We really had a wonderful 2night stay at Tama! The authentic decor and friendly, welcoming staff made us feel right at home. It's really not hard absolutely adoring them (especially Aminata,Mari-Louise and caring guy who so quietly moved around late afternoon lighting all the lanterns💡) Dinner was absolutely amazing, we couldn't get enough! Some suggestions from our side: 1.Some music needed...

I cannot say enough about this incredible hotel--a real find! The physical installations were flawless, the atmosphere relaxing, and the service incredibly friendly and attentive. However, the FOOD.... that's where Tama Lodge TRULY really goes above and beyond expectations. The food is melt-in-your-mouth, scrumptious, 5 star quality--truly delectable. If you can tear yourself off of Tama Lodge, it is also...

If only all hotels were like Tama Lodge. The service is friendly, efficient and discreet. The food is excellent, fresh daily and simply but beautifully cooked. We were fortunate enough to stay in The Malian Room, a suite that had a magnificent selection of African wooden statues, many more of these artworks are displayed in the grounds and in a tented...

We stayed for 5 nights in Tama Lodge in March 2014. It felt like paradise. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Everything is done with attention. Even the way the breakfast is put on your table is with attention. Every detail is thought about. There wasn't a single thing that looked better on the internet than in real life. The food...

We've liked Tama Lodge very much. It is very special, not average. Why? Because of the sunny beach, the delicous food they serve and the kind people who work at the lodge. The sunset was beautiful each day, temperatures high. You should note that its location is not remote, many local Mbour people live very close by, which makes is...

We stayed one week in January, wanting to find a nice place to get away from busy Europe, but not willing to fly far, but have great weather. Look no further, we found it! Tama lodge is conveniently close to the Dakar airport, however Mbour is far enough from Dakar to leave the busy city life behind. The lodge is...

We had a lovely stay. The beach huts are lovely, the food wonderful, the staff helpful and attentive to detail and the location stunning. We also got help with the planning of trips and the guides whom the lodge is working with are very professional. Also happy to say that the excursions were fairly priced which is otherwise often not...

I selected this small, boutique beach hotel because of the interesting West African sculptural art collection the owner had put together but I was astonished at how interesting it was and how beautiful and delightful the hotel itself is. Comprised of four African chief huts, a large and exquisite round house, some garden rooms and a a beautiful art filled...

I hovered between 4 and 5 stars on my rating - a couple of niggles on service brought it down but it could almost claim the top rating. We had a "casa plage" - which is quite set back from the beach which is probably a good thing in light of the busy beach. Very nicely deocrated, comfortable bed and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the heart on Senegal’s “Petite Cote” (the Small Coast), between Mbour’s fishing port and the seaside resort of Saly, the Tama Lodge preserves authenticity. The cabins are made of local materials, built on the sand of one of most beautiful beaches in the country, in a nest of greenery. In every one of the nine rooms, inspired from colours of Africa, with simplicity and elegance, you will find pieces of traditional handcraft : Kuba fabric from Congo, bed covers made of Mali’s bogolan, Touareg tent stakes, mortars and pestles… The whole lodge is full of charms of Africa, and offers, in its original setting, an exotic, mild and relaxing break. ... more   less
