The Maru Maru was the first place where we stayed in Zanzibar and we will definitly come back. The staff has been very helpful and friendly when we asked for a car, maps and many other things we were looking for. The room was very nice, the pool on the roof was very relaxing and the view of the sea...

I visited this rooftop bar/restaurant in 2013 and was sure to visit it again on my second trip to Stone Town. We enjoyed a lovely sunset view while sipping our refreshing cocktails and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and amazing flavors of our food! We ordered the Vegetable Noodles appetizer and also the Pumpkin Soup (so satisfying) and Stuffed...

Have been there just for Lunch. Nice rooftop location, but never ever try the Pesto Genovese! It's the worst Pesto I ever had. Service for us was ok, at two other tables there were problems with the orders.

When we arrived, all the bar staff ignored us. (They were rushing around doing useful things like straightening chairs by a centimetre). Finally, when we went up to request a beer, a staff member looked through me, and I had to insist. Then, 15 minutes later someone came to present a beautiful box with a bill for a drink we...

We only spent one night here, but would definitely recommend it. Maru Maru is in the heart of Stone Town, with an absolutely amazing rooftop pool/bar/restaurant that overlooks the city, the old fort and the ocean. A late afternoon watching the sun dip behind the mosque and into the ocean is a must.
