made things dull and depressing. It also reflected the lack of upkeep which is always a red flag.
When the shower didn’t work, we went to the office to complain but no one was there. When we called them, no one returned our call (still waiting). At this point, we were thoroughly disgusted and spoke to a cleaning lady in front. A guy overheard us and said we needed to pull the shower knob VERY hard for it to work. Be advised: If you don’t regularly press two hundred pound weights and are not akin to a bodybuilder, you won’t be enjoying a shower. Period.
This motel might make some big bucks in the short term for people who are desperate for a room because they’re going to an event at SPAC (which is very close by). But that’s a very poor way to run a business. For the long term, they won’t make it because people spread the word. We would have considered this same hotel when we venture to Saratoga again if it was clean and decent (no silk sheets needed) but our experience was so unpleasant, we will never stay there again unless, of course, it changes hands.
The one star is for the close proximity to SPAC.

We have stayed at this hotel for over 15 years, since the new owners took it over a few years it has gone downhill. This year, they refused to refund our money (that was paid in full in December) even though we adhered to their policy of canceling more than 75-80 days prior to check on. Management ignored all calls and emails for three months. We pulled up to the hotel and saw that the pool had been drained and filled with rocks, When we checked in the manager was extremely unprofessional and rude. We did not feel safe and we left not even staying the first night.

To begin, we stayed at this motel in July 2022. It was perfectly adequate for our needs. We decided to stay there again last week for one night as we were in Saratoga for the horse races. This time everything was totally different. Firstly, the internet and TV access was down. For $280/night that's the least one could expect. Most importantly was the condition of the toilet. It was not flushed. Somebody (presumably the housekeeping staff) left a deposit. Can you imagine anything more disgusting? Naturally there was no staff member on duty at the time. When I called the provided phone number a man answered who seemed to be impaired or under the influence of something. After explaining my discovery he yelled at me and hung up. We decided we shouldn't flush the toilet as we couldn't be sure that it would overflow. What to do? Use the bathtub for number 1 and go to McDonalds next door for number 2.
It is clear that Saratoga Springs hotels gouge their guests up to 3 times their usual rates during race days and the Springs Motel is still the cheapest deal we could find. But for $280/night is it too much to ask for a clean toilet?

Over the past year this motel has been sold from a mom-and-pop operation to a multi national conglomerate known as blue star Enterprises. They are clearly someone who should not be in the Motel business. They don’t return phone calls, And more often than not there is no one at the phone. I tried to cancel my reservation due to COVID-19, and the woman answering the phone stated the company is not Honoring any cancellations. I have been staying at this motel for over 25 years. But no more. It’s a black eye For the Saratoga department of tourism the black eye for Saratoga in general.

We made reservations in December 2019, for $900.00. Want to cancel and get a refund because of the pandemic. Owner said no, and if I caused any more trouble with asking about a refund, he’d see me in court. Said he was rolling the reservations over to next year. No where in the contract that we signed mentioned a cancellation policy or anything about a refund. Carl and Gail made a huge mistake when they sold to this sleazebag !!!!

Stayed here for many years . Terrible now but last year (2020) started asking for my 1800 in refunds for 2 rooms for the Whitney. No one returned my emails or phone calls for 7 weeks.
I contacted Consumer Affairs in Albany and filled the detailed form out by 3 pm.
Interesting enough by 1 pm the next day the Springs called me and wanted me to tell them how much they owed me I said really how about 1800. Three days later i got a check in the mail for 1800. Karl and Gail are surely missed. These people are a piece of work. I think they are waiting to tear it down or waiting for it to fall down. Sorry for the people who didnt get refunds. A week later consumer affairs contacted me to see if i got my refund.

+1
When I saw the rooms I was shocked! It was not clean at all! In Covid time, cleaning is the most important thing. People smoke inside rooms, it smells so bad, blankets have hokes from cigarettes. I paid for 2 nights, and did not stay even one! End up renting a hotel in Holiday inn. Stuff did not wear masks!

The place is condemned.
I think they do but you'd need to call them: (518) 584-6336
I'm not sure but if you call their office they will be more than happy to help with any questions. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Dude, I think you have the wrong cowboy again, I was never harrassed, bullied, or ridiculed by the owner, in fact he was very cool. So, no schmak, schmak here...
