Recommended by the owners of Waikiki Hotel , this lovely gem is run by Italians and offered a great accommodation for a fantastic price. My room was spectacular and soooo romantic... Great bed, great shower, soft towels (after 10 days travelling in Africa you realise you appreciate all these tiny details) and i loved the slippers and the bath robe...

African aesthetics are integrated throughout the decor making this charming boutique hotel authentic to its historic surroundings. A minute from the sea and a convenient five-minute walk to pulse center Forodhani Park, the calm of the morning also gives onto a commanding view of the sea from the rooftop breakfast room. The hotel staff is attentive and eager to assist....

Didn't sleep due to noise from neighboring disco till 2am. Frequently no water or no hot water. Despite the menu and the nice pictures of rooftop dining on their website the restaurant didn't exist anymore (for quite some time). Staf availability was very poor. It felt more like a pension than a boutique hotel.

Few weeks ago we stayed at this cute hotel and I can say we were very satisfied about everything here. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The owners were really helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable! Recommend!

Amazing hotel in an amazing building. The position is perfect, The room was nice and very clean, the rooftop terrace, with its beautiful view, is really charming, perfect to rest yourself reading a book, or having a tea. Mr. Alberto , the hotel manager , is very kind and helpful. Really recommended for every traveller!

Clean hotel, quiet place. Great rooms, Courteous staff. Good breakfast. All was good. Added benefit was good location- walk able to Africa House and 6 degrees. Like 1 minute walk. Barely 5-10 min to Fomodhani Gardens. Staff was good and arranged my prison Island tour. Definitely recommend.

One of the nicest boutique hotels I have stayed in. I wouldn't have stayed here if not for the Dhow being full and crowded. I am glad I did because the place is very pleasant and peaceful with a very helpful staff. Since the hotel is small with narrow staircases and corridors it may feel quite claustrophobic at first, but...

Really enjoyed our recent stay at Al Johari. Can't say a bad thing about this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food & drink in the uncrowded rooftop lounge was excellent. Great watching the dhows go past particularly at sunset. The room was very well appointed and had a huge bathroom including a waterfall shower.
