Don't be fooled by the pictures of the mansion. Chances are you'll end up in the "dorm" style rooms which are small, noisy and contain few amenities.. not even a hotel guide. The bar and restaurant closes early so if you want a late night snack.. good luck. You will be rudely escorted out with a plastic cup for your...

Dear LilAtlanticHighlands: Thank you for your comments. We apologize if there was any confusion with which room you booked. The King House Mansion, the oldest building on the Estate, has 10 distinctive rooms which are detached from the rest of the Estate. My wife and I stayed there for a long weekend. We booked the room online but called the hotel with some questions. We spoke with Steve C. he went above and beyond in helping us maximize our experience and redid our reservations to give us access to several local attractions which the third party website did not include. That phone...

I stayed here with my family during the summer. We chose it because of the photos displayed on the web (mainly gorgeous pool and outdoor areas) and its location which worked well for us being within easy striking distance of the Manhattan. The hotel and grounds itself are charming. However a huge let down for us was to find out...

Dear currymonster37: Thank you for sharing your thoughts with our TA community. It is unfortunate that you were unaware of our 21+ Adults Only Outdoor Pool policy prior to your stay. We actually began promoting the Adults Only pool in early January and it went into full effect at the beginning of this Summer Season. It is also listed throughout...

I wasn't pleased with the Tarrytown Estate at first. To begin, I hadn't done my research and thought we were staying in the historic buildings, not an outdated, Comfort Inn type of room. Not for that price, I thought! The room seemed just ok, but upon closer inspection, the volume on the TV couldn't play louder than the air conditioning...

Sprawling property. Spacious rooms. Fully, but sparsely furnished and decorated. The weirdest thing was that there were plastic glasses in the bathroom that were not wrapped in plastic. This is a Holiday Inn feature, not for a class of property as this. The bed was comfortable. Good pillows (a rarity). Floors very thin. I could imagine the folks on the...

Dear KARXPRT: Thank you for your comments for our TripAdvisor community. The guestrooms are decorated to maintain the atmosphere of the historic Estate and its charm. I have stayed at this resort before, but felt it necessary to join trip advisor just to write a review. Dear thegoob60: Thank you for sharing your comments with our TA community.
