We're in the hunt for B & B's between us and our frequent Albany-area destination. That's how we found this urban inn with its 16-foot ceilings, incredibly soft sheets, and sumptuous hand soap that smelled so French. Tea and coffee beckoned, shortbread and cookies grabbed us as we passed the front desk on the way to our first floor room...

Utica is located near Rome and Fort Plain New York where my ancestors lived before relocating to Wisconsin in the mid 1800's. I was visiting the area with a professional genealogist who is also a friend of mine to do some onsite genealogical sleuthing. The Rosemont was a perfect place to stay and the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful...

Lovely oasis in the city. Victorian charm abounds throughout. While the room maintains old charm, the bathrooms have been nicely updated. Comfy bed! Very clean, friendly owners. Nice breakfast. Easy to locate with parking.

Thank you, mpd, for your kind words. We are glad you appreciated our period-style bathrooms with claw foot tubs. We know they are not for everyone. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Best, Rita Sleys

While cycling the Erie Canal path from Syracuse to Albany we stayed overnight at the Rosemont Inn in Utica, NY. Getting to the Inn was straight forward as you just travel south on Genesee Street from the Canal path, to reach it. The owners were very accommodating, having us put our bikes inside the house for safe keeping overnight. The...

A weekend overnight stay here after a long day of driving and came back for another visit on our way home. It is charming old mansion on the main drag a short distance from the NYS thruway. The room was very spacious with an ensuite bath, a quaint parlor off the main entrance to help yourself to tea and coffee...

We spent a week in the Othello room: large and very clean with a comfortable king bed and a private bath with claw foot tub. The breakfast alone was worth the 14 hour drive from Charleston, SC. It begins with fruit and is followed by an egg dish and bread. There were also rose-shaped muffins. The omelet made with local...

Wow, what a great compliment Laura L--our breakfast was worth the 14 hour drive! We have fantastic farmers and other food producers here in Upstate NY and it doesn't take much to transform those great products into fantastic, memorable meals. You and your husband were a pleasure to serve and we look forward to having the opportunity to serve you...

I stayed here in October for 1 night! Slightly disappointed in the area it was in! Construction everywhere, neighborhood not so good! Also, disappointed to find that the owners were not there, did not get to meet them! The room itself was very cramped, the windows cannot be opened at all, one big curtain behind bed hiding large window! Smell...

This is our 2nd stay. Bob and Rita are the most hospitable Inn Keepers you could ever ask for in a BB. My family and I loved their warm and inviting enthusiasm, and attention to details. The rooms are well maintained and cozy. We highly recommend staying at the Rosemont....Oh, the breakfast is awesome!
