The cottage itself is awesome--spacious, yet supplied with a queen bed, sofa, desks, chairs, an armoire and chest of drawers, and an entertainment center. There is also a nice bathroom, but no kitchen because breakfast is served in the host's breakfast room. The place is just off of a residential street, so there is some occasional noise from passing cars,... More

We've now stayed at The Red Cottage several times. It is beautiful, immaculate, and the owner couldn't be more congenial. We think it's more pleasant than a 5-star hotel. Great breakfast on top of an idyllic setting is like frosting on the cake.

After a family wedding, The Red Cottage and its gracious owner, Stafford Davis, provided us with a calm hideaway for two nights. Surrounded by mature trees and gardens, and watched over by the most polite dog on earth, the cottage is clean, stylish and roomy, with a charming sleeping alcove. The bathroom is updated and elegant. There's a minifridge, no... More

We've been coming to the Red Cottage for years. It's the only place I'll stay in the Capital Region. The cottage is extremely comfortable and always immaculate. The setting is secluded and quiet, and simply relaxing in the cottage or on the grounds is often the most pleasurable part of a trip to the region for me. Stafford treats her... More

I agree with everything that the previous reviewers have said. This is a delightful place to stay when visiting the NY Capital District. The setting is very private and the grounds are delightful, yet you are minutes from anyplace you might want to visit. The owner, Stafford Davis, is an excellent chef and a wonderful host. She is very interested... More

The cottage is extremely comfortable and clean, with every amenity provided by the inn keeper to make a guest's stay enjoyable. The inn keeper, Stafford Davis,... More

My in-laws stayed at The Red Cottage while in town for the wedding. It was the perfect place - quiet, private, well appointed, and with excellent breakfasts. They stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the gardens and the courteous owner, Stafford. The Red Cottage is a real gem.
