We (family of 4, including 2 teens) booked two adjoining rooms for our vacation to the Thousand Islands area. The location suited our needs. Yes, we had to drive to the areas on the lake and river, but we did not find this to be a big inconvenience, and we would have been driving to explore other areas no matter where we stayed. All hotel employees were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant had a nice continental breakfast spread as well and a good breakfast menu. These were not included in our room rate, but we knew that going in and were just happy they were serving breakfast at all being that many hotels are not. We did not use the pool but they do have a small pool area that was not crowded at all anytime we passed by. The gym was adequate as far as equipment, and it was kept cool, which is a plus. Some places keep their fitness centers way too warm for exercising.Rooms were very clean, water pressure was great, hotel was quiet during our stay, and beds/pillows were comfortable. In room fridge and microwave were a plus, and since the hotel was near grocery stores, we were easily able to fill up a cooler with what we needed for a day out on the water when we rented a boat. For us, this hotel had everything we needed, and was a pleasant place to stay. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had to cancel 3 baby showers due to Covid-19. Shawn the Event Director was more than accommodating during that timeframe that we knew when we were getting married we had to utilize the Hilton for our wedding reception. Trying to find a venue to accommodate 50 guests during a pandemic was not an easy task, but Shawn convinced us to have our wedding with them and I am beyond happy that I did. Leading up to the wedding Shawn was beyond accommodating answering all my crazy questions and honoring my requests to ensure I had the perfect day. The day of the wedding was no different. Our wedding was beautiful and not a single detail missed. Shawn was quick to respond and assisted me the entire time, he even fluffed my dress for me before I made my way down the aisle! It was beyond anything I could ever imagine. The rehearsal dinner was fabulous from the food and the service. Gail also took amazing care of my family and I to ensure our evening was perfect and stress free. Our wedding ended up reserving 12 hotel rooms and every single room was clean and sanitized. All our guests complimented the hotel, food and the service and plan to stay every time they come up for a visit. Every staff member made an impression on us and we will forever remember our wedding at the Hilton and how amazing the staff was. If you are looking for a great location to have a wedding, reception, shower, party I highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn Watertown/ 1000 Islands!

Room 441 - NO hot water, NO water pressure in the shower, NO washcloths - I literally had to take a hand towel in the shower to clean myself. There was freezing cold air pouring out from the windows & under heat unit. And I don't care what they have for "Hilton policy" there should be a continental breakfast for being THE most expensive hotel in the area.

The tempertaure control in my original room (135) kept switching from cold to hot without me selecting the temperture. Additionally, due to the temp change, the room had a musky smell to it that was almost unbareable. When I was moved to the new room (138) the issue with the temperature seemed to have been resolved but after the second night, I noticed that the same issue was happening. Also I noticed that the bathroom was not cleaned as good as it could have been as there was long hair in the tub (I am bald). I spoke with management who promptly switched me to a new room (138) when I explained the issue. On the first day all was well but on the second day, I noticed the same issue with room 135 where the temperature was converting to heat on its own as well as the temp was rasing on its own. The Manager James did a great job addressing the original issue in a very timely manner. However, it seems that due to the age of the hotel, their heating and cooling issue needs to be updated, as well as the cleanliness of the room verified a little better.

We got in late for a brief one night stay. After a long drive we got into our hotel room and went to brush our teeth before going straight to bed and the sink began leaking all over the floor. I don’t know how you miss a detail like this when you clearly have guests stay there previously. Maybe they just didn’t care to have it fixed. Regardless I asked for a reduced price on our stay the next morning for the inconvenience and the employee we talked to at the front desk said the best they could do was offer us a 25 dollar gift card on a future visit. Useless to us as we don’t come through Watertown often, but besides that I was shocked to hear they weren’t willing to give us a discount on a mediocre hotel room that costs upwards of 300 dollars. Very disappointed and would’ve been better off at a motel.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your recent stay. I can assure you we do care deeply about the maintenance on all of our rooms. I don't know how the trap to the sink was loosened but it was fixed immediately after reporting it. The reason the front desk agent offered the gift certificate is because the room was booked through a third party and paid for by a third party credit card. Had we adjusted the rate the company you booked through we have received a credit and you would not have been credited. We can always adjust rate like this when they are booked with Hilton or the hotel direct. The gift certificate was all we had left since no Hilton Honors was on file to offer points. My deepest apologies for the water on the floor. Your comments will help us to do better in the future. Kindest Regards, Jody Pettit, GM

The easy part of the review is the hotel was clean; provided ample parking and was located close to Fort Drum. The indoor pool and hot tub was a perfect activity, after a long drive. The restaurant served all meals that were delicious.
However, it was how the staff handled challenges that scored a 5/5 rating!
Dana (front desk) was responsive, friendly and empathetic to our needs throughout the evening when I notified her that my daughters family had a medical emergency before leaving for the 4 hr drive to the hotel making their arrival time uncertain. I kept Dana appraised of the situation, making frequent visits to the front desk and finally canceled their room. We demagnetized our room cards several times and had a problem with the TV which were all solved within minutes by cheerful staff. I told Dana we were worried about all getting into Ft Drum in time for my grandsons graduation ceremony in the morning. Dana reassured me and cheerfully offered constructive advice about access to the Ft Drum Visitors Center. Because of her patience and empathy, we all arrived on time to view the graduation! I highly recommend staying at this hotel!

