It's a good place to stay in 3 days but not more than that.
Villa vanilla is a relaxing place not too noisy and all you can hear is the sound of the birds and great views of the mountain from our bedrooms and receiving area. Plus is near to the waterfalls.
Villa Vanilla have some issues when it comes to their bathroom door which is hard to closed it. The bed is squeaking everytime we moves. They clean the bedroom everyday but they don't change the towels or bedsheets every 2 days unlike to the other accommodation. Breakfast was okay, we are expecting that they will change the menu everyday 😁.
Villa Vanilla should trained their staff on proper serving of food specially to handover a glass of water.
This hotel is far from the main road they said is 800 meters by walk but in reality is 800 meters by car.
Recommended to rent a car because sometimes when your trying to book a taxi there's no available.
Shout out to Ms. Yolanda for being the best!!

First and important If you want to stay here a small luxury villa with a million dollar view in your bedroom and breakfast. YOU MUST RENT A CAR. I was charged 50 euro! one way from Mahe port to here and 800 SCR from here to aiport.
Small luxury wooden hotel on the hill with national park and ocean views Don't miss a chance if the best room in hotel is available, it's worth to stay. Walk down from hotel to the street is take about 10-15 minutes upon your leg strength (yes it's very steep) and if you don't have a car, come back before 6.30 PM after that the path is very dark and dangerous.
The owner is very lovely and nice I loved her! She can advised you many thing about this island, she can booked restaurant and taxi for you.
A good place to stay and relaxed.

Stayed for 4 nights with my husband for our honeymoon and the staff were great. Especially the lady with the paw print tattoos she is absolutely wonderful and deserves recognition for her above and beyond customer service! Very quiet place not much about in regards to shops and restaurants. The only downside was that we had to pay everything in cash which meant daily cash machine trips because of our withdrawal limit, sometimes all the way to Victoria when local ones didn't work. Very annoying and a waste of our precious time. Also not professional at all paying 16000 rupees in cash. Other than that all was ok nice breakfast, lovely bed and bathroom

On 09/04/2021 Villa Vanila over-charged us completely at 25 SCR per EUR for our stay while the true rate wat 20 SCR per EUR! They quote in EUR. When we told them real rate the whole experience turned into a nightmare and she then used 24 SCR per EUR. The Manager sighed and said she ALWAYS have to explain this then she shows you an old table from barclays with the rate she prefers to use. Old trick of them. People be very careful!!! They will probably have to rebrand again soon. I took a photo at airport where their rate is 18 SCR per EUR on 16/04/2021. Villa Vanilla overcharges A LOT in this way... will never go back.

My husband and I are pleased we booked in Villa Vanilla. The service was very personalized. Margaret is such a gem and had been very helpful. The chef was excellent with his creations during dinner as we booked a half board.

We recently spent 5 glorious days in Villa Vanilla. Such a personable place with the most breathe taking views. Mirka was only there for a month but she created a wonderful ambience with her constant attention to please the guest. I would more than recommend to stay here. It’s truly a dream place to stay. Thank you so much for making our stay one to remember forever Regards Dawn & Nick

If you want to spend a holliday in a lush tropicall forrest look no further. Seychelles are not only about beaches, but also about pristine tropical forrests and villa vanilla sits in the middle on one. Property is build on the hill about 500 meters from the beach, but it is pretty steep road so hiring a car is pretty much compulsory. Villa is beautifull. It is recently remodeled in it can be seen. Room is big, balconies have great views, pool is also great. Manager Carolina is a great person and made us feel like home. Breakfast was really tasty and all services were perfect. Only a short walk from the hotel is beautifull waterfall with small lagoon where you can swim in the middle of tropicall forest. We have stayed for two days and I have to tell you, it is not enough. Simply perfect

We have just got married at Villa Vanilla and We could not imagine a better place for our honeymoon neither. The place is simply extraordinary sorrounded by mountains and with view on the ocean as well. Clean and neat place with a very nice and helpful staff. Very romantic and relaxed athmosphere. The place is at the top of the mountain so its good if you rent a car. Special thanks for the extra pancakes and the excellent breakfast. Whatever you need just ask the Manager help :) they are really customer focused. Great value for your money!

The main reason we have chosen Villa Vanilla were its spectacular views. If you have ever played Far Cry 3 or Uncharted, you will understand. The place is located at the top of the hill, among lush tropical greenery, just at the foot of Morne Seychelles National Park and its second highest peak – Morne Blanc. Thanks to the enormous windows and a large terrace our room had, we could drink in the beauty and magnificence of the surroundings. The villa itself does not resemble any other hotel we have seen on Seychelles. Its wooden structure seems like an integral part of the hill it sits on. It is very elegant and resembles colonial style architecture. The two parts of the villa are connected by a spacious, open terrace where you can relax, use wifi or have a drink with the host and villa's manager – Kamil, who is a great guy, always ready to help and tell you something interesting about the islands. Next to the terrace is a very nice pool and a very well-kept garden. All looks really well looked-after. The room we booked was spacious and nicely decorated. There was no hair-dryer, but you can get one if you ask the staff. The air con was working fine and there was also a mosquito net above the bed (which was itself huge and comfy). The breakfast was typical continental style, but all was fresh and tasty and there was a large selection of fruits and local teas. There are no other meals served atm, but Kamil said they would be launching a restaurant in the near future. We ate at nearby Del Place and take aways (we recommend Ocean Take Away near the police station – very nice grilled fish!). As for the road to Villa Vanilla some people complain about: it is quite steep and demanding indeed, but neither the website nor any other description on the net says it isn't, just the opposite. I confirmed this by email with the manager prior to arrival and he explained everything in detail and highly recommended hiring a car or taking a taxi. All in all, we went everywhere on foot, even the distance from the hotel to Morne Blanc peak, and guess what, we still live! And we would gladly come back to Villa Vanilla as this is a gem and it would be hard to find anything similar neither on Mahe nor Praslin nor La Digue. For those who expect a five-star European standard: Mahe is a small island in the middle of Indian Ocean and the hotels here may lack some of the amenities common in European hotels, like large TVs with lots of channels or super fast wifi. On the other hand you get something much more precious: breathtaking views, pristine nature, undisturbed peace and loads of fantastic memories and Villa Vanilla is definitely the best place to cherish that all! All in all, there was only one thing my husband and I did not like: smelly towels. They changed them every two days and in a humidity like that on Seychelles they just did not dry at all and acquired that musty, unpleasant smell. Kamil - the manager said they would be buying additional tumble dryer so hopefully this problem will be solved in the near future. It should, however, be noted that every request we had was taken care of by Kamil instantly. He is a perfectionist doing his best to accommodate all his guest and make the villa an outstanding place to stay.

If you want a slightly different experience in Seychelles, away from all of the usual beachside resorts, this is the place to stay. The hotel itself has been redone and is beautiful. It has friendly & helpful staff, a great pool, filling breakfast, and free parking. Most impressive though are the views of the mountains, trees, and ocean. Each room comes with a private balcony where you can easily spend hours staring off into the distance. It is important to note that the hotel does not yet have a full service restaurant, but there is good food nearby, and this forces you to get out and try different places. Also, I would highly recommend a rental car as the hotel is up a steep road, and the various attractions on the island are not within walking distance. Instead of needing to taxi everywhere, rent a car, it will be well worth it in the end. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return upon my next trip to Seychelles!
