Ann and Alan Frederick were wonderful hosts. Alan waited up for our late arrival. Ann prepared beautiful and delicious breakfasts served on elegant china. The Pratt Smith House is Located on the border of Utica. We enjoyed using the Pratt Smith house as we cycled different parts of the Erie Canal.

I loved all the wonderful vintage treasures that abound in this warm and comfortable house. For a traveler wanting a sterile evironment, this isn't the place for you! I truly enjoyed my room with a private bath. The hosts were super warm and friendly and served the most delicious baked egg for breakfast that was perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend...

Arrived at 8pm ( check in time is 4-9) only to find that our room was given to another traveler. We were provided with a different room that did not meet our original booking. The owner did say he tried to get a hold of us but due to high data rates as a visitor to the US, we did...

My husband and I stayed at the Pratt Smith house for two nights while in Utica for a family reunion. Our hosts, Anne and Alan Frederick, were welcoming, warm and gracious. Breakfast each morning was delicious and filling without being overly so. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The house is chock full of fun antique ladies' hats and nick...

This B&B is a 200 yeeeear house made of bricks. The history of thee house is documented in a nice book in every room. The proprietors live in an annex and privacy is total. The place shows its age but is well maintained and full off charm. Two large and comfrotable rooms on the second floor with a shower, and...

Stayed the night while passing through Utica, and we were very happy with our choice. The hosts were kind and the house was cute and quirky. The homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious, she made us a fruit fritter, spinach quiche, and carrot cake. She was also more then willing to make a side dish to accommodate special requests. For the...

My husband and I were on a road trip and had unexpected car trouble and got stuck by chance in Uitca New York. We checked Trip Advisor for any cool places to stay at a reasonable price to try to make the most out of misfortune. This turned out to be one of the best parts of our roadtrip. Very...

Wonderful hosts, very gracious and welcoming.Delicious homemade breakfast, and cookies in room upon arrival. It was a great steal price wise and right on our way which was great. There were three of us and the hosts kindly provided a extra roll-a-way cot. Cannot stress how sweet the couple were. I forgot my favorite ring there and they shipped it...

We thank Anne and Alan for opening their wonderful historic home to travelers. We have stayed here 3 times because we enjoy their company, their peaceful home, and outstanding breakfasts. Anne is a collector...each time we notice more ...books, hats, tea pots...and it is obvious that she knew what she wanted when she chose the items....you will not get bored!!

My husband, daughter (age 4) and myself stayed at the Pratt Smith House in 2010. Although it is somewhat off of the beaten path, it is very easy to find from the Interstate. We were greeted by Anne and Alan Frederick, the innkeepers, who were the perfects hosts! The home is a brick Federal style colonial adorned with many antiques...
