My boyfriend and I stayed here one night during an 8-day trip to Tanzania, and it was the only place we stayed where we weren't completely thrilled. The setting is lovely, and the rooms are charming. We LOVE Tanzanian food and had excellent food at all our other lodges and camps, but the fish here was almost inedibly tough, and...

We stayed here 2 nights of our 5 week tour through Africa with OAT. The tents were quite comfortable and spacious. We had zebras and elephants visit the camp during the night and day. There is a lovely eating tent with a bar and sitting area. This was the most primitive tent camp we stayed in during our trip but...

Stayed two nights at this camp - with cape buffalo visiting day and night. We were cared for with hot water bottles at night and escorts to and from our tents to the main tent. The staff were professional and friendly - the two 15 year old boys and I played cards with Mali and Ben. These gentlemen also helped...

My wife and I spent the last night of our five night safari at the kirurumu Ngorongoro tented camp, having previously stayed at the Lake Manyara and Serengeti sister camps. it is in a great location very close to the exit from the Ngorongoro crater just on the rim, however it doesn't boast any views across the crater and is...

We only stayed here one night on our way to the Serengeti but would happily have stayed longer. Getting the balance right between Cold nightly temperatures (the water bottles- yes in africa), chemical toilets, manual showers and animals wandering through the camp and all in a "temporary" tent may sound like an impossible task but the camp manager and staff really...

We arrived at dusk. Waiting for us were the hot towels and juice. Also the campfire was going. We were the only guests here, due to the unwarranted Ebola worries 4,000 miles away! We were treated like kings and queens. Because this is just outside the crater, a ranger was there - with a gun, just in case. And wouldn't...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights as part of an OAT safari. This was our most memorable camp. This is what an African safari is all about!! Real tents with bucket showers. Staff brought hot water whenever you wanted a shower. Bucket system works well. Staff put hot water bottles in your beds while you ate dinner...

This camp is well placed for a trip into the Ngorongoro Crater. As we understand it the operator only has a licence for one season at a time, so things might prove changeable from year to year. Being at altitude it is chilly, so bring that fleece. The tents were an OK size and came with a thick duvet and...

What better camping experience can one have than having a cape buffalo munching on grass right in between tents at night or returning from a game drive and having to wait for zebras to move from your doorstep? A quartet of elephants stopped us prior to entering the campsite, literally blocking the road and threatening to charge us. Staff was...

Kirurumu tent camping was having a real African adventure. The tents were very comfortable with a very welcoming staff. We had a fire to enjoy the sunset and excellent meals.
