We had always wanted to go to the Hamptons to see what all the fuss was about, and know we know why, make the pilgrimage! Having made the trip over from Australia we were wise with our money as we wanted to travel around various parts of New York state and other regions on the east coast. When we looked at accommodation online we were blown away by the cost of accommodation and B&B around the Hamptons area in particular East Hampton. You can pay up to $500 in low season and although these places are quaint and we drive last them and they are in prime location you could really save your money and stay at the Wainscott Inn as we did. Situated in the Montauk hiway there is no noise transfer to your rooms, we had a studio cabin and it was clean and tidy with comfortable

I stayed at the Inn for 3 nights at the end of August with my husband and baby. We took a few days to just get away from the city and it was perfect. I was not expecting fancy or luxary so I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of our room and the nice hospitality of the people working there. We were on the 2nd fl ( can't remember what rm #) and while we knew the hotel had other guests it was super quiet and felt very private. The bed was comfy and the room was decorated like most hampton places- beachy and minimalist. There was a mini fridge a tv that was fine and a large bathroom. AC was pumping and honestly no complaint about anything. The breakfast in the morning was lovely as well. Fresh fruit, muffins, pastry, cheese, bagels and yogurt. We didn't take

We have visited the Wainscott Inn for many years at least twice each year. We discovered it when we were looking for a place to stay that was conveniently located between Bridgehampton and East Hampton. Much to our absolute delight, we disscovered the Wainscott Inn. It was perfect for the two of us. A lovely studio room with a refrigerator, microwave , sink, and table and chairs. Plus free wi fi and of course, a TV. The bed was comfortable , the air conditioning was quiet and efficent, and they serve a wonderful continental breakfast each morning in season. The owners, Jim and Steve are two very nice guys that try to keep their guests "happy" and they always seem to succeed. The rate (which is very fair) also includes daily maid service. We are looking forward to our return

I cannot comment on the hotel stay because I never got there, but I had a really horrifically frustrating and disappointing experience trying to make a reservation at this hotel. I called the hotel to get a rate quote for one night (going to Hamptons for a wedding) and Steve (said he is co-owner, would not give me his last name) said one night was fine and that the rate was $200. I also asked if he had three other rooms for that night for the three friends I would be traveling with and he said yes. I said I'd call back once I'd checked in with friends. I then sent my friends an email with the details I had found out. Maybe half hour later, I called back to make my reservation. He said, oh now I see is supposed to be a weekend with a two night minimum, BUT I will wave that

Wainscott Inn is probably among the lower priced accommodations in the Hamptons, which is why we stayed there. It's pleasant enough, located in a lovely setting and with good service -but only in the Hamptons would a place like this be able to charge $225/night! The motel-style room we stayed in was clean and large and the bed was comfortable. The only problem was a defective shower head with a mind of its own. The breakfast was "continental" but we were pleased to see some protein among the items. Unfortunately, the food was set out in a dark, lifeless room. Given the price, a lot could be done to spiff things up!

and that was a central spot to lay our head. with that, my requirements are clean, safe, friendly. the old 'motel' side has been renovated. the shower was small for the average bear. don't expect to luxuriate in the shower, it's an in and out type of space. the tv was large and the a/c worked well. there were no disruptions as far as neighbor noise. route 27, which the hotel is on, has moving traffic all day. so if sheer peace and quiet is what you're after, unfortunately it won't be had here. my friend was fine with the car traffic, i on the other hand really just wanted to hear the birds and the breeze. the breakfast was a nice surprise. they had organic oatmeal, tons of fresh cut fruit, yogurt, bagels and danish. thanks guys will def recommend.

The Wainscott Inn has a lot going for it. Here is a partial list of what we really enjoy! 1. location, location, location, location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is conveniently located between Bridgehampton and East Hampton. Also, a short drive to Southampton. 2.They will furnish you with a beach pass and you must use it at the beaches that are near by or face a $125.00 fine and they hit you fast. 3.Their pool is large and you can swim laps or lounge in the shallow part if you prefer. Pool lounge chairs are comfortable and they also have tables and chairs. 4. Tennis courts are available on the property 5. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and well groomed surroundings. 6. Jim and Steve are the owners and they are terrific guys and eager to

This place is pretty much a dump... I am not a fancy person, and am pretty easy to please. Holes in the blankets on bed, bugs on the bathroom ceiling, soiled carpeting, tiny TV stuck up in the corner of the room, terrible tiny shower with plastic walls that I could barely move around in. All this for $300 a night- not worth it all. Next time I will stay at a Hampton Inn 30 miles out of town and drive into the Hamptons to play. Front desk owner said breakfast was offerred on Sat. and Sun. mornings. Went to partake at 8:15 on Sat. and nothing was put out or ready- not even a coffee pot. You guys really need to up your game!

I have stayed at the Wainscott Inn several times in the past year the most recent being in April 2011. I highly recommend the Wainscott Inn for value and comfort. It is located about a mile east of Bridgehampton and about six miles from East Hampton. Although it is essentially a motel along Highway 27 it is situated on a large property and is set back considerably from the highway. The rooms are large. They have been renovated and some have cathedral ceilings with skylights. There is a large swimming pool on the grounds. The daily linen service is very good and the proprietors are pleasant and helpful. I know the area well and there are few comparable properties. This one is a keeper.

The Waintscott Inn is a great place to stay while in the Hamptons. I plan a trip with a group of friends during Polo season and it is the best value and it is a gorgeous place. The owners are friendly and will go out of their way to help guests. It is located in a great location and very easy to get to and go to other places from. The rooms a very nice - beautiful main house - and you feel like home. I love it and will be back again Dionne Williams Chicago, Illinois
