Kisiwa House is a small gem of a hotel in the heart of Stonetown. It is located in a beautifully restored historic mansion with high ceilings and elegant furniture. The service is impeccable, from the front desk staff to the waiters in the rooftop restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable, with all the amenities expected in a upmarket hotel. I...

My wife and I spent five days in Stone Town, all of them at the Kisiwa House. The staff is attentive, quick and non-intrusive. The roof-top bar/restaurant is relaxing and has a good view of the sea. The interior of the hotel is tastefully put together and the rooms are comfortable, quiet and well designed. It's location is central, with...

Firstly, the location of Kisiwe House in Stonetown is absolutely perfect, so for this reason alone I would actually recommend it for your stay. It's within easy walking distance of everywhere, it's in a very quiet side street so is not disruptive, and yet was easy to find and get our bearings from everywhere we went. The hotel rooms were...

We enjoyed this hotel for two days after a month of safaris in Tanzania. It is set in the former home of a wealthy "Swahili" family. The place oozes characcter from the rooms to the beautiful central lounging area to the terrace restaurant on the roof with some peekaboo views. The . rooms are large and modern with A/C, all...

We decided to stay in Stonetown rather than a beach hotel (where one could be anywhere!) and the choice of Kisiwa was just right. A small hotel with it's own rooftop restaurant. Very friendly staff who treated one as an individual and were most accomodating when arranging trips or arrival and departure. Exceptionally clean with excellent mosquito protection. All the...
