This was hands down my favourite camp on my trip and my favourite region as well. The tents are well placed and luxurious, the service was impeccable on all counts, and each and every member of staff seemed to want to ensure that the guests have the very best time possible. And they seem to be very happy, which is...

I stayed here 2 nights after Siwandu. This property is all by itself in Ruaha. The nearest lodge is 2hrs away so you won't see another vehicle. The vehicles here are absolutely wonderful.. They only hold 4 people and you don't have to climb in or out of them. Very comfortable and civilized. The staff is so nice. Chris and...

We will never forget our time at Jongomro. We arrived to a smiling and singing welcome and we knew that we had arrived at a special place. Jongomero feels like Africa in the raw, but with luxury! The main Lodge and the “tented” rooms are cleverly designed for maximum comfort. In fact, to call our room a tent is a...

My wife and I were recommended Jongomero as a camp to visit on our honeymoon - we were at first hesitant to travel so far but our concerns were put at ease as soon as we set foot on the Jongomero airstrip! Never have we felt so welcome, as we arrived at the front of the camp we were greeted...

Recently we stayed at Jongomero Camp in the Ruaha National Park for a long weekend. From the very first moment when were picked up on the nearby airstrip we were made to feel totally at home as we were welcomed by the lodge staff singing a welcome song and treating us to a cold drink and a cold refreshing facial...

Second visit to this magical space. The attention to detail, personal notes of welcome & bedtime stories left on your pillow leave you feeling most pampered. Had the thought to ask a member of staff to refill the drinking water flask before going to lunch ... returned to the tent, remembering that I had forgotten to request water ... blow...

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights in the camp under the care of Chris and Sam, the camp managers. Being the only camp in this part of the park, you can enjoy the tranquility of the African bush and game drives with barely a sighting of another vehicle. Each game drive was different, with our guide Allan taking...

Thank you so much Jenny for your wonderful review of the camp - we are delighted you loved the remote wilderness of Jongomero. For future guests the river is the Great Ruaha - the Rufiji is in Selous Game Reserve next to our sister camp SIwandu! Come and visit both! Come back and see us again soon SSC

Beautiful soaring high ceilings to the open plan main reception/bar/lounge area and adjoining dining room, both overlooking the dry river bed. The roomy full facility tents/suites, under a thatched roof for cool shade, were arranged at intervals along the river bank on either side of the main lodge. A very comfortable bedroom, dressing room and spacious bathroom all enclosed within...

Jongomero is a fascinating location; our first safari and we were not disappointed. Jaded after our long flight from the UK, we decided to rest rather than plunge into our first game drive at 4pm, We rested in our tent, only to be joined for half an hour by 2 giraffe across the river bed. There were memorable moments when...

Such a brilliant review - thank you for posting your thoughts and stories - and we agree - the armchair safari is ridiculously underrated - sit back in the quiet of Jongo and enjoy the wildlife from the comfort of our lounge or the daybed on your veranda - really is a treat! Karibuni tena SSC

For anyone seeking a true African wilderness experience, a visit to Ruaha National Park is essential. One of Tanzania's wildest parks, Ruaha can only be described as a true unspoiled natural wilderness. Superbly isolated right in the heart of the Ruaha National Park lies Jongomero on the banks of a seasonal sand river which bears the same name. Blending in beautifully with its surroundings the camp is tucked away among some shady riverine vegetation not far from permanent water therefore attracting a large amount of animals into the camp area. Being the only camp situated in this area of the park ensures unmatched privacy and a true wilderness experience.
