We loved it! We were a group of (10) friends who travel together often and we booked Sungubala, what a pleasant surprise, it was so beautiful and much more than what we had expected. The mountains and walks are always wonderful in the Northern berg, but the camp is set in the perfect location for views, and for relaxing We...

This is a self catering place with a large kitchen and airy public areas. The sleeping accommodation is in thatch covered rondavals and are very comfortable. However, we did see other types of rooms in wooden huts and even canvas tents pitched under a permanent roof.

Semi wilderness self catering lodge in the Drakensberg mountains.Good accommodation that can get cold but they do supply lovely warm blankets. Good kitchen and communal eating area. Some good hikes into the mountains well led by Godfey or Simon.

Sungubala Eco Camp has excellent views and provide great value. The guide (Godfrey) accompanied us on the Sungubala challenge hike, which turned out to be a highlight of the weekend. Will surely come back.
