Nice hotel with a good location. Very close to the beach and all the attraction, places to visit, nice restaurants and Cafe and the ferry terminal. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is set menu but enough and simple, with a great view as it's on the roof top. Spacious room and nice decoration. Needs a little bit of maintenance and renovation but Ok.
I got to stay here with a friend just a few weeks ago and i was so glad we chose Seyyida. Very beautiful hotel with a breathtaking view of Stone town and the ocean. The staff very helpful and friendly. The receptionist was very kind to help us figure out our way around stone town and was very informed. I would totally recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation in stone town. Thank you Seyyida team for making my stay in Zanzibar a pleasant one.
Seyyida Hotel was a welcome sanctuary in the chaos of Stone Town. We loved our short stay with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff as well as a beautiful room. The pool was clean and beautiful, and the rooftop restaurant had a gorgeous view. We can't wait to head back to Seyyida in future. Our only query would be that we had expected a sea view from our balcony, but this was not the case. Not a huge issue for us, but perhaps worth confirming when you book if this is important for your stay. Not about this hotel specifically, but in general Stone Town can be busy and the streets can be loud at night, so if you are a light sleeper, perhaps bring earplugs.
I have read all the good and bad reviews of this Hotel and to be honest they are all correct. But we really enjoyed our four days here in February, Our room was large and clean with excellent aircon. The breakfast was fine and the pool was great, The rooftop dining was great with a view of the harbour and gentle welcome breeze. It's a fairly modern Hotel and there are others with much more character but this is perfect for enjoying Stonetown. The Hotel is in Stone town. Which is a labrynth of very old buildings and really fun. The Stone Town people are very friendly and very few hassled us, Getting lost was easy but there are plenty of lanmarks and locals to put us right, and stone town is quite small.Someone complained in their review about the graveyard next door, These are the graves of the ancient rulers of Zanzibar and are part of the museum which is also right next door ! be sure to see the Oman's car ( a blue Ford Zephyr) The area is busy and a little noisy but these sounds are all exotic sounds and part of the magic, I sugest you stay here but dine in some of the exotic resturants within a few yards. Don't worry we found it safe and met no.one who had had a bad experience. One evening a lady at the bar complained to us about the service. Who is she I asked ? The Manager was the reply ! honestly. The staff were great and friendly and really just needed some training.…
We spent our last night in Zanzibar at this Hotel, and it was amazing! The view from the rooftop restaurant was so beautiful. You can see the sunset, and watch people passing by the harbor. The service at the hotel was very good. We came earlier then expected, but still got our room ready. Room was so clean, shower was amazing, bed comfortable. When we left our room to have dinner, they prepared our bed and gave us new towels. And when we had cocktails on the rooftop we got some tasty bruschettas with it. And I want to mention the great location of the hotel. So close to the sea, Zanzibar coffee house and Tea House Restaurant (which is a must visit) The colors, interior and design of the hotel is also very beautiful. I really recommend staying here.