The room smelled, shower was dirty, spa tub was moldy and the chick running the breakfast effectively ruined the trip for us. I will never stay there again! Also if you're looking for a free breakfast with the expensive rooms they have here... get ready to pay more money for the same sub par continental breakfast offered at the 80$/night comfort inn.

DanThe Man: Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor. These comments are much different than the one on the Hilton Survey. On Friday, February 21st at 10:00 am the entire building had the water shut down as there was work needed on the water main. The water in this building had not been turned off, with the entire building being drained, in nine years. The repair to the leak was between 137 and 139 on the first floor just below your room. The repair took approximately one hour and then the water was turned back on filling all lines to the building. We did run the water on the 4th top floor to bleed any air in the lines, however there may have been sediment in the lines causing your hot tub to have dirty water when it turned on. We let all guests know starting Tuesday and each day after that the water would be off on Friday. In hind site I probably should have had a second note for after the repair notifying all incoming guests on the weekend, of the work that had been done so they could have run the lines clean prior to filling any whirlpool tubs. My apologies, it did not occur to me until this posting. It wouldn't have been mold in the tubs water lines as those whirlpool tubs are used every weekend and cleaned frequently. As to "the chick running the breakfast" that would be Alisha our morning hostess. She did stop you during breakfast asking that you please go put on shoes or sneakers when in the restaurant. She was very pleasant and respectful with the request. It is her job to make sure all NYS laws are complied to. This is not only a cleanliness issue it is a safety issue. Glasses are broken every day in that dining room, by a waiter or by a guest. We do our best to make sure there is no glass shards, however there is no guarantee. Yes, there were several barefoot guests in the pool area and running between the swimming pool and their guest rooms which are not near the dining room. It was noted that when you did come back with your sneakers in your hand, you shoved them under the table and would not put them on. Your attitude and defiance of the NYS rules and regulations did cause friction between you and your girlfriend, however I do not believe the blame is with my staff on that. As to the sub-par continental breakfast, we do not offer a continental breakfast. Hilton Garden Inns as a brand do not offer free breakfast. We offer bed and breakfast packages and we offer vouchers to Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members. Hampton Inns and Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites all offer a free hot breakfast buffet. Hilton Garden Inns like Hilton Resorts, Conrad Resorts, Curios and other Full Service brands all charge for a full hot Breakfast. You know that this was not a continental breakfast as you were at the window with the chef ordering food. We have the bacon, sausage, home fries, scrambled eggs and all omelettes you can want made fresh and unlimited. Hilton Garden Inns do not offer a free breakfast because we have several trained cooks on staff, waitress service, hostess service and dish washers all available for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily as well as bar staff and room service. These added amenities warrant extra services and extra expenses. Our bed and breakfast package is the best way to book when staying at any Hilton Garden Inn as the cost of the breakfast buffet is deeply discounted with the room rate. We know you have many choices of locations to stay in Watertown and wish you the best in all your future travels.

A visit to this hotel was a wonderful experience. We stayed for two nights on the "bed and breakfast" package. From check-in to check out everyone went above and beyond the norm to make us welcome and comfortable. The room was beautifully clean as were the elevators and public spaces. The breakfast was superb. Everything was available including coffee, juice, cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit and all of the cooked choices. The blueberry pancakes were delicious. A small problem with the TV remote was dealt with in a matter of minutes after I called the reception desk. We will definitely be staying there again!

I stayed at this property for several days recently. The staff and managers are very professional and I was made to feel very welcome. From the comfort of the room, to all facilities properly functioning, to the very tasty breakfast (you MUST experience the omelettes!!), this is a very fine establishment. It is truly exceptional.

Don’t know, call the hotel and they will answer that question.
This hotel is in New York. You do not have to pay in Canadian.
Thank you for your question. Our hotel does allow service animals only.
The name of the room type you are requesting would be a Whirlpool room. They have a standup shower in the bathroom and a whirlpool tub for two in the bedroom area. Very soothing and romantic. We also have packages available that include dinner and a movie or our Naughty But Nice package for fun.
Thank you for inquiring and I hope to see you with us soon.
Kindest Regards,
Jody Pettit, GM
I believe it's clearly described as a jacuzzi
room. It's actually a part of the room.
I have stayed in these many times not for the in room jacuzzi but they are more spacious with a pull out sofa as well.
Great for a family. My 3 year old loves the giant tub.
There is also a full bathroom in the suite.
